I'm new to the area because I'm storing my motorhome out here in Simi (I'm in Burbank/Glendale…read morearea). I needed to find a mechanic to install a smog pump that I already had, and my regular mechanic (friend) has become ill. So I checked Yelp to read a bunch of reviews for a mobile mechanic... and "Mobile Mechanic Repair" stood out. I was apprehensive, but one review said "Right off the bat I'll tell you 'Hire him!'" convinced me to go ahead and call. Robert was very nice over the phone and agreed to meet me at the motorhome... I had the smog pump part and Robert got right to work. He explained to me that the newer part was metric and that he would have to head to the hardware store to get screws to fit the part. Upon installation there were some other altercations that needed to be done (drilling out larger holes on a gasket piece/or diverter piece.. I think?) At the end of a verrrry hot 98* day, he asked if I trusted him to take the part home and drill a larger hole to make the piece work. I said I did trust him and I headed home. He texted me while I was driving home letting me know he successfully drilled the hole to work!! We agreed to start again the next morning, and although I wasn't available the next morning, he went on his own and completed the job. He sent me pictures of the installed part 100% complete!! And I gladly paid him. Even though the job was done he asked me to let him know the motorhome started with no noise making (from the smog pump) and to let him know if the motorhome passed it's smog test later that day... and it did! Robert is very communicative about the job, he stays in touch with texts, he is extremely patient, knowledgeable, and I feel he went above and beyond! I'll definitely will hire him again. And you should HIRE HIM TOO!!!

Shady was very professional and straight forward with me about what was absolutely necessary to fix and what could wait. Just this week I took my car to Firestone to get the tires rotated. I was told by Firestone my rear brakes and rotors needed to be replaced at the tune of $700. I was skeptical and called S&M for a quote. They gave me a rough estimate of $450 and told me to bring in the car the next day, because it was likely I didn't need the repair. Sure enough, when I took it to S&M, they said I could wait to replace the rear brakes. I trust S&M and Shady. I will definitely continue to take my car to them.

If you're looking for an honest, highly skilled mechanic, S & M Automotive is outstanding and checks so many boxes! I come down from Ventura to see "Shady", and his name couldn't be more ironic, because there's nothing shady about him or his work. He's been maintaining my 2005 Lexus SC430 and has saved me a boatload of money on repairs and maintenance over the years. He's respectful, friendly, and clearly takes pride in getting things right. My most recent service made the car run like it did when it was new. The engine is humming smoothly again, something I've honestly NEVER experienced after a repair or routine maintenance anywhere else and I've owned this car since 2007. And while the name S & M Automotive might make some people do a double take (hahaha), the only thing painful here is realizing how unnecessary other repair bills can be once you find a mechanic this good and dependable. If you want honest, skilled automotive service, S & M Automotive is absolutely trustworthy and dependable.
