Closing on a house should be a joyous moment. This closing has been a stressful disappointment. We choose to live off the grid in California. After the closing I asked could I have an email sent to me when the closing papers are sent. We don't have a phone. Seemed simple enough.
The house closed last year and the funds were supposed to be received over a week ago. I finally sent an email 1/8 asking when the papers would be sent. I was informed they had been at the fedex for a period of time. I got to fedex that day. only to be told "I called three times Gracy didn't seem interested in helping me." So the package was sent back to Austin. Yesterday 1/8 I was told to track the package myself, albeit with no tracking number provided. I finally got Kim the escrow officer (who had been on vacation on and off throughout this mess) to track the package. Here is the email I received :
just got off the phone with fedex again, they said that the package will be back in Boulder Creek at 13130 Central Ave tomorrow. Since it is rural fedex can not guarantee any time that it will be there. The destination has to be open to receive the package. I have tried to call there several times today to verify their hours. They have not answered at all. If they are closed and not able to receive the package, there is nothing that I can do.
They will not call you to come get the package. You will have to call them or go there for pick up.
I went again today no package, no email from Gracy to see if I had received anything. No concern, nothing.
We are still waiting, and to top it off this has prevented us from making an offer on another property.
Disappointed, disillusioned, waiting.
There are a lot of title companies don't let incompetence and uncaring ruin your joyful time. Find someone who follows through. There is a six figure check out there somewhere with my name on it, I think. read more
