I love the food here! I try to stop in when ever I get the chance. Everyone who works there are amazing too. TRY THIS PLACE!!!

Food was average at best...high prices....homemade hash lacked flavor...nothing impressive...though the soda was good.

Had breakfast here today with my dad. I had a hash omlet and it was really good. Hash browns I loved..a bit greasy for some but I like them that way and they had a nice brown crust on them..Shredded. rye toast and coffee was fine. My dad had eggs over easy sausages, hash browns, and hash all hecsaidcwas pretty good. His eggs were buttery and done very well. The menu has nice options but it's not too much, I prefer a simple menu like this one. They had specials. It was clean, our waitress was nice and not over the top like some are, coffee kept on coming. I will go back again! read more

the waitress should have know better not to eat those pies. Have you ever taken a good look at them. Their disgusting. I go there almost everyday because its near my work those pies sit there uncovered i swear for weeks. the waitress go in and out of there contaminating. imagine what we dont see. read more

The service was incredibly fast. Our meals got to out table in about 5 minutes. For the price, the portions seemed small. After eating it all, I realize they were just perfect. I don't think I'd bring a family here but a just the 2 of us is perfect. read more

After reading the reviews for Steve's, I had to try it out. I liked the selection of breakfast dishes and love Greek food and style cooking. I had the Athenian omelette and one pumpkin pancake on the side w/fresh squeezed OJ & coffee. The omelette was nice and fluffy and the feta, loukaniko sausage added excellent flavour along with the tomato & onion. The home fries were good tasting but they were cooler than I would of liked but not bad. The pancake large, fluffy and I wished I had ordered two, instead. The fresh squeezed OJ, I have to say, "was the best I have tasted at a restaurant. It was nice and naturally sweet, not bitter or tart. I thought it was a little high priced, "the OJ" until I tasted it. Overall, I think they are well worth the trip for breakfast and I can't wait to go again. I want to go there for lunch also and try some of their Greek dishes and specials. If they are consistently good when I go there some more, I will definitely up their rating to 5 stars. read more

The people are wonderful for starters. The food is amazing, if you want a home cooked meal with out the work or clean up then let Steve cook it for you. My boyfriend went to Steve's last week. It was just him and he wanted to sit in a booth, as he was waiting for two friends to show up. The Greek lady there wouldnt let him sit in a booth even though he told her he was waiting for his friends. She said he had to sit in a chair at counter. He stayed but was pissed. I wouldve left. Good diner food at a good value. The food is pretty good at Steve's and they offer a large selection of items on their menu. The service has always been excellent every time we've eaten there. Another good thing is they don't get bent out of shape if you substitute items off the menu or want meals cooked a certain way. They give you a fair amount of food for what they charge. I also like that they'll serve you breakfast anytime of the day. If you remember it's a family style diner and not a fancy restaurant you won't be disappointed. read more

I came here for breakfast while in town on vacation. Sat along the back wall underneath a ceiling vent blowing some pretty unnecessarily cold air. Seems there were these same vents all over the place so moving to a new seat wasn't an option. I ordered the stuffed french toast and home fries. The server was nice despite forgetting the fries at first and the food didn't take long to show up but was ultimately disappointing. I mean, I like whipped cream and all but this thing was a mountain of cream. Whipped cream melts quickly so I was soon working with a soupy mess. If the toast was stuffed at all I couldn't tell, probably because of the cream soup situation, but the toast itself wasn't all that thick and didn't taste of cream cheese and strawberries like it was supposed to. Went about 11:00 on a Saturday morning for breakfast. The place was very busy so we were hopeful that was a good sign. We got menus and coffee right away, so far so good. After ordering a Belgian waffle and Eggs Benedict, it was a good hour before we received our food. The eggs were so-so. The waffle was cold, I had to convince the server that it was cold by pointing out that butter was not melting on it. They said they would take it back and heat it up. I know that doesn't work well with waffles so requested a fresh one. About a minute later she returned with the same waffle heated, I'm assuming in a microwave. The waffle was dense and soggy. I ate 1/4 of it . She looked at the waffle and asked if I wanted to take it home!! Of course I said no, it wasn't worth eating. No bill adjustment. Will not return. It's too bad, Exeter could use a good diner.... read more

Consistently and deeply satisfying. Perfectly prepared food with the best ingredients. Fabulous friendly fast service. This place has all you would want in a down-to-earth restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Oh, and they have The Best coffee. BTW, that two-star review read to me more like a three or four star review. Adjust for that, and Steve's would have four stars, which, making room for differing perspectives, it deserves. read more

I took an elderly friend of mine for dinner about 6 weeks ago and I ordered a wrap and fries and was ill for the next week with a stomach problem. I also found the service very slow and the place was not crowded when we got there. I don't think I will try that place again. I've been there several times for dessert but ordering a main course is different. read more

We enjoy eating breakfast at Steve's. The food and service are excellent. We had the special, pumpkin pancakes last weekend and they quickly became our new favorite. We went back a few days later only to find they weren't serving pumpkin pancakes that day, but they made them up special just for us and promised to have them everyday this season! This place seems to have gone downhill a bit--it took over 45 minutes to get three simple breakfasts which is a bit too long to wait. Corn beef hashed was somewhat burnt and portion was miserly--I have never seen such small eggs served in a restaurant before I also got overcharged 50 cents from the menu price, so nine bucks for a couple very small eggs, a niggardly serving of hash, frozen hashbrowns and a couple pieces of toast seemed a bit steep. Dining companions had a short stack of pancakes, which were nice and fluffy and a relative bargain at five bucks, and a cheese omelette that arrived cold and with home fries that were not fully cooked. I don't think I would go back, but I can see why they are usually busy in the mornings due to the lack of decent breakfast places in Exeter. As others have noted, spending $30 for breakfast for three and leaving still a bit hungry seems to be the norm here. read more
