After reading numberous positive customer reviews I chose Andy's Automotive to diagnose my overheating problem with my Honda Civic which gave us over 205,000 miles of reliable service. Kind of a long story but I bought a mk6 gti and I got screwed over with an oil leak 2 days later. After finding out about this I made my way over to Andy's automotive because my parents always use them for our maintenance. I go and my parents tell me to go to Pete. Pete however said he isn't the best with Volkswagens so he recommended me to go down to the end to Kane. That's what I did and he immediately came to help me even though he was obviously busy with other cars. I told him the full story and so he plugged the car in to figure out everything that was going wrong with the car. After this he gave me his best recommendations for my next steps. He gave very clear and quick communication to me. He was extremely willing to help with my situation so we scheduled another visit for a deeper inspection. He did an incredible job on the inspection. He has great pricing, is super communicative, kind, etc. I can't recommend Kane and Andy's automotive enough they're incredible and everyone should be going to them for their cars needs. read more

tire rotation and oil change The above services were requested and performed in a timely manner and at a reasonable price on 11/8/23. I left Andy's Auto at approximately 3 pm, and was driving south on Spring Road. Just before the Peach Hill Rd. intersection, the steering wheel was jarring and loud sounds were coming from the vehicle. After calling Andy's to inform Teri that I was returning with the vehicle, I made a u-turn on Peach Hill. Moments later, the left front tire became completely disengaged and rolled across the street. The lug nuts were not tightened. There was body damage to my 2018 Soul. It is important that the public know that this has happened before from a tire rotation done at Andy's Auto. That incident occurred 2 years ago and involved the daughter of my friend's acquaintance. Interestingly, the mother still solicits work from this facility. read more

Every time I brake, when my car has hit +3000 miles from my most recent oil change, an indicator light lights up. 2 other mechanics I've been to will do an oil chance without talking to me about it. I assumed, this was the norm, so I asked Pete for an oil change and walked away for my ride. Pete drove past me while I was walking, and notified me that I still have 2k left for my next oil change and I probably just needed to top off and he wanted to "try to save me some money". I had a reoccurring check engine light from my EVAC system, with a rough idea of the cause, on my 4Runner. Andy's ran a smoke test and found the leak and repaired it the same day! In addition they encountered a dirty oxygen sensor and cleaned it. You will not find a more honest auto repair shop ANYWHERE. Andy and Pete are great. Not only do they do excellent work at reasonable prices, they are EXTREMELY ETHICAL AND HONEST. Recently, I took my Suburban to them to replace a water pump. When I went to pick up the vehicle, Pete told me that another vehicle in his shop had accidentally rolled into my Suburban's front bumper, causing a very small tear in the plastic molding. I would not have even noticed it, if Pete hadn't mentioned it. It was so minor, I told him not to worry about it. It was no big deal. Pete insisted on replacing the molding, at no cost to me. He ordered the part and a couple of weeks later, installed it free of charge. His honesty and integrity are second to none. Another example of their honesty occurred about a year ago. I took my Corvette to them to check what seemed like a fuel leak. Pete examined the vehicle, and told me the that the fuel pump had failed. Rather than fix it himself and charge me for it, he told me that Chevrolet had issued a recall for this part and I could get it fixed for free. I took it to the Chevrolet dealer and sure enough, they fixed it for free under the recall warranty. The cost at the dealer would have been around $1,500. Pete saved me that much money because of his honesty. In a world where it's hard to find an honest mechanic, look no further. Andy's Automotive Repair is the place to go. In the past I've been going to Andy's Automotive since I used to live in Sun Valley and he was in Arleta. In the meantime I have moved to the Santa Clarita Valley in November '14 to June '18, before moving to Oxnard in '18 to be closer to my brother, and while working for a second hand bicycle repair shop in Ventura as a bicycle service technician fixing and repairing bicycle's, road bikes, mountain bikes, beach cruisers, building bicycles, teaching the people of the community how to fix and repair their own bicycles, also been involved with running the bike shop when the boss can't be at the shop. Just recently, in June '24 I moved to Camarillo where I am hoping to find a job in a bicycle repair shop doing what I like doing fixing and repairing people's bicycle's. I hope to stay in the bicycle industry as it's treated me pretty nicely and since I began I have learned more about a bicycle than I can list in this post. I will return back to going to Andy's Automotive for all of my automotive needs as Moorpark is a lot closer than Ventura. read more

