I asked about ordering a whole cake and she said this was done easily online and just give them 48 hours to prepare. They have a sale on day-old bread for 20% off, as well as fresh pastries, cakes, cookies, and other treats. Most breads and baguettes are made with a sourdough base. There's a large working kitchen off to the side and back. There are no restrooms in the bakery. The bakery is kind of tucked away in a secluded strip mall with a large private parking lot. Angelica says there is a farmers market here every Sunday and every weekend, a coffee cart is brought into the bakery so that you can enjoy hot drinks with your pastries. There are a few small patio tables in front of the store if you'd like to sit and enjoy your treats. I mentioned I needed something for lunch and Angelica recommended the ham and cheese pastry. I chose that and she asked if I'd like it heated. I took my pastry warmed up to go and also picked up an individual coffee cake and a four- pack of gourmet salt topped chocolate chip cookies for hubs, and a cheese danish for me for later. Angelica says the cheese danish is a very popular item here. I was very tempted to get the vanilla almond pastry as Angelica described the huckleberry sauce used. I'll have to come back next time to try that. There is a refrigerated grab and go case by the door with cake slices and cold beverages. I had such a pleasant first visit here. I found a spot near work to enjoy my ham and cheese pastry and oh my goodness, it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious with paper-thin, flaky, glazed pastry sheets, covered in melted cheese and rosemary, and stuffed with warmed diced ham slices. Nom nommm.

I'd been here several times years ago, and after coming back, I'm honestly wondering why I don't eat here more often. I ordered the chicken shawarma, a stuffed grape leaves platter, and hot tea. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. The chicken was well-seasoned, tender, and wrapped with the classic toppings, and the portion was fair for the price. Speaking of price, the value here is honestly hard to beat. The stuffed grape leaves platter came with hummus, tabbouleh, pita, and hot stuffed grape leaves. I had completely forgotten they serve them warm, and my brain needed a minute to recalibrate because I'm so used to cold dolmas everywhere else. Once I took a bite, though... yep. That's how they're supposed to taste. Soft, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I ended up adding some of the hummus and tabbouleh to my shawarma, which made an already great sandwich even better. The service was just as impressive as the food. My server was genuinely kind, gave me a few extra minutes when I couldn't decide, checked in without hovering, and even offered to package my hot tea to go when he noticed I was still working on it. (For the record, ordering an entire pot of tea for one person was an ambitious life choice on my part.) The dining room isn't huge, and there's also a small market attached, which adds to the charm. This place reminds me that consistency is underrated. Years later, I came back, and it was just as good as I remembered. Great food, great service, great value. I'll try not to wait so long before my next visit.

The soup dumplings are decent, but they are frozen, which kind of just seem like false advertising because on the menu, it says something about 16 hour long broth. The skewers are just okay too. The Mapo tofu is a fucking death trap. There is so much mala in it that my mouth was buzzing and it taste medicinal. And before anyone says that it's supposed to taste like that, it's not. I'm Chinese and it's not supposed to taste like CHM. Also, they charge for water and while that's not illegal, it definitely is scummy.

My boyfriend and I are Busan Mart @ Culdesac regulars, and we have now purchased from virtually every section in this store. It has honestly never let us down. This location is stocked with our favorite UCC and Ito En caffeinated drinks, as well as tons of other Asian sweet drinks and soju. - Grabbing ice cream. Busan Mart is SO on top of trends. Viral crunchy fruit ice creams, peach popsicles, Melonas, etc. -- they have it all. - Eating kimbap. Spam + egg and fish cake versions are killer and discounted after 9pm. Top tier late night snack. We've even found the randomest helpful items, like a callus remover (perf for climbers), and cute affordable accessories and skincare. The Culdesac setting makes it all the more perfect, with chill and well-lit outdoor seating, a lovely neighborhood to walk through while snacking, and a guest parking lot. Love it here!!
