All American Skating sits off West Park Place Blvd, near Hwy 78. Rain Forest Golf is also under the same management. This is going to be a long review so you are forewarned ahead of time. This place used to be a tradition back in elementary school for our Skate Nights. This was during the 80s, and it got packed! I used to beg my mom to go, and have fond memories of skating and them playing the Ghostbusters theme song, along with the red light/green light game. We loved racing around the floor and jumping off and crashing into the carpeted walls. That nostalgia brought me back here this weekend as we were searching for something fun to do. Yelp had a $20 for $10 deal you could use here, and their website spring break calendar made it look like something fun. - Admission: $5-$6 depending on day/time - Skate Rental: $3 - Add on Golf: $3 per person When we pulled into the parking lot, it looked like it had not been touched since the 80s (that will be the common theme of my review, "not touched since the 80s"). The pavement was cracked and lots of bumps. We walked into the lobby and, My God, it looked the same as when I first came as a 6 year old. Same railing for line control and same window. Hell, it looked like it hadn't been touched since I last came as an early teen. It was indeed nostalgic and I got excited. BUT, it looked so pathetic to see how worn down it was. My honey and I had both purchased the $20 for $10 deal, so we had planned to use both. Well, you could only use the value all in one swoop (couldn't divide it up). The lady was a little confused by it too. So strike one there. If you get the deal, make sure you're prepared to use the entire amount for skating and/or golf. So we just used hers for the skating portion. Cost was $24 for three admissions and 2 skate rentals (I brought my own) and she paid $4. We walked in and it was busy. Another surprise, they had the same DJ booth from the 80s. We walked up to skate rental and the kids traded in a shoe for their skates (quads or inlines). As we walked down to grab a seat, I noticed they had the same carpeted large block seats and carpeted walls as they did as a child. But it was DIRTY. My honey felt gross sitting down on them. Best part (and only good part) was the skate floor, which is large! You have to step down to get on it and a lot of people will sit by the edge. I did enjoy the skating portion. The music was ok, but the speakers sounded like they hadn't been changed since ... Guess what ... Yes exactly ... THE 80s. Oh God, they sounded horrible. All treble and no bass, and it sounded like the music was muffled. The eating areas didn't look clean, arcade area was very jumbled together, bathrooms had no sinks and the only sink they had was out in the open. You read that right, out in the open. I don't recall seeing a water fountain. The area that used to be a kiddie skate had tables in it for parties. It looks like they also added on a ticket redemption room, mini skate shop. I don't recall ever seeing this as a child. It looked very old. The nostalgia wore off quickly as I noticed how dilapidated this place had become. Management has not done any upgrades or refurbishing of the structure, or cleaning. I know the Atlanta Rollergirls used to practice here but not sure why. This place is old and needs to be demolished or given some love. It's heart breaking to see what it's become ...

Yes this is the only wall in the bathroom

So decided to try this place and they had a $20 for $10 voucher on Yelp. It's quite far from my house, so I'd say not likely I'd come back anytime soon if ever. This place looks like it severely needs an update and attention to cleanliness. I honestly didn't even want to sit down, but didn't want to stand for hours either. Here they take one of your shoes in exchange for skate rentals. There are lockers so you can bank your stuff and not worry about it getting stolen. I had to use the bathroom and was bracing myself given the look of the rest of this place. So the bathrooms don't have any sinks! No water, no mirrors, just one askewed hand sanitizer. That's it! So...don't think I'll be eating here either. Ewww! The rink is large but without any railings which makes it more difficult for beginners and those who don't know how to stop. The sound quality of the speakers is beyond poor. Seriously the sound system is so bad. Every song sounds garbled. I think they need to dim the lights more in here because it's so dirty! The carpeted area has so many stains and the carpet is coming off in various places. Where you sit is even full of stains and dirt, too. Come on! Whoever owns this facility should really step up and at least spring for some way overdue cleaning!

Lots of memories here. This place is what it is. It's old, yes it's dated, staff is friendly though. My only critique is that the in-house DJ really needs to lay off the Hip-Hop Air horn. I counted one song he went bur bur bur buuuuuuurrrrrrrr over 15 times!!! Hey DJ, if you get this message, from one DJ to another, it doesnt make a difference in a place like this. It almost ruins the song.

    Dirt after skating.

Good music. Friendly staff. The skate floor is dirty. I've been on several occasions and it never fails my skates always collect trash on the wheels. It's to the point where I have to stop skating because I don't have a smooth skate. I don't experience this anywhere else. Beside that cool environment.

The photo only captures the trash, but every table was sticky.

There was also a DJ that got there around 5 and he was great too! He was willing to play songs that we suggested even though he had his own mix to play. They also played tag a few times and a couple of employees hopped into the game too, it was great! The staff were also very interactive with the kids. While skating, I noticed that it looked like a piece of the skate was missing and when showing it to an employee he immediately had me take them off and provided me with a new pair--no questions asked. The facility was clean and well organized, it included a skate rink, arcade, jungle gym, food, and laser tag-- I will definitely return. Just a heads up, you have to pay admission and show rental separately, but they have a lot of events and deals. For me and my siblings, it totaled to about $44.

My friend and I registered to take Adult 3 together. My friend already knows how to skate and was completely willing to be evaluated. Learn to Skate USA's published Adult curriculum specifically states: "Based on prior skating experience, adults may choose to begin at the level that best matches their skill base." When Michelle McIntosh 'Jackie' refused to allow my friend to participate, I pulled up the published policy on my phone and showed it to her. Rather than simply reviewing the policy or evaluating my friend's skating ability, Jackie became increasingly argumentative and hostile and told me, "Wow, you just want to get your way." When I tried to de-escalate the situation and pointed out that this was a recreational adult skating class and really was not that serious, Jackie responded, "It is that serious," and continued making my friend feel extremely uncomfortable. Again, my friend was standing there perfectly willing to be evaluated. During the interaction, Jackie also inexplicably asked me, "Is that your wife?" referring to my friend. The question had absolutely nothing to do with the issue being discussed and, given her demeanor and the context in which it was said, came across as another unnecessary personal remark. Her behavior became hostile enough that I no longer felt comfortable or safe remaining at the facility. Jackie then took my skating card and told me she would refund the $228 I had paid. While we were waiting, I said to my friend, "Wow, what a waste," referring to the time and gas we had wasted driving there. Jackie overheard me, became angry again, and announced that she had changed her mind and would no longer refund me. So at that point, Center Ice had my $228, Jackie had taken my skating card, the class had begun without me, and she was refusing the refund she had just offered because she overheard me express frustration to my friend. I ultimately had to dispute the charge with American Express. Jackie expressly identified herself to me as an owner of Center Ice Arena, which makes the behavior even more concerning. I have since filed a formal complaint with Learn to Skate USA regarding Center Ice's administration of its Adult program and the interaction. There were countless reasonable ways to handle placement in a beginner-level recreational adult skating class. Becoming hostile toward two paying customers was not one of them. Extremely disappointing experience. Very unprofessional.