This review is based upon service that I received on ThursdayMarch 17, 2022. I took my daughter's 2001 Toyota Highlander into Andy's after receiving a glowing review from our next-door neighbor who also has had one of her cars serviced there. Let's talk about the location first...Andy's is tucked away and slightly off a main road in Moorpark. I'm only saying this because to some people, if you don't see the business is on a main road, they'll not go there. PISH POSH! Actually, the location is really convenient and safe (being behind the Moorpark Police Department and across the street from a dispatch center for AMR / Lifeline. People...I called earlier in the week and spoke to Pete. I explained the issue that my daughter's car was experiencing and he asked if I could bring the car in on Thursday. As my daughter works the 8-5 shift M-F, I asked if we could arrange to bring the car over the night before. "...AB-SO-LUTELY! Whatever works for you!" was the basic answer that I received. The staff that I interacted with were VERY friendly, profession and even had a sense of humor! Work performed...OK, here's where Any's shines! I need to preface this next part by telling you that I clearly indicated that we were NOT in any hurry. Due to my daughter's work schedule, we indicated that they could have the car for the entire day. There, now that this is understood, around lunch-time I was informed that they were able to determine the issue and have already obtained the required (OEM) part...it's been installed and tested! When I dropped off the car I also gave Pete a "laundry list" of other things that I wanted him to have checked (e.g., all fluid levels, brakes, hoses, oil pan & transmission gaskets, water pump seals...the works!). I was informed that while they were confident that the initial problem was fixed, they were about to put the car on the lift and being the remaining inspections. A few hours later I was called and informed that there was NO ADDITIONAL WORK required or suggested! He said it was obvious that the car has a history of being well maintained. OK, here's where the honesty and integrity of this shop is clearly demonstrated! I would have expected something like a recommendation to clean the throttle body or injectors...something. NOPE! You're good to go! Price...give the fact that they had to fish-out the bad part, used and OEM parts and then took time to complete a very detailed inspection...VERY REASONABLE PRICING! In closing, will I revisit Andy's? HELL YES! Will I recommend them to others? Without any doubt or reservation...YES! read more

I've had a bum transmission and we needed to do something because it was getting bad. I brought it into Andy's and they looked it over and told me I was better off parting with the car and letting the dealership who sold it to me buy it off me. I appreciated that they took time out of their day to look at it and gave me honest advice instead of telling me they needed to work on it (and then make money off me). I took my Elantra in because it was making two noises, first noise was a rubber coupling in the steering column that was causing a clicking sound everytime I moved the steering wheel. Apparently this is a common Kia/Hyundai problem. I took it to Hyundai and since my car is a 2011 with over 300,000 miles on it, there was no warranty and the quote was $550 even though the part was $8. The second sound was a knocking sound that would happen after I reached 45 mph, it was coming from underneath the floor board. So I took it in for the knocking under the floor board and Pete said he drove it but didn't hear anything except my steering wheel clicking like crazy. He said he could fix it for $250. Not only did he fix it but he got my car back to me fast. Anyhow, I did end up taking it back the next morning because it was still knocking under the floor board. Pete took it for another drive and he indeed heard the knocking, so I left it with him again and just a couple of hours later he called and let me know that it was a loose bolt on the axle and all he needed to do was tighten it. He didn't charge me for the second visit. I love taking me car to Andy's. I trust them completely. I always leave very happy. I recommend Andy's to everyone. They are mechanics you can trust. I can't say enough about their great service. read more
