Rude staff. I went there and it was maybe 12:45-1:00 pm and when I approached the drive thru I ordered my Charlie cold foam and the man then says "we are out of cold brew" (weird for a coffee place) I then pivoted and asked for the brown sugar shakin espresso. "We don't have brown sugar". I then asked "what do you have, then?" Not to be rude but to speed this process up and he then rudely goes "uhhh everything else?" I then place an order for coffee that they actually did have and then I also ordered the sweet black bacon sandwich on a croissant. I've never had anyone correct my order for no reason,he then says " well it already comes on the croissant". I said "well sometimes they are out of croissants" I didn't finish my sentence before he cut me off by telling me my total. If that's the case what's the point in correcting me? Odd. Disgraceful. Placed online order and when we went to collect we were told we were at the wrong location and they didn't have any orders. Asked them to check again because I was definitely at the right location and had paid for my order already. I was literally shouted at when I asked them what I should do. After a few minutes back and forth, oddly enough, they did have the order but then said they didn't have most of the donuts. Literally threw the order at me which didn't contain most of what I'd paid for. Made a complaint but have yet to receive any response from the store. They just don't care about customer satisfaction at all, they were happy to take my money, felt like I was being scammed. Will never go here again and would advise others against it. The absolute worst Dunkin, no done donuts I've been to yet both managers are irresponsible and have no clue what they're doing. They issued a gift card and then somehow managed to void it out after we left. My guess is out of spite Duncan verified they didn't know what they were doing ask the managers to have the franchise manager reach out to me. They said they did not know how to do that or who that was so they basically have no clue who they're working for they do not care this location needs to find new staff and either train managers or find new managers. This has been my Dunkin' since I moved to the area a year and a half ago. I'm not sure why the ratings are so low here because it's actually dependably average. Dunkin' Donuts is not fancy, gourmet, or boutique bakery treats, y'all. It's fast food breakfast pastries and coffee and you get what you pay for. This location seems to get pretty busy so you might catch them when the lobby is a little disheveled or the donut selection is slim, but the staff is always incredibly friendly and quick to deliver your order. I'd say my drink is made to my liking about 80% of the time. If I remember to try my drink before I leave the store, they've always been willing to fix any issues. I don't eat much of the other prepared food, but I can always find a donut or two to pair with my latte. Lately, there also seem to be more themed donuts in the mix - spiders and snowmen anyone?! The thing that really keeps me coming back though is the staff. I've seen a lot of different faces like any fast food place, but they're usually really cheerful or goofy and brighten my mornings. read more

