I am so glad to have this store in our neighborhood! I buy art supplies here whenever I need them,…read moreI also use them for printing. I gave up on my home printer years ago and now rely on them. I find the people who work there/owners to be helpful and neighborly.

I dropped off film to be developed into prints on a Friday afternoon around noon and was told I…read morecould pick up the prints Tuesday or Wednesday. I arrived Wednesday evening to pick the prints and was told scornfully "I told you Thursday or Friday" . The man was not only wrong but very combative in his tone and language. I can understand if the prints were not made by the set pickup date but I can not understand the need to act defensively and the attempt to shift blame onto me, the paying client. The man told me I could come back Thursday and I asked if he was positive and he confirmed. He said he would text me when they were done and I left. I walked in Thursday afternoon and the man said "you're here to pick up the prints aren't you, I told you Thursday or Friday and that I would text you". He wasn't apologetic he was annoyed. I countered he confirmed they would be ready Thursday and he became even more argumentative and dismissive. Regardless of the pick up times that were argued, this is extremely poor customer service. I paid in advance for a service which was not rendered in the agreed upon timeframe and instead of being accommodating or at the least kind about it I was met with contempt and made to feel like I was an annoyance. This is inexcusable. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Please do yourself, and any family or friends a favor and DO NOT use "Little Treasures" on Park…read moreAvenue in Rutherford for anything! I want to be precise and thorough enough for everyone to understand this problem and how truly bad this business and its proprietors are. This is from my own personal horrendous experience dealing with them. If you don't have the time, stop reading now because this is a bit long, but NEVER using them is enough if you can't read more. On December 02, 2011, through the recommendation of a company in Hackensack that does great work, I took a breakfast nook table and two benches to "Little Treasures" to be sanded, have three coats of stain, and three coats of polyurethane applied. On January 06, 2012, after not receiving a single call from the proprietors for over a month, I called and spoke with Yvonne who told me that, "there was a lot of sanding that needed to be done and that they were going to begin staining the coming week and should be done in 7-10 days". The following weekend, January 14, I went into the store to see the progress that was being made. Apparently Yvonne had forgotten she had spoken to me a week earlier, and again I was told that, "there was a lot of sanding that had to be done and that they were going to begin staining the coming week and should be done in 7-10 days". I reminded her that she told me the same thing a week ago and asked to see the breakfast nook myself. She told me that I was not allowed in the back due to insurance reasons. This I found comical since when I dropped the breakfast nook off I came in through the back entrance with a friend and we remained walking around back there by ourselves for about 20 minutes, with their knowledge, while waiting for Carl. It wasn't an insurance issue then. I gave them an additional nine days and contacted them by phone again on January 24, at which time Carl answered the call. Carl proceeded to tell me the same story that I had been told the previous three weeks by Yvonne. "There was a lot of sanding that had to be done and they were going to begin staining the coming week and should be done in 7-10 days". At that point, I told Carl that he needed to give me an exact date of completion as it had been 7 weeks, of which the last three weeks I had been told the same story. I told him it was not unreasonable for them to give me an exact date of completion. Carl refused to give me an exact date of completion and began to get angry by my insistence. In my frustration I called them liars and told him he better give me an exact date of completion. Instead, he hung up on me. While aggravated, I still gave them the remainder of the week to complete the work, and to let calmer heads prevail. However, upon going into the store again on Saturday January 28 Yvonne told me that they had started staining it and, again, that it should be done in the next two weeks. I asked to see my table and benches. She once again replied that due to insurance reasons she couldn't allow me "back there". Finally, I told her she could either bring me in back to see them or I would call the police. She told me to go ahead and call the police. Upon his arrival, Yvonne told the Officer that she didn't have a key for the back room and that Carl was in a seminar until 3pm and he was the only one with a key. Yvonne also told the Officer that the "staining was already being done and they looked beautiful." The Officer told her that they cannot hold a client's property ransom and that we would be back at 3pm to retrieve my property. I had previously told the Officer that I was no longer willing to give this horrendous business and it's rude, unprofessional and untrustworthy proprietors any more of my time, trust, or business. At 3:30pm a second Officer and I went back to retrieve my property. Not surprisingly, neither Yvonne nor Carl were anywhere to be seen, but their employee told us the table and benches were in the back. Upon going around the corner to the back, the table and benches were found outside by the back door unattended and visible from the side street. Only "light" sanding had been done on the benches. Due to some pre-existing damage, I could tell that no more than a "light" sanding had been completed because the damage was not smoothed out at all. As for the table I could tell that the same "light" sanding was done for the same pre-existing damage reason. In addition, they also managed to get one (1) coat of stain on the top and side of the legs, but not underneath nor the inside of the legs. There was a very fresh and strong smell as if it had been done that morning, when the 1st Officer and I had left. They have since been sanded, and had coats of stain and polyurethane put on the benches and table. What they couldn't do in TWO (2) months was done in FOUR (4) DAYS! The lack of professionalism, the dishonesty, and the pure lack of respect for a customer shown by "Little Treasures" is unacceptable.
