Very beautiful tiles and various home items - sinks, plates, bowls, storage jars, etc - in beautiful patterns. There are a lot of unique designs. I came here at 9 months pregnant and was also relieved (literally) to see there was a public restroom in the store, which was unexpected but a pleasant surprise. Overall their items are expensive, but that's likely to be expected given the area. Their wares would make nice gifts.

    Garden frog from Talavera 5/29/22

Anyone who knows me could have predicted that I would return for one of the colorful garden critters that caught my eye, in this case a beautiful blue ceramic frog. It was only a week or two later and it now graces the garden patch at the bottom of the front stairs, nestled near and underneath azaleas and some freesias that are drying out so they can return next year.

What an amazing tile store. Highly recommend!! Very knowledgeable staff and super helpful. I've been looking online for spanish tiles but there's no replacing coming into a showroom and actually getting to see the tiles... And they have a HUGE selection in stock! They were able to look at a pic I found on Pinterest and found the exact tiles plus so many more!!

    Mom's urn

First off, my mom was at my house in hospice care. She asked to be cremated which surprised me since we had purchased a plot for her over 12 years ago. I ordered a beautiful urn for her. When it was supposed to arrive I was told it was back ordered for 3 months. I had gone to this store years ago and thought I would at least call them. The young lady that answered my call was compassionate and took such good care of me. She offered to send me photos of what she had available. I was shocked! Really?! Customer service at it's finest. I went the very next day and found an urn ever better than the one online for cheaper!!! My mom passed a week later. She passed on March 15, 2020. I am not feeling as sad and was looking at my mom this morning. I just wanted to tell you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this so easy. 1000% this is the best place to go for all your Talavera needs. Thank you for being sensitive to my needs. Bleeding to all of you during this crazy time. Just thank you.

My favorite place. I have their tile all over my house, 2 of their sinks, flower pots and even a big parrot. Everything is beautiful, but the one thing that is even better than their products is their customer service. Really nice women who car and take care of you. So happy!

What a beautiful store! We came here to look at tiles for a future kitchen remodel project. We have driven by many times, wanting to stop but have had other things more pressing to take care of. We did find house number tiles for a great project to do right away. A little pricy, but considering the quality, it's another great find in Berkeley.

Talavera helped make this project possible. Thank you again. Great customer service and quality products. A+++

Fun Mexican stuff to see and buy. It's all authentic and mostly super colorfully. Store hours are limited.

This is an extraordinary shop, and extraordinarily well managed by its new manager (I think Rob is retiring).

I've shopped here frequently over the years. About a year ago I bought a sterling silver ring here…read morewith a blue stone. Unfortunately, the stone turned into a greenish brown color. I stopped by today to ask about it and was prepared to simply buy a new ring-- it was fairly inexpensive. The store was empty, and there were two people working there who did not greet me when I walked in, as they were busy complaining loudly about someone. I stepped up to the counter, and despite the workers standing behind the counter, and one person looking at me directly, they still didn't greet me. At one point, one looked like she was coming toward me, looked me in the eye and then grabbed her beverage and turned away. Finally I asked directly for help. I showed her the ring and asked to look at the identical one behind the counter. She got very nervous and told me they hadn't seen a stone turn brown before. She immediately told me that she would not contact the company for me, that I needed to do it myself. I hadn't even asked her to. She kept saying things like "well if it had been two weeks we maybe could help you." to which I responded, "do you expect a ring to turn brown after 2 weeks?" She then said she couldn't contact the company because they would "ask her questions" she didn't know the answer to. I have no answers either why a stone would turn brown with occasional wear, no chemicals, etc. I would think they would want to talk to the company about this if they are selling jewelry that turns brown. Anyway, I was just really turned off by the fact that they had an empty store, but yet basically told me I had to contact the wholesale distributor myself. It really seemed like these two are doing everything they can to do the least work possible! I typically think a nice thing about shopping at a local boutique would be the customer service.. not here. I did not buy a new ring, and will not shop here again.

I went to the front and offered to take the CDs they were sending to the landfill. I stated I had boxes with me - the staff seemed amenable however when the manage Claudio was asked he overruled them and stated "no" - the CDs are now on the landfill - I have a machine to resurface discs, a press to flatten creased artwork and thousands of cases - however a company who's catch phrase is "zero waste" dumped" thousands of perfectly salvageable items. I contacted Urban Ore via email, via messaging and tagged them in social media as well as posting on their own FB page - no response. People donate items to Urban Ore thinking they think they are keeping them out of the landfill - the behavior of Claudio shows that this is a lie and Urban Ore appears to be a scam.

The diverse offerings include bicycles and bike parts, furniture (sofas, tables, and more), lots of chairs, rugs, luggage, tools, electronics, speakers, musical instruments, CD's and records, remote controls, items that make you feel like you've gone back in time (like cassette tapes, vhs tapes, and floppy disks), books, toys, model trains, light fixtures, baskets, kitchenware/appliances, board games, crutches, building materials, doors, windows, bathtubs, toilets, garden sculptures, mirrors, cabinets and shelves, decorative items, artworks, plumbing hardware, door knobs, plastic cups and bottles, hats, shoes, and clothing. The line at the front counter gets long at times, but it moves quickly with helpful workers making sure everything goes smoothly. You can even cut the line if you're paying with cash. No returns are allowed on items such as electronics and clothing. Dogs are welcome inside, with countless signs posted noting that it's not a poop and pee zone. There's also a sign near the toy section stating "unattended children will be given candy and a free puppy."
