I would strongly caution anyone considering Chris's Auto Connection. Several weeks ago, we dropped off our car because the power steering had gone out. They called to say the part was on backorder and didn't know when it might be available but would keep trying to find it and keep me posted. Fair enough--these things happen. But after a couple weeks of no updates, we called back. The woman who answered was rude, curt, and clearly irritated that we had the nerve to ask for an update. She transferred me to Chris, who admitted he hadn't been able to find the part. Then, inexplicably, he launched into a political rant about why auto manufacturing needs to return to the U.S. I replied that imposing tariffs before bringing manufacturing back just hurts everyday Americans. The conversation didn't improve from there. Frustrated, I called a nearby dealer myself. They said they'd check around and, by the next morning, confirmed they had located the part and could have it delivered in about a week. All they asked was a pre-payment to secure it. Here's why I'll never return--and why I urge you to avoid this shop: 1. The front desk experience is actively unpleasant. Customers shouldn't be made to feel like a nuisance for asking basic questions. 2. How is it that I--a complete amateur--found the part in one call, yet Chrissnd his team couldn't do it in several weeks? 3. Injecting personal politics into customer service is unprofessional. I don't care what someone believes--until they make it the reason they're not doing their job. Worse still, there's a sign in Chris's office calling for his political opponents to be jailed. Two prior occasions I have taken my cars to Chris' Automotive. Chris, did good work and I was pleased. No issues about money either. I learned quickly that the front desk girl was difficult but I didn't worry too much about that. I will just be respectful and courteous. My third car encounter occurred by prior arrangement that I would have my disabled car towed into the shop on Thursday October 30th early morning. Car was accepted in good faith. Friday afternoon I knew that no work would be done as Chris was in Arizona but I wanted to touch bases and see how it looked going forward into next week. The girl, ordered me to remove my disabled car from the premises. I honestly thought she was joking. Twice I had to ask her if she was really serious. Clearly, she was deeply offended that I came in to check on my car. So, she threw me out. I had no choice. I actually drove my disabled car home 4 miles in traffic, hazard lights flashing, with top speed of 25 to 30 mph (clogged cat converter I think). Dangerous situation. People, this is completely unacceptable behavior for a legitimate business. As previously mentioned, Chris was in Arizona and I saw nobody else in the shop. Direct quote from Patty (I think that is her name): "I'm done dealing with you." "Good luck finding someone to work on your sh*t". People, this girl is seriously not well. Just called them up to find out if they could read the code for my "Service Engine Soon" light on my '95 Firebird and was willing to make an appointment to have it done. Probably would have let them fix the problem if they could determine what it was. But, the hostile receptionist thought they had a GM Tech 1 scanner that could do this (she didn't check) but that I'd have to drop the car off for 2 hours. What is the point of making a reservation? Reading the code would probably take about 5 minutes. She actually had the audacity to ask if I've ever left a car off at a shop before. Wow!!! I'm sure the mechanics are great at this place but the girl that sits behind the counter is very rude. I went there because my dipstick for my oil the handle broke off. I have the dipstick. I want to see if they can replace it and change the oil but the rude girl never let me explain when I asked her if I could have someone go to my job and pick up the car I'm only two blocks from them instead she had an attitude. I never got to tell her about the dipstick. She told me to go to Jiffy Lube. There was more to it but damn, If I will bring my business to this place, I could change my own oil that's not the problem. The problem is I need the sleeve taken out were the dipstick goes and pull the old one out and put the new one in plus I was going to have my transmission flushed as well but again I was never able to explain to her. I wanted to give it time before doing this review because I didn't want to act rash. I take these reviews very seriously. I brought my classic in based on yelp reviews and recommendations. He quoted me 3 weeks to go through the car, took twice that. Some of the new parts I brought him didn't work, but he tossed them in the trash rather than giving them back to me to sell (ridetech rear sway bar, $400) and tossed factory replaced parts that I could have resold (rear a-arms). I "rushed" him to give the car back so he didn't do adequately test drive the car. Well the power steering hose blew up right after leaving, stranding me on the freeway. It should be noted that I supplied the hose, but I'd think that a test drive should have been done. Even though I paid top dollar for having pretty