The fried Brussels and samosas were the perfect combo for dinner. Service was excellent. The manager literally walked around and made sure each table was taken care of. This one is located in a strip mall and it's spacious; good amount of seating inside and several tables on the patio outside. My friend and I came for an early lunch and to beat the lunch crowd. We ordered at the counter and grabbed a booth in the back. Service was friendly and efficient. We both ordered the BFF sandwich, which is a "crispy breaded and fried fancy mock chick'n with fresh sautéed jalapenos, spicy cheddar, avocado, lettuce, and tomato on a toasty bun, topped with our house-made ranch." It was good, felt like it was missing some flavor as the ranch was overpowering but the jalapeños were pleasantly spicy. We also got a side of their thyme fries, which are always delicious and filling. Didn't get any dessert this time but I do recommend their tsoynamis! Always a treat.

We brought family from out of town and had a party of 11 (six adults and five kids). There was a long wait, which we completely understood. We spent the time at the bar where the service was excellent, and the kids browsed the nearby shops. Unfortunately, once we were seated, the experience went downhill. Our server seemed to have little sense of urgency. Everything took an unusually long time, but the biggest issue was the food, which took well over an hour despite being a very simple order of burgers, sandwiches, and other basic menu items. Throughout the wait, we watched tables seated after us receive their food and leave while we were still waiting. The most frustrating part was the lack of communication. Rather than checking in or providing an update, our server was frequently visible chatting with coworkers and rolling silverware. When our food finally arrived, it was at best room temperature, making it seem like it had been sitting for quite a while before being brought to the table. We asked to speak with a manager, who said she would look into it, but never returned to follow up. That lack of acknowledgment or accountability was even more disappointing than the delay itself. We declined the offer of dessert because we needed to get the kids home, yet instead of bringing the check promptly, our server spent additional time clearing the table before finally processing our payment. As someone who has worked as a server, I understand that delays happen and kitchens get backed up. What makes the difference is communication, ownership, and making guests feel like their time matters. None of that happened here. It's unfortunate because we've had good experiences in the past, but this visit left us embarrassed that we chose this restaurant to host visiting family.

It was pretty quiet when we came by. The actual space is fairly modern with TVs and decor that feels very Asian (even the water jugs!). I actually came here a while ago and wasn't a big fan, making me think I just didn't like tofu. However, this time around, I LOVED what I got. I ordered the Vegetarian Mixed Vegetable Tofu Soup (and asked to make it spicy). It was so good -- really deep flavors alongside a great level of heat. The tofu was delicious and perfectly soft. The rice it came with was also really good -- I'm not sure exactly what it was. The service was fine, but a bit slow given we were one of two tables in the restaurant.

I feel like I got burnt out on it a while back but eating with a vegan had me pleasantly surprised when they brought me here to try their house-made tofu dishes. I really enjoyed their difference in bon chan and was delighted by their $.50 hot drink station at the front. It was cute and very whimsical to get a korean milk coffee out of a quickie machine that presents its own cup when you insert quarters like you're traveling abroad. I liked it a lot. When you're sitting in their little booths, it's also very private and you can also view their process of making tofu in the back on the televisions on the side while you eat it, which is very informative as well. The staff was very clean and prompt at taking orders and never missed anything either, so I definitely appreciated the wait staff and attitude as always.

Afterwards, he mentioned that he tasted it and agreed about our comments- I appreciate that level of attention. Shortly after, the food arrived. Spicy pork tacos for me, and BLTA for my wife. The tacos looked a little overdressed. I was so wrong. Flavor and texture were balanced perfectly. The tortillas were firm, but again, perfectly suited to the juicy pork, that had a teriyaki vibe. Sprouts, carrot and cucumber toppings worked well, despite my expectations. The BLTA was HUGE. Great flavor. Both entrees were ordered with sweet potato fries. Unusual cut to them, but seasoned perfectly. I paired mine with chipotle aioli and ate every last one. My only complaint is that I'm only spending one evening in the Phoenix area, and won't be back soon. I would eat this food three times a week without hesitation.

But I wish I actually got the food I ordered. This is now the third time I've tried to get their carrot halwa. The first time was through delivery, the second time I even tried in-store, and now this third attempt was another delivery order. Each time, no luck. Fine, things run out, but it's a pattern, you don't have it. I ordered directly from their website, so I hoped the menu would be up to date. The third-party driver called to offer substitutions, which I appreciate, but it's still disappointing. And to top it off, they forgot the vegetables in my masala padpam. That was the part of the meal I was most excited about! So here I am, having spent around $80 total, with two items unavailable and a key part of another dish missing. The only reason this isn't a lower rating is because I do still really like the food. I just wish I actually got to enjoy what I ordered and yes, this could be resolved by going in so they could tell me before I order that they're out of items.

However, that means I can speak to what's probably their busiest time of the day. The line was long, and there was a sign at the door that offers a discount if you order ahead online. We started to try, but we both wanted to ask questions about menu items so decided to stay in line. There's two areas in the small location, which you could consider more like a food stand that has an indoor area to order. It's VERY small. When you walk in, you're in line to order off the curated menu. If you want to build your own, you don't pay until after, but you have to leave the line and visit the Build Your Own area further into the space. I asked the girl at the register which sauces had dairy in them, and she gave me a wrong answer (per what the man at the BYO counter clarified later, and he gave me the impression he was an owner or manager). It was chaos in there - they were keeping tabs of orders by sticky note and word of mouth at the same time, and when my BYO bowl was done nobody would have noticed if I just walked out without paying. Obviously I paid, but I was concerned for them being that they're on a college campus and students can be reckless. We added those coconut/date energy ball things and sat outside in back. Our bowls were fine and it's definitely a solid cleaner food option - a great thing to have on campus - I would have loved this if I were still in school. The man who I think is an owner or manager actually came out back while we were eating, apologized to every group individually for the wait, and asked how the food is. THAT is why I'm giving this place four stars. I really appreciated the acknowledgement of the craziness and him being so personal with each table, and it ultimately made me happy to return (not during a lunch rush, though. Lol) If I remember correctly, the owners are former students and full of nutritionists/entrepreneurs and I love the concept. Keep going!

The Mother Earth bowl, inclusive of organic quinoa, onion, sweet potato, mushroom, red pepper, spinach, cucumber and pesto, was $9.45. I ordered this bowl off of the menu but if you don't like any of the options, you can make your own bowl! Overall, my food was great! For an extra two dollars, they offered a deal where you can get one of their fresh pressed juices. That certainly completed the meal! I like the food because it has just enough flavor without it being overwhelming or over powering. The only thing I would note that is not as positive is the fact that the Brussels sprouts were a little mushy and salty. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The place is clean and the employees are super nice, friendly and will always give me a little extra food! This place is located on College Ave near the ASU campus. I think the value for what you get is pretty good compared to some other places around the area. I do forget about this place since it's a little farther down College Ave but when I do remember, I never regret my decision!
