Great coffee ground while you wait. My personal favorite is Nick's Choice. The freshness of the coffee is what keeps me coming back.

Beautiful place, great big place with a very calming atmosphere. The coffee I ordered was delicious and made swiftly. I ordered a peach scone and they warmed it for me, I loved the flavor, it was more springy and like a muffin then other crumbly dry scones around town. The service was good as well! Friendly baristas greeted me when I left. I was not super clear on where to put garbage and dishes on my way out but the staff didn't help much, however I wouldn't change my review for that hiccup. Nice place, good coffee, less than average expensive food. Ordered 5 orders of Panini, instead of sourdough it was on regular white toast, 10$ each, 13 with chips and a soda. For that I can get a huge sandwich at Panera! read more

Such an eccentric, fun, music lovers spot for coffee! Loved all the puns on the coffee menu (Johnny cash - bold/black coffee with shot of espresso/ purple haze - latte made with lavender). I went for my usual chai tea latte (concentrate made in house - yay!) and it was fabulous - a great hug in a mug! Spent a morning here doing a little "working from elsewhere" with a friend of mine. I'm glad I got there when I did as I was able to snag us a booth before the place filled up quick! I wish it had been warmer, but plenty of brave people took advantage of the patio overlooking the pond. The seating inside has a good variety of places to make yourself comfortable and enjoy a tasty beverage or snack. The glam pink vibes make a fabulous Instagram-worthy moment from any angle. I was all in for the work snackies and had to restrain myself from trying one of everything. Even still, I had a pumpkin chai latte, a ginger peach tea, and an espresso chocolate chip scone - all delicious! They carry a variety of pastries and some heartier breakfast/brunch items, including Hangry Lady charcuterie boxes. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu! PS - If you're switching up your WFH view like we were, you should know it gets pretty loud, so it wasn't exactly the ideal focus spot for me even with headphones when it got busy. I went to Stillwater Coffee Co to wait for my boyfriend while he was having oral surgery next door. It was a nice and spacious coffee shop directly connected to Dental Implants and Oral Surgery Specialists of Iowa. I ordered their hot Raspberry Green Tea which tasted great along with their Kevin Bacon breakfast sandwich which was also delicious. I really liked the decor and setup of this coffee shop. Also, the two ladies working were very friendly and helpful. Overall, great experience! read more

The one time I have enough time to come here there is a bridal shower and there is no where to sit. In a way Can't blame a business for wanting groups. At the same time. I won't be coming back. It's quite a waste of time to drive to a spot expecting to be able to sit and 2/3 of space taken by a private party. If you want walk in Customers you need space for them. read more

So, I made a pit stop here out of pure curiosity, seeing that a new coffee shop had opened. It definitely has a vibe, and I appreciate that. However, I was there for a to-go cup, and man, that utterly missed the mark. If you're going to be a coffee shop, you've got to have decent regular coffee. Someone completely blew the balance of water and grounds, and the coffee was pretty watery and bland. I won't be back. However, it was black and pink and full of suburban women having the time of their lives, if that's your thing. All that and google currently lists them as "Temporarily Closed" so check on that. read more

Stopped here for a meeting with my co-workers and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. From the decor, to the staff, to the menu this place really packs a punch. Take some time to get to know the menu before you visit just because it's not cut and dry, they have unique names for alot of their menu items which makes the experience even more fun but can mean your going to have difficulty picking something quickly. Even if you do need some help the staff can answer all your questions! They also have some food menu items, basically parfaits, wraps, sandwiches, stuff like that. If you're looking for a hip coffee place this is a must try! Also a big plus that it's a woman owned business!!! read more

Absolutely love this place! The setup and decor is so cute. Happened to stop in for my first time in October, so the entire place was decked out in pink for breast cancer awareness. Loved it and love the support for survivors. I tried a coffee flight, and all 4 drinks were so great. Also tried the cloud drink in a hot chocolate, and my daughter and friend loved it. I didn't expect to astrally ascend when I was drinking one of their peppermint mochas, but life is full of unexpected adventures, just like Stillwater Coffee is full of fantastic baristas, such as the blonde Emma who served me (I asked her for her name). Saint Drogo, patron saint of coffee, had to guide me back to this realm from the beyond, an experience reminiscent of Dante's Paradiso in its life altering and poetic nature. He then sat down for a cuppa with me at one of the very comfortable booths. Visiting here was a life changing experience, I couldn't recommend enough. A hidden shop in the scarily blank highway roads in Hiawatha that when asked "is this heaven?" will surely make you answer "Iowa." read more

Love this place but they don't stick to their hours. They may be open, they may not be. I drove out of my way twice now during "open hours" only to be greeted by a sign on the door saying they closed at 1:00 pm today. If they don't have the staff, just change your hours. People expect you to stick to your hours especially when they drive out of the way and your hours say you are open. I am still giving them 2 stars because if you are lucky enough to catch someone working their food and coffee are delicious. Very nice coffee shop. However I was disappointed there was no decaf when I went to fill my coffee cup. I filled it with what they had then found a young man behind the counter and asked him where to find the decaf. He said we need to make it. I asked if I would have to pay for it & he said, "Yes, you'll have to buy another coffee." This was upsetting since I always do 1/2 decaf & 1/2 regular and that's what I wanted from the start. They should always have decaf available. Refills were $2.00 too so pretty pricey. read more

This business recently opened in August and has quickly become one of my favorite coffeehouses in town. Stillwater has ample seating and the decor is SO INVITING AND COMFORTABLE. I enjoy meeting friends and catching up, but am equally as comfortable bringing my laptop or book and just taking a moment to "Be Still" and catch my breath. After a couple of weeks to get up and running smoothly, I find that the espresso is now consistently good. I like the flavor of the cafe so much that I splurge on the whole beans (Espresso Ultima Blend Gourmet Coffee) to make my own at home. Of course you can't go wrong if your preference is sweetened coffee drinks/lattes/etc. They have a extensive selection of yummy treats. (Make sure to request a punch card). The food offerings are pretty basic at this point, pastries, yogurt granola which is why I can't award a 5 star rating at this point. (They promise that more menu options are on the horizon.) My only other issue: I find the operating hours to be somewhat limited as they close at 5 on weekdays, at 3 on Saturday and are closed on Sunday. I'll update my review once these things change. For now, this place is a solid 4+! read more

I had my first experience at Stillwater today. Wonderful scones, kind and attentive staff, and a fun environment to relax in!

Go there to eat only to be told they don't have food. I'm like that isn't what your website says. Then she tells me she doesn't know who is in charge of that. I was planning on eating there. Change your website then if you don't have those menu items! They also don't have a clue how to make a proper Italian Cream soda. Way too much cream and hardly any syrup. Tasted like NOTHING. Between that and the other drink I spent almost $10.00 which is ridiculous! First time going there and for me it's one and done. read more

I've been here a few times -- I love the ambiance, and the view over the pond is gorgeous. I've had their sandwiches, chai, and hot chocolate, and they're all delicious. The staff there are friendly, helpful, and professional. All around, a really great place. Here's the except -- since COVID has begun, they are one of a few establishments I've been to that ignore the trend of many restaurants (especially in Iowa City) to require their guests to wear masks. This not only puts their staff at constant risk, but also their customers who still want to frequent their establishment during this time. As someone who wants to protect family and friends close to me who are either immuno- or respiratory-compromised, I do not feel safe or comfortable coming here until they begin requiring (or even strongly recommending) masks. read more

It is so calm and peaceful to sip on a delicious cup of coffee and look out at waterfowl on a lake while correcting papers or preparing a lesson plan.
