Lavender and honey festival! Plenty of patrons in line for some fried delights. Upon passing the scent of umami in the air, my wife and I had to partake. We waited roughly 10minutes in a line to try this food truck aka meal on wheels. We ordered the corn dog and Parmesan fries. Corn dog respectfully was doused in ketchup by my significant other but she did reserve a small area towards the butt that was free from preserved tomatoes and sugar. In that price I found perfection. Tasty batter with a plump frank underneath kissing my buds and tingling my throat as it made its way down into my stomach. The fries were equally as tasty. Fried to perfection sprinkled with some Parmesan that absolutely paired wonderfully with the corn dog. All in all, service was good. Food did not take long to get to us. It's the best when your kids eat every last bite of the lunch you've bought them, it's funny when they start to yell at you for swiping a fry, and hilarious when they give you a dirty look and slide the tray away because you stole a mini corn dog. Stix and Strips keeps it simple and does it well. The 8 piece mini corn dogs with fries were the perfect size for my two kiddos to share. My husband and I shared the chicken strips with fries and I can honestly say that I was blown away by their fry cutting technique, which were large, wide spirals, completely coated in seasoning. The cut gave the fries the wedge cut texture without all of the skin. We adults really enjoyed the chicken strips, and with only two plates between the four of us, we walked away full and happy. read more

I've eaten here at night more than a few times since my initial review and I have to say, everything that this truck serves is delicious! Sure, it's fried and greasy, but it's really a testament and paramount to what makes American Comfort Food so great! I've finally tried the Chicken Strips, which are just great! They're crunchy and delicious, but too much food for me to order at night. It's probably the best value for your money, but I've found a new love here... The Fried Wisconsin Cheese Curds are my new favorite from this truck! I hesitated to try these for a while because it didn't sound as great as I imagined, and geez, I'm glad I went for them! They're crunchy and chewy and taste great with ranch! It might not be the best value, but I find myself craving these all the time! Sure, I still love the amazing crispy, crunchy, deep fried and freshly battered corn dogs! Read my initial review, but damn, those Cheese Curds are just over the top amazing especially with the generous amount of Ranch they provide when asked! The smell of garlic was wafting through the office. The source was some colleagues holding large paper cups of garlic fries. I had tried these garlic fries once before and loved them. I told myself the next time the truck was around I'd try some of their entrees. Big mistake. I was promptly greeted with a smile. I went with the chicken strips and fries ($7) and a corn dog ($4). While waiting some of the other ladies were sharing their garlic fries with coworkers and raving about the lemonade. My order was turned out in about five minutes. While they had both bbq sauce and ranch available, there were no dipping cups. I strategically poured my condiments into the corners of the tray, but of course this ends up drowning portions of the food. The strips were perfectly cooked. However they lacked any seasoning or zing. The regular fries were ok but felt rather lacking compared to their garlic fries cousin. The corn dog on the other hand was massive. It clear they do their own batter. However there was so much, my corn dog seemed like a deformed wooden club. The batter flavor was good, but in some areas the batter was just under one inch thick. This created pockets of spongy grease filled batter which was unappealing. I end up scraping most off with a fork. The good...the staff was friendly. I've had their garlic fries in the past and they were great. The price points are reasonable. Based on coworker reaction, I'm going to try the lemonade in the future...just not on a cold fall/winter day. The bad...the corn dog. If they used about a third of the batter it would've been awesome. Having dipping cups would also help. I therefore give a mid ranked review. Awesome garlic fries. Apparently awesome lemonade (by word of mouth). Disappointing corn dog. While I may not go running back to them for a meal, they are worth it if you need a garlic fry fix. read more

Atmosphere - This is a one window truck, so you can tell it is old. Being old it looks like the truck received a fresh paint coat as the yellow just pops. Food - Food on a stick, or stix. I had the jalapeno cheese corndog that is freshly battered and deep fried. This was a monster of a corn dog but I did not get much of any heat from the jalapeno. So that was a little disappointing. This is the second time I have received dried out, hard chicken strips. I'm so disappointed. I asked for the issue to be resolved but they didn't bother taking the tray back and redoing the order. I'm kind of a corn dog snob.... so this place is by far the best corn dog I've had! The county fairs don't come close. Purchased the longer corn dog for $7. Perfectly brown and golden. Each bite had a crunchy crust... none of the partially cooked and gritty dough. The Nathan's hot dog was perfectly juicy and salty. Paired well with their ice cold lemonade. We also had the chicken strips. Also very crunchy and juicy and well seasoned. We will definitely be back for the corn dogs! read more

I always order online and it's alot more convenient, prices are better .The food is always prepared by the expected time that's set to pick up . Very good corn dogs!!! The jumbo corn dog was amazing hand dipped in fresh batter!!! I had to take a star off because the French fries were hot but very hard and tasted like old fryer oil. Their lemonade was very yummy and refreshing in the hot weather lol. Friendly service tried them out today at food truck fridays they had the longest line there but they were quick at taking your order and getting your food out!! Extreme lack of seasoning on their strips, was super excited and ended up disappointed... Also, they did have BBQ sauce and other condiments but nothing to put them in and what they serve in is already small. I'd definitely be willing to try again if I heard they actually had flavor now. I also had one of their churros and it was delicious but went back another time only to find out they had some donut churros or something like that at a different price and that wasn't fun. Awful. Avoid at all costs. Stewed water for coffee, overcooked churros, corn dogs and chicken & waffles. Disorganized, had to ask three times to get our full order when there were cooked items just sat on the counter. Worst of all, cashier tried to short change me. I visited the food truck today and my sister told me that they had some great fries so I ordered a large cup of garlic fries. I hate to leave bad reviews but these were by far the worst fries I have ever eaten. They were soggy, cold, and they put too much of their garlic concoction on them, they were soaked. I'm really disappointed. The only reason why I didn't give them a one star is because they put rainbow strips of paper in the cup to celebrate pride.
