I decided to go with Coolinary Arts because their Yelp ratings were far superior to all the competition in the Dallas area. My decision was a very good one indeed. After initially speaking with Justin on the phone, he sent Dylan to my home to see what my home needed in the way of a new Trane HVAC system to be installed with complete new ductwork in my attic. Dylan is very knowledgeable and has a very pleasant, relaxed personality. There was no sales pitch and no pressure whatsoever. After deciding what model (number of tons and SEER rating) would be best for my home, we ordered my new Trane HVAC system. We were happy that each contractor provided us the same feedback and input that our unit was slightly undersized in our existing air returns were choking the system from our initial visit with Dylan walk-through easy to review services in different packages. We felt there was transparency and then had a couple conversations with the owner Justin on what made the most sense finance the right equipment and service warranties. They worked with us and provided several different financing options a great winter buyback program of the old unit and we're able to get us scheduled within three days of selecting them. The team showed up on time removed and dispose of all the old units made the improvements to the returns and upsizing ductwork and it's been about a month and we cannot be happier with a quiet new inverter system keeping us cool at night. I wanted to share my experience with the new AC system we bought in 2022 as well as the company…read morethat installed it. It's a Daikin Fit 5 ton zoned system. First two years were great. Last summer it went out. The company that installed it came out 16 times between July and November. Multiple boards replaced, new wires run as well as a new eev on the indoor coil. They even had to replace the damper between the two zones because during the initial installation, they installed the wrong damper (yes, they admitted this). There's probably more but I think I've made my point. So why am I posting this? Well, because the AC has been out again for a week. Go figure. Also, I've asked for several call backs, including from owners and have had none in a week.

I purchased a new full home replacement system in April 2023…read more I have required service three times as the contacts(not any related) and the blower fan, Oct 2024 and June 2026, in the air handler has failed twice. I scheduled service and was told someone would call thirty minutes before tech. No time window, just a day. I contacted them at noon to confirm still scheduled and was told early to mid afternoon. At 5pm I was told the tech was an hour out. The tech arrived and confirmed that the blower was out and would have to be ordered. The tech then went into upsell mode and from wanting to estimate for more insulation to complete duct replacement. Three year old system and multiple techs from this same company having either installed or repaired and now this tech is recommending complete duct replacement as my family sits in mid 80 heat waiting for ac to be repaired. This tech says that the old techs from Lyons "don't know as much as he does" and that is why they never recommended the upgrade. I purchased from Lyons because of the great reputation at the time. In my opinion, this is not the same company and the customer service had taken a back seat to upselling.

However, I was never provided a clear price--verbally or in writing--prior to the work being done. To my surprise, I was presented with a charge on his iPad of $828 for this refrigerant "top-off". Definitely a sticker-shock moment. Furthermore, this was the only amount shown to me on the technician's iPad, and the amount I signed for (reluctantly). At no time was I told: - How much coolant was being added - The cost per pound I find it unacceptable that such an expensive service was performed without a single written or verbal quote in advance. The technician did an excellent job executing his upsell pitch, offering a long and urgent list of recommended repairs and upgrades--ultimately leading to a suggestion that I should replace both units entirely. While I understand maintenance work often reveals other issues, this kind of high-pressure upselling without clear pricing only compounds my concern. -- Charge for "Star Member" Program - Additional $360 After the technician left, I received an email invoice showing a new total of $1,188, which now includes a $360 charge for a 'Star Member' maintenance plan. While I expressed interest in a year long maintenance agreement over the phone when I set this appointment, I never: - Signed any document agreeing to it - Authorized the charge in any form Adding this to my invoice after the fact--when I only signed for the $828 refrigerant work--is a serious overstep. Now, 24 hours later, my upstairs A/C unit no longer cools. Just blows hot air. Now I suspect sabotage to further coerce me to spend more money with them. No way. You have been warned.