I come to this dunkin donut all the time but in the last month it has gone down hill. It use to uave a great selection even by 11 am. Now not so much. Only one side has anything and not a good variety. I am not sure if there is a manager on site because the staff seems to forget that people do sit in the restaurant and can here their conversations. You know what? Impressions can be an incredible thing. Last night, I called the Dunkin' Donuts on Blairs Ferry Rd around 8p and ordered 4 dozen donuts and 2 Big Joes ($85) for pickup at 7a today. The gal (whose name I wish I had gotten) was wonderful and helpful and really nice. My team was thrilled when I walked in today with my treasure. (That's the only reason it gets 1 Star.) So tonight, I call to do basically the same, except I'm going to ask for some sandwiches too because we need protein in the morning. This is easily going to zoom the total over $100. Cade, their incredibly unhelpful Manager advises me that he needs 24 hours notice. I explain that I called last night and had no such issue. And that I wish he'd take the order now because I'd like to not have to wait an inordinate amount of time in the morning. He again refused. So I asked for the manager (turns out I was talking to him), and then his supervisor's name (it's Tim, incidentally, the general manager). Now, I'll be going to Bruegger's in the morning and spending my time and money there because if you can't accommodate a relatively simple order with several hours notice, I'm not going to wait while you worry about it in the morning, further complicating an already crazy day. I have been coming to this location since they opened. It started off as something new, fun, and exciting for us -- but that wears off really quickly. For people that are "regulars" (or used to be), it's nice when you see familiar faces. This place turns over employees like it is going out of style. I don't know whose fault it is, why it's happening, or even if its anyone's fault -- but it is disheartening when there are new employees every. single. trip. What you will quickly learn about this Dunkin' location is that whoever is in charge is very uncreative. Say they have 20 different kinds of donut, I am not sure what the actual number is, but 20 will work for this. Every single time you go here, 18 of those 20 will be exactly the same. The other 2 (maybe 3) will be stuff they rotate on a monthly basis. But then they repeat most of those rotated donuts 2-3 times every year. So over the course of a calendar year, you may see 30 different donuts, and that is probably a stretch. I know for a fact Dunkin has more varieties... You know why? Because you can go to the Dunkin' Donuts website and check out their Donuts page, where they provide nutritional information for approximately ONE HUNDRED SEVENTEEN DIFFERENT DONUTS (and various combinations). Dear Manager / Owner / Anyone who has any say in this place whatsoever... Give people a reason to come back other than the status quo. Give us a reason to be excited about going to Dunkin. Make us WANT to go to Dunkin instead of seeing it as just another stop in the day / week / whatever. Give us something different, PLEASE. And somebody please train these employees properly. If you ever get a donut filled with anything, prepare to be disappointed. Especially if you get an oddly shaped donut (like the heart ones for February). These employees can not properly fill a donut. Using the heart shape donut as an example -- only half of it will be filled. They aren't capable or haven't been trained on how to get filling in the whole donut. So if you get a heart donut, you are likely to get half of it filled and the other half just plan raised donut. This is a problem with normal shapes like circle and square donuts as well, but is much worse with the hearts. Where is the quality control? Even though their employees act like they are on a carousel, they have been (mostly) kind to us. Quick (mostly). When we first started coming here, the people who worked here were the absolute nicest people. Then they made some elderly guy named Don the manager, a lot of the girls left and the placed basically died in my eyes. The guy is the least friendly, least customer oriented "manager" I have ever witnessed. Old fashioned donuts and the occasional brownie batter donut gets us to come back but that's about it. If you loved licking the bowl of brownie batter when you were a kid (or even now), you'll love that donut. Perfect resemblance. Delicious. I'm from Rhode Island. In Rhode Island, Dunkin' Donuts is practically a religion. In the mornings, their drive through lines stop traffic. They have the naming rights on our civic center. Other doughnut shops have to shut their doors, because they can't compete. So, when I saw that Cedar Rapids was finally getting a Dunkin' Donuts, I was pretty psyched. There's a reason this Dunkin' doesn't have the nonstop lines I'm used to back home, though. I understand that Dunkin' has lots of menu items, but at the end of the day, the vast majority of their sales should be coming from coffee and doughnuts. On the doughnut side, most of your sales are going to come from the glazed doughnuts. Here are a few tips: 1. If you run out of the same kinds of doughnuts every day, MAKE MORE OF THOSE THE NEXT DAY. 2. Nobody likes cake doughnuts. They're disgusting. Unless you get some sort of subsidy for making them, like the corn farmers do, stop making them. They're just a waste. 3. If I take the time to stop at your sign and make sure that I am ordering all of the doughnuts by their correct names, don't agree to give them to me, and then hand me a box at the drive through window that is sealed with a sticker so that I'm not going to open it and see that you filled it with garbage cake doughnuts. Your job is to sell coffee and doughnuts. If you can't handle that, maybe you should consider finishing high school. read more

