I'm sorry but this review is for the fish and chips. For the price to be $15 I expected more out of this item. When receiving my item I had more chips (fries) than fish. The amount of fish they give you is only 2 pieces. It's not even battered like the actual fish and chips. If I were you I order te fish and chips at hotdog on a stick. Four stars that I hope will move to five once they find their rhythm. I'll admit that I never made it to their old location in Kunia. I'd have loved to, as I love a good boneless Korean Fried Chicken, but it's sometimes hard to get a group together who all agree to share the big amounts. I love that this new concept has personal sizes, and even more that it is in a food court, because it is so nice to have a fresh and spicy option when one has time to slow down for a bit in the middle of a day out. I hope that they do well in this Pearlridge location, as I enjoyed my sandwich and truly appreciated the personal service during a busy lunch rush. I ordered the Egg Chicken Sandwich, thinking it might be a nice combination of a savory egg, spicy sweet sauce, and crispy chicken. My guess was off just a bit, but in a good way. My sandwich had a gorgeously crispy chicken thigh, lettuce, and a somewhat sweet fluffy scrambled egg. The best way to describe the egg is as a light and airy egg sold with a sweet pickle taste. It worked really well with the fried chicken, though I'll admit that I ended up eating my sandwich with a knife and fork because it was so messy. The combo came with a very large fountain soda and perfectly crispy fries which I meant to stop eating, but ended up finishing because they were perfect. My meal was $23 after tax, but was a good filling meal using quality ingredients. I have two suggestions to help grow into the fifth star. The first is to add a sign explaining that this is Korean style fried chicken, and therefore takes a longer time to cook. Many of their potential customers will already know that the chicken is fried twice, but not everyone in a busy food court will want to wait 10-20 minutes while their meal is created. This is where the second suggestion comes in. I recommend having a small collection of sides available, specifically things that are premade or easy to heat and ready to grab and go if needed. Mac or potato salad, cheese corn, kimchi...just a few items that would compliment the existing menu but could also be ordered separately for quick consumption to go or while waiting for the main meal. I'm sure it has been difficult to shrink the menu and pivot to a new location. I truly hope that they will have a long and happy stay in Pearlridge! read more

This place has the best chicken in all of Hawaii! Steve makes wings in five different flavors, and each one is unique and delicious - it is very hard to choose a favorite. Plus he has multiple chicken sandwiches - I have not yet tried them all, but I hope I can. Every one so far has been exceptional. The key to this really is how the chicken is cooked to perfection - so that the outside is crispy and full of umami flavor, but the inside of the chicken is moist and even juicy. The same hospitality and quality from their previous businesses (Chicken Factory and Steve's Chicks), which were excellent. It was my first time at their newest location in Pearlridge, so I had to try their new menu. I wanted a burger, so I asked what they could recommend to me. I settled on Steve's Egg Chicken Sandwich, which was recommended for being extra protein rich. The chicken was really tender and soft, and the egg on top added an creamy texture. The meal upgrade came with a large fountain drink and fries. It was so filling that I couldn't finish all of it myself. The staff at Steve's are also very polite and skilled. To get there, you can enter the main entrance to the mall by Genki Sushi and turn right after the entrance to the food court. It should be on the left side afterwards, and the sign is bright red with a smiley face. Since the latest renovation to the mall, the eating area is brighter, which makes for a nicer ambiance for the location. It also seems to be regularly wiped down by the mall staff, which makes it easier to find a clean table. So, if you're in the area and looking for some good chicken, I suggest trying this new location. Their wings are really good too, so you can take out and enjoy at home or at a party. read more

Although I feel for just the chicken sandwich they can be a little on the pricier side, their Steve's hot chicken sandwich was delicious. The regular was $13.99 for just the sandwich,with Steve's hot chicken sandwich coming in at $15.99 and that wasn't even their most expensive. The chicken thighs they use were juicy and perfectly cooked and perfectly breaded. The mixture of the hot and honey with the pickle and onion was a really nice blend of flavors. The bread was fresh and really good too. I did feel like the sandwich was almost too thick at times making it difficult to open my mouth wide enough to bite, but I guess not a bad problem to have. It was very messy, dripping honey juices out the back as you squeezed it to try to take a bite, so be careful when eating it not to spill on yourself. I would definitely come back for another chicken sandwich regardless of it being a little pricey. In comparison to your other options in the food court and their pricing, Steve's is worth it.