basic service done, the work was not up to par. He told me that my temp sensor was in the wrong spot, making it inaccurate. Not his wrong doing, but he didn't propose a solution. I later figured out that a $2 sensor and 5 mins of time fixed it. For $10k spent on service I'd think he'd take care of that. Also, the power steering hoses seem to be crossed (shouldn't matter, except one appears to be cross threaded). Not recommended. Update: one thing that chris replaced what my transmission kick down cable because he said it was melted. Well I'm not having my transmission serviced somewhere else, and low and behold, the new lockdown cable that Chris installed needs to be replaced because it was up against a manifold is melted. How bad does this guy have to be? Why do I have the only bad review? read more

Chris repaired two of my cars that had emergency situations and has been maintaining my cars beautifully. My son broke down on the freeway and I had my car towed to Chris's based on my friends recommendation. Prior to that we had had some minor work done by Chris all of which had been favorable. The day my car was towed there, Chris was very busy but was able to fit us in which was amazing because we were departing the next day on a trip and had planned on taking that vehicle. Not only did Chris take care of what caused our car to break down but also repaired the air conditioning which was phenomenal due to the fact that we were going to be driving in hot conditions and really really needed it. Additionally, my personal vehicle was having an electrical issue. When AAA came to jump start my car, they told me I needed to immediately take it to an auto body shop because it wouldn't start again and naturally, I took it to Chris. He again repaired my car on the same day which was amazing because I needed it to meet up with a friend that evening and was only able to do it because Chris pulled off a miracle and gave me same-day service. The other thing that I like is that I trust Chris and his prices are reasonable. They came recommended by my coworkers (I work in the auto industry so their recommendations tend to be on point) and they recommendation did not fail. Chris and his daughter worked quickly and efficiently to repair my car. I called on a Thursday, they looked at my car and diagnosed the problem Friday. Tuesday morning I dropped my car off and it was good as new by lunch time. Overall, they repaired my car in the time they estimated it would take and back to great condition. She cussed me and my mother out when we were paying for my car and called my mother a Fn B**ch. She was mad at me because I asked a couple questions about my car. And chris the owner had nothing to say about his daughter's actions and the way she was treating us for paying customers who did absolutely nothing to deserve being treated that way. She also did all this in front of a bunch of other customers so I do not see how this place could stay in business. They might do good work, but it's not worth dealing with people like this. There have been very few times in my life that I have been talked to so disrespectfully, and none of them were when I was a CUSTOMER, ESPECIALLY from the OWNER!! At first I thought it was because I am a woman at an auto body shop (never justified but as women we know how it works) but then he was just as nasty to my husband, who he had thrown under the bus in our previous discussion, so clearly he hates everyone. Small fish in a small pond, apparently gets work because there is not a lot of competition out there, but I will never ever take my business to that absolute POS. As I started to leave, clearly not going to use his services, he said "I decline" (as if HE was making the decision) and then my husband said, "that's not good for business" and he followed us out to try and justify his behavior. I THEN brought up the way he treated me, bc i hadn't said ANYTHING prior, and literally got in my car and drove off because his behavior was inexcusable. I have read plenty of other reviews which claim that he is racist, sexist, etc. and I completely agree. This business should be shunned and shut down. If he treats his customers this way can you even imagine the way he treats his employees?!!!! WOMEN BEWARE...DISCRIMINATION!!! Chris treats you like an idiot, doesn't take your concerns seriously, and takes advantage of his customers. A month after he installed a transmission, I brought it back because it wasn't shifting properly. He claimed to have checked it out and found no issues. This was repeated several times and he never corrected the problem. The transmission went out while my kids and I were driving out of town. Being stuck at 3am and the nearest town was 40 miles away, was all because Chris NEVER addressed the problem! After a ruined vacation, I called Chris to let him know. His, "what do you want me to do" attitude and lack of compassion was shocking. He refused to take ownership of the problem and questioned me that if it was even a transmission issue. He commented about me being a woman and how I was looking at the situation. He got frustrated with me! I am deeply disappointed with Chris and his lack of professionalism.
