I got the Ribeye with garlic noodles. I did have them add extra garlic. Because I love garlic, and the vampires will stay away.

First of all, this place is a nice little area. Small room, very clean. Friendly staff, and the chef was pretty awesome. The Ribeye was tender and juicy, nothing really needed to be added. I did get some Yum Yum sauce on the side and it was . I absolutely loved it all. I tried to eat the whole regular size bowl, but the diet I've been on has been shrinking my stomach, and I ate until I was stuffed. They give you a good amount of food in the regular size bowl. The veggies were absolutely perfect, light crunch and had a nice black peppery taste but not too much where you feel like you need to sneeze everywhere. It all just came together in the bowl, and made for a fantastic lunch. I'll definitely be skipping dinner tonight, this is filled me up. Probably one of the nicer experiences I've had. Love this place. Will be coming back for sure.

Genji's is the go to spot for Japanese bar food and karaoke! I've been coming here for years ever…read moresince my early college days, but for some reason I'm just now remembering to write a review. Nonetheless, you're guaranteed to have a great time here with friends. Walking in, I'm not gonna lie, this isn't the nicest looking place. There's a certain old school feel with mismatched chairs, a variety of tables, and some booths that can use a little TLC. The dated, mismatched aesthetic is part of the vibe though honestly so don't let that stop you from having a good time. There's a big open area for karaoke with those sitting around you, and then smaller private rooms if you want it just for your own group. Service wise, Genji's is honestly solid. They have bottle service available where you'll get your liquor of choice, shot cups, chasers/mixers, ice, and plenty of cups. Don't skip out on the food here either. The beef tongue, French fries, chicken karaage, omurice, and cheesecake are must try items! Overall, come to Genji's for a great time, they've been here for years for a reason!

We had to download an app and it will send whatever music you wanted to sing to the TV. They also had a covering on the mics. Sadly one of our mics wasn't working. There's also a camera in the room in case something happens. I liked how we can turn on a light to signal a staff member that we need some assistance. We ordered a variety of snacks . All the fries stuff was evenly coated, and well done. The noodles were more like food fillers. I would skip the takoyaki next time. The room definitely gives an 80s vibe and a bit dingy. You can tell that this place has been here for a long time. If you're not into karaoke, they do have a main dining area. There's free parking out front .

The parking lot is unfortunately very unsafe and highly prone for break ins. Rent a security is crap. When you walk in, the paper menu and pencil to place your order is right at the entrance on the table. Don't forget to grab! Then select your table. A few booths available on the left side. Large tables for families and community seating during peak times. So , be open to possibly sharing. Place your order at the window and pay. Cash and credit card accepted. Unlimited miso soup, corn soup, and red bean soup available. Love that! Grab your chopsticks and utensils. Napkins cubby located on the wall of the silverware station. The cubby Can be overlooked and has a sign requesting to please take what you need and not waste. I notice the popular for the older population first thing in the morning and a hit for the younger gen in the evening. We love the broiled squid, agedashi tofu, and gyoza. We love raw sushi our usual order is the salmon, tuna, and scallop sushi. Cuts are thick and generous. Basic roll of classic salmon and tuna. My kids love the shrimp tempura roll and hand roll. Iwa is straight to the point and simple which we love. Not into all the fancy and large menus. Expect classic options. Good cuts. We come here when we want to be quick. Highly recommend for a classic joint on Bellaire for sushi.

It's a fairly busy restaurant but we were able to grab seats without issue. We opted for the Hawaiian roll, a selection of salmon nigiri (regular, smoked, and torched) and udon. The sushi was delicious, lots of flavor and filling. The torched salmon was our favorite, a nice thick, smoky cut. The udon worked well and it was a large portion that we ended up taking to go. They also had miso soup, corn soup, and black bean soup available, and all of those were great. A perfect touch to a cheap but good meal. Definitely a must! The quality for the price is great and glad to have another place like it around. Will definitely need to be back to try their other menu items!

I got their wagyu nigiri, which comes with two pieces, and their signature ramen. The signature ramen is well-balanced and is creamy. You can definitely tell that the noodles are hand-made. The noodles are curly and bouncy, and I really enjoy their texture. All the meats within the signature are tender and soft, melting in your mouth. The ramen here is a bit pricier than other locations, but I do believe the quality and freshness of the ramen really shows. The wagyu nigiri was good, but nothing special per se. The meat was quite thin and was a bit lackluster. The interior is quite small, which leads to some wait time. I recommend going earlier before they open to secure a spot and to avoid long wait times. Parking can also get crazy in the plaza during the weekends. Staff was quick and attentive. I definitely will be visiting more now that they are in Houston and look forward to trying their other ramen flavors!

The food is always fresh, the quality is consistently amazing, and the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. It truly feels like one of those hidden gems that mostly locals know about. This place was honestly one of my go-to spots back when I was in college and broke because the value here is incredible. I ordered the steak and rice plate for under $20, and on top of that, you get unlimited miso soup and red bean dessert for free. Yes, unlimited. You can keep going back to the soup station as much as you want. The steak was cooked perfectly, the miso soup was comforting, and the red bean dessert was such a nice way to end the meal. The staff is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I've been gatekeeping this place for the longest time because it's genuinely one of my favorite restaurants in Bellaire, but they absolutely deserve the recognition. The prices are very reasonable. Whether you're ordering sushi or entrées, you can easily get several dishes for under $40 for two people. The eel sushi is AMAZING. We also love the tonkatsu, udon, chirashi, and sushi rolls. Honestly, we've tried so many things on the menu, and everything has been consistently delicious. My husband and I come here at least once a week, which says a lot. The food is great, the prices are affordable, the service is friendly, and parking is super easy thanks to the huge parking lot.
