Saw this place on Yelp a week ago during a road trip and decided not to stop since it was a detour from the highway. This week my stomach was eating my back so we took the detour and I am totally happy we did! Between the table we had burgers, brisket, rib eye, salad, onion rings, chipotle mashed potatoes, and fries. The gold medal winner here is hands down the ribeye. I mean, it's a stockyard steakhouse, we are here for the steak! The sides were so so, the brisket very smoky and good, the onion rings were my favorite beer battered! Totally worth the 5 minute detour from the highway. You will not be disappointed. Our server was Hillary and she was super sweet. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. read more

This us now closed. Like permanently. I'm so sorry. It was ordinary. When you exit the car in the gravel parking lot you smell cows. When you enter the foyer you smell stale cigarette smoke. Primed by this, you enter the restaurant. We arrived on chicken fried steak night. . It was ok. The corn most likely came from a big can. FT's ranch dressing had an aftertaste. The potatoes were runny. The meat was ok. The onion rings appeared to have had a bag in their past. I'm so glad they were there in this little town. It was western. A beer sign had pheasants which implied drink and shoot but no pictures of Dick Cheney and did conclude with something about responsibility. Great friendly service although at 5:05 I heard other customers saying things like"what'. You are out of ribs?" Or " No brisket?" Maybe it's my fault. It's been cold and I've been cooking. My group of 6 just dined at the Stockyard. We waited for over an hour to get 5 of the 6 meals. My son had to wait an extra 10 minutes for his. The Blackened Salmon was burnt, the shrimp skewers were like rubber, the mushroom Swiss hamburger steak was raw, two ribeyes were NOT ribeyes. I couldn't saw through it with a steak knife. The kids hamburger was a frozen patty, not fresh and was $8. Also, ordered a kids corn dog that the menu said comes with French fries, and it was $4 for just a corn dog on a plate. The waitress said we had to ask for French fries to get French fries. We also asked for more bread due to the wait and the waitress told us we would have to pay for more bread. Nothing like eating a steak in cattle country and Stockyard Steak House delivers. The wife and I were in town for a family celebration and we ate at Stock Yard. Every part of the experience was exceptional. We had sirloin strips served with choice of potato , salad, homemade bread and cooked vegetable. The mark of a good steak house, steaks cooked and seasoned to perfection. Dessert was out of the question because we simply didn't have room. Wow. What a find. This restaurant is really at a stockyard. You can actually go out the inside door and watch the cattle auction on Tuesdays. The food is great, although informal. Ie plastic knives and forks. But we had a delicious prime rib sandwich for $5.99 or $6.99 with fries. The waitress was great. Steak was best ever. Quite the experience for us passerbyers. read more

This place is incredible. Top notch barbecue and steaks at small town pricing. This place is 3 or 4 blocks off the main highway in a part of town you'd not expect to find a restaurant but is worth the effort to find. Full bar available for adults, but there were plenty of kids there during our visit. Service was excellent. If there was one small nuisance, it seems the restaurant truly is located at a stockyard so there's a bit of cattle odor in the air outside. The assumption is their beef is very fresh. Oh my gosh.....absolutely top notch!! We went with a group of 10 people Saturday night and the prime rib was delicious!! Some of us raved about the Salmon Salad and our server was wonderful. We were seated upstairs and were amazed when all of our meals arrived at the same time. It is an awesome place! read more

Whoever said this restaurant was ordinary is straight up cranky. (and btw, If you go to a STEAK house that has been named The Stockyard...you might expect the stockyard outside to smell like cattle!!) The people are so friendly and the food is delicious. We've only been twice since discovering it a few months ago, but both times we were not at all disappointed. It's worth the drive for us so we're heading back tonight. If for no other reason, go just to try their Bavarian bread...seriously melts in your mouth. read more

Found this place while looking for another that I believe is now closed. My husband & I both ordered burgers. The place was clean, the service friendly, and the food was really good. We will come back when we are in the area. read more