The espresso drinks taste like there's a layer of film or wax on my tongue and teeth after I take a drink. It's weird and happens every time I have an espresso drink from Dunkin' Donuts. It seems like it's something with how they steam they're milk. I'll stick to Starbucks for coffee and espresso. As far as food I also had a "Big n Toasted" sandwich and was very impressed with it, more than I thought I would be. The cashier Siwema D. was very courteous and helpful. I appreciate the free and fast wi-fi here and the fact that they serve Diet Coke (even if it is in a bottle). I don't drink coffee, but that doesn't mean I don't like to hang-out and work from home from somewhere other than home. I came at 10:00 in the morning and the donuts were still fresh, but the selection is a little limited. They were pretty standard donuts - would have preferred the Krispy Kremes that used to be just down the street, but for some reason, that place closed. Service was friendly and time to get food was as expected. Overall, not bad, but nothing to get super excited about either. read more

Judging by the quality of the donuts and coffee, I do not understand why people rave about Dunkin' Donuts. The donuts are too sugary and the coffee is weak. On the positive side, the donuts are fresher versions of supermarket donuts and lack the taste of preservatives used in supermarkets versions. A package of coffee beans I took home definitely had the taste of substandard beans. I ended up tossing it out. Luckily we have a donut shop in C.R. that knows how to make donuts - Donut land. The staff knows how to make great traditional donuts and fine fresh coffee. When this place first opened, it was pure chaos. I mean really . . . Dunkin Donuts? I'm from the West Coast where Dunkin Donuts is not a big deal because there is Voodoo Donuts and Grand Central Bakery. The donuts taste better and fresher than Donutland. What really annoys me about Iowa is the popularity of white fluff which tastes like it is made of lard that is used to stuff every single pastry out there including donuts. It is really gross! Why would I want lard based buttercream frosting in a pastry much less a donut? Come here for the donuts but not for anything else. And go through the drive through, the service is very slow inside the store. Go to the Starbucks a few stores down for the coffee. read more

Going through the drive thru they are very unpersonable. They try to up sell you on doughnuts even after you have already told them no twice. On two occasions they have asked to hold on in the middle of an order while it's raining outside. They are very inconsiderate of people's time. I haven't been there once where the order has been correct. The customer service is extremely rude and unforgiving. The drive thru attendants never smile, act like they don't want to be there, and don't seem to care about the customer. When you tell them they got your order wrong, they quickly get defensive and blame us for their mistake. Starbucks is two buildings away. Their customer service and appreciation is 110% better than DD. We will choose somewhere else for breakfast. read more

I was EXTREMELY disappointed. I have had Dunkin on the east coast and was soooo excited when one opened up in my home town. First off the place is too small and poorly set up. Next not enough workers for the amount of business. Then they had 1 fifth of the variety of donuts that they offered on the east coast. The donuts are still good. But the COFFEE! absolutely gross, it was so bitter, and I asked for sweetened, just like I would on east coast. i even added my own sugar and more creamer and could not get it to taste even slightly good. I don't like starbucks either which is why I was so excited for Dunkin, but they taste exactly alike. like crap. Arrived right after opening on a Sunday morning. Needless to say, It was kind of a letdown. The donuts were dry and tasted like they were stale-like day old, and frosted by a two year old. Very little variety available. The coffee was pretty darn good that day unlike other reviewers have noted. I agree that the location choice was kind of poor- not enough room in that old Sonic drive in to make it a decent sit down and eat place. Doubt I will make the drive across town to this place again, and I don't see it lasting more than a year in business. read more

It is a good thing that their donuts are tasty and their coffee tastes good or otherwise I wouldn't be back. First, if you don't come first thing in the morning the selection is poor. Seriously, if you sell out of something on a regular basis make more of them. We don't even try the drive through because they never have what we ask for; just go inside to see what they have. Second, if you go in late it seem like the staff is just trying to get out the door. Last time we were there the selection was very limited and they were out of coffee. There was someone in front of us with a big order and lots of questions but the staff couldn't figure out that it might be a good idea to stop sweeping the floor and and take an order for two donuts and two cups of coffee; especially since they were out of coffee and held our cups under the brewing coffee. Good thing we decided to take the coffee home. We ended up pouring the coffee through a coffee filter to remove the coffee grounds and then reheated it. Please pay attention to these details.
