I love Stone oven, their food is delicious and I like to get their chicken and basil sandwich! I come here with my friends all the time

So, I was trying to decide on a place to eat for lunch today. I purposely didn't get anything from our office breakfast pool because I was anticipating on eating an big un-healthy lunch. The challenge was figuring out what to eat. I new I wanted something filling but did not know what. My co-worker suggested that I goto this spot in the Northridge Mall called "Stone Oven." She said that it would definitely hit the spot and I would not regret the indulgence. Then, she decides to go, and said that she would take me there. We went but in the back of my mind, I was thinking, I really hope this food is good. After all, it was "mall food" and who thinks mall food is ever good(?) We get to Stone Oven, which, by the way was the first food store we saw when we walked in the court. She ordered a Garlic/Basil Chicken Sandwich with a Garden Salad. I ordered the same... Watching them make the sandwich was delightful and interesting. I could only imagine what it would taste like if I tore into right away. I waited, as we drove back to work and walked up the stairs to our office. Jen's desk is on one side of the room as my desk is on the opposite side. She opens her lip and start the festivities... I could smell the garlic and basil. By the way, it also had this creamed avocado spread. I couldn't wait any longer. I tore open my lid and began to sing, and sing and sing and sing some more. This sandwich was so good, I would not have believed it was from a food joint in the mall. It just didn't have that Mall Food taste. The only thing I can suggest to you in hopes that you will heed, is that if you are ever in the Northridge mall area, give yourself a treat and stop by Stone Oven. Trying to eat more healthy, I tried this place a few months ago while shopping and immediately fell in love. I have been back a handful of times since, and am always happy I did. The tea is indeed fresh brewed and the sandwiches and salads are delicious! The service is always excellent, the food comes out quick, and it is always fresh. It's a little pricier than most of the mall food court options, but it's well worth the extra couple of bucks. Definitely give them a try the next time you are in or near the Northridge Fashion Center. read more

Oh how I love the salads here! They are sooooo delicious and good size portions. There dressing for the Ceasars is divine. I love the bread too. The center of the restaurant has a stone oven in he middle. The location also has a small cafe feel to it, separate from the mall eating area. The only critique is that I wish they used a nicer lettuce. I think it's Romain lettuce. It's not my favorite, I hate the large pieces. I think the best would be a spinach lettuce to accommodate the feel of the restaurant and the bread. read more

I work at the Northridge Mall, the other day I was working and went to use the public restroom right by the food court. I saw one of the girls wearing her Stone Oven T-shirt, she didn't even wash her hands. Nasty. Would not recommend eating here, it takes literally 10 seconds to wash your hands. Smh. read more

Ordered the bbq chicken sandwich and it was superb! I think its the magical bread that made it taste so good. It came free with a side salad, I chose Caesar though it wasn't that good. A bit too salty for my taste. Definitely curious about other things on the menu! read more

If you catch yourself walking around the Northridge Mall and the growling rumble of your stomach becomes to much then stop by Stone Oven. My favorite is the tuna sandwich hold the onions on that savory and doughy bread. The prices are a bit steep for what your getting but it's in the mall which means there is a premium to pay. read more

Stone Oven has some of the most delicious sandwiches! Always fresh and tasty, great prices, you can't go wrong. Any and all the sandwiches are great. Variety of sides to choose from. My favorite is the chicken and basil one as well as the beef brisket. Bread is amazing and fresh. The meal is definitely filling and worth the price. Stone Oven is usually my food court food of choice. It's fresh, it's not fried and it's super tasty. I always get the BBQ Chicken Sandwich with avocado. Yum yum yum. The garlic basil chicken is so tasty. I don't eat the chicken from here due to dietary restrictions but they're always willing to substitute some extra avocado. Caesar salad is delicious as well. The staff at this location in particular are very nice but can be a bit difficult to understand. read more

The barbecue ranch chicken salad is fantastic. I love it. But why does it it have to be so expensive? They give a lot of bread with it...usually if you order a salad somewhere, they give you a slice of bread or a roll, not 4 slices of bread. I have not tried their sandwiches yet but sometime I will. I think Stone oven is one of those restaurants that primarily, or perhaps solely, exist in shopping malls...I have only seen them in the Westfield malls so perhaps they are owned by the Westfield Corp. Anyhow, I guess if you're gonna go to lunch at the mall, I would recommend this place quite highly for quality of food. But be prepared to pay 30% more for the food than you'd pay elsewhere. read more

I've never heard of this place before coming down here to So Cal. Was in the mall doing a couple things so decided it would be a great place to grab a bite. I had their BBQ Brisket sandwich which I was pretty satisfied with. I've been craving brisket for a looooong time but haven't had the opportunity to find a true BBQ place. The sandwich was surprisingly clean cut and moderate on the meat. The nice addition to this was the crispy onions and avocado. I feel that anything BBQ has to be messy, you know what I mean? This is not a messy sandwich. That's okay, I ate the whole damn thing. On a side note, $7 and some change for a sandwich of this size is a little weak. read more

Great salads in the Northridge Mall food court. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Salad, It was huge and came with Focaccia bread, about 1/2 of the slice for about $7.50. The salad was very fresh and filling, only thing was that the olives were too tart, way too tart. Bread was very good, looks like they bake it fresh in there pizza type oven. Staff was friendly and nice but i saw them have about 7 orders just sitting there.they where faster with my order only took 5 minutes but the salad i got was okay but so much n the avacados are really brown not presentable at all n my food ala salad and they need to work on presentation they literally threw my salad in my bag n dnt properly seal the lid lots of my salad feel all over the bag ..the bread was the only reason u got 3 stars read more

I saw a friend that had the to go box in her car and just the arrangement of the salad and sandwich looked good. She told me where she got it from. On my first visit I was hooked! I get the grilled Cesar salad which comes with a fresh warm bread that's made there in front of you. The dressing is perfect... Even my 3 yr old eats it with me... Okay so I have been pretty obsessed with stone oven since I found out of its arrival. (They also have one at the topanga mall). I always get the same thing: spicy chicken sandwich with Cesar salad. It is all amazing! The bread is heavenly as is the salad dressing, croutons, cheese, and everything on the sandwich. The reason I'm taking off a star is because one time (in the many I have gone) I found a bone in my chicken. Yes chicken has bones but this was in a sandwich and it totally ruined my experience here. First off: YUM! :) I go here whenever I'm in the mall and feeling hungry. Nothing else seems to hit the spot. I usually get their beef brisket sandwich because there's avocado and onion crisps, which make the experience sooo worth it. Their foccacia bread is so soft and yummy. Sometimes I order just a side of it because I can't seem to get enough. The sides I've ordered are cesar salad, not too bad because it was totally classic, pasta salad was bland and I think it only had pesto sauce and bowtie pasta, and their garden salad was ok. It's a small place, not too pricey, but yummy sandwiches and I intend to go back when I'm in the mall! :) read more

I work at the Ontario Mills mall I tried this place out of curiosity....I got the garlic chicken and basil sandwich with a side caser salad. It is definitely a favorite, one of my co-workers is always laughing at me because thats almost all I ever get on ny lunch break these days. I definitely reccommend it. read more

One star for the fresh warm bread. And one star out of kindnesses. I got the Mediterranean salad. Instead of fresh mixed greens as advertised I got romaine lettuce. Instead of fresh grilled chix I got cold pressed chix breast,deli style. salty salty dressing. Definitely not worth $8. I wont eat here again! read more
