She was absolutely wonderful, I do needlepoints and I had one which I was planning to give my niece's new baby a girl of a fairy and I am EXREMELY FUSSY when it comes to the frames they had to be just right. The piece is fantasy style and she had after much going back and forth found 2 frames in a fantasy style, one had similar colors in the frame to the needlepoint ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! She also allowed my 9 month old poodle into the store as well. I have more needlepoints that need to be framed and I will keep coming back to get them framed. Terri hope you get this but I found the name of the website where I get my needlepoint threads and I think they are reasonably priced it is www.everythingcrossstitch.com they are located in another state and do ship I've been using them for years and I found their prices to be better than going straight to the DMC website! read more

My husband and I brought in a painting made by his grandmother in 1991. It had been left in storage at some point and was dirty, on a frame that wasn't straight and generally needed some TLC. We spoke to Teri, who helped us understand what the painting needed in terms of clean up and what she would recommend trying. We had some sticker shock (first time professionally cleaning/framing - price was absolutely fair) but she really worked with us. She also didn't "sell" us on the work. Offered to do the cleaning and have us hang the picture as is (suggested how) and that we could reframe at a later date - it was really cool of her. She cleaned the spot/ drip on the right side and she "blew out" the dust and dirt. I included a before and after comparison - amazing job. The colors are so vibrant and alive. She then took the canvas off the old (inner?) frame, restretched, and attached to a new one. Only then did she frame in our new (blue/ rustic!) frame. This beautiful work is now hanging in our living room and we absolutely love it! Thanks SO much to Teri for taking such great care to preserve this painting for us!! read more

Teri at ArtWorld is simply AMAZING! She was able to help us with our oversized Shag print and provided us with various options until she made our vision of how we wanted this piece to look become reality. The quality of framing and customer service is just superior. The attention to detail, from the hooks to the placement of the authenticity certificate, cannot be matched by any other shop. I'm just thrilled to have found ArtWorld in my neighborhood and will definitely go back to get more pieces framed. Quick turn-around time, reasonable cost, fantastic communication and very professional. I highly recommend them. Thank you!!! I've been a customer of Art World since their days on Austin Street. Teri is a lovely lady who happens to be extremely knowledgeable in all things art and framing. A connoisseur, if you will. My friend's daughter is a massive Doctor Who fan (as am I). And when I brought in my pathetic attempt to frame a poem from the Thirteenth Doctor of Doctor Who in rainbows, not only didn't she laugh, she had the solution I was looking for: covering a mat with rainbow masking tape! It looks fabulous and my young friend will be thrilled when she sees it. Thank you so much, Teri. You are brilliant! read more

My twin brother and I have had two pieces framed at ArtWorld and are so pleased with how they came together! We had a very general sense of what we were looking for going in, but both times, Teri skillfully guided us in a direction we never expected - and now it's hard to imagine them any other way! A one-of-a-kind store with endless framing possibilities! Even if you are not based in Queens, it is worth the trip for exceptional quality and a unique eye for artful composition. read more

Love, love, love the owner Teri and Art World. I ordered a frame from another salesperson and when I went to pick it up, Teri admired the print and showed me that the glass I ordered was reflective and that the beautiful print could not be seen clearly due to the glare. She showed me the difference with the non-glare glass and highly recommended it and for a only a few dollars more, she was able to redo the frame. The difference in quality is night and day. I highly recommend Teri and Art World for their personal expertise and experience, superb customer service and for very high quality frames and workmanship. We will be rushing back the next time we need something framed. read more

Terry never disappoints when it comes to framing a piece of art. I will usually have a vision in mind. In some instances I've simply asked what she would suggest and often it is just spot-on. Obviously, art is subjective, so there are other times where she'll ask me what I'm thinking and then we'll work in unison to come up with a framing/mat combination that is spectacular. I've very recently worked with ArtWorld on framing several one-of-a-kind architectural sketches. They are simply stunning and I could not be happier with the frame/mat combination. An adorable place! I didn't worry about frame thingy, but other stuff took my sight! All small and big antics. Oh and don't be surprised when you see the huge Jason looking at you! He may move his eye to see what you do. lol There is the "True Blood" poster saying "Suck on This." but because something hide the poster, so it looks like "Suck on his."... lol Anyways, I love this antic store. I received a very special painting as a birthday gift from my family some years ago. I'd never gotten the painting framed as the canvas was a bit warped and I was nervous about having it done. It's my most treasured possession, and I wanted to be sure the framing didn't damage the painting. A dear friend introduced me to Stevie & Teri at ArtWorld. I'd seen the work they'd done for my friend and could see why he was so happy with their work. They assured me they would take good care of "my girl" & helped me pick out the perfect frame for her. I brought a very valuable vintage poster to "Art World" on Metropolitan Ave. in Forest Hills because I heard from a very good friend what excellent work they do... Well, I am SO impressed with the professionalism, quality of workmanship, customer service and very reasonable prices! Terri, the owner was able to match the frame exactly to another vintage poster that I have from the same artist ... She recommended an anti reflective glass and replaced the old, stained backing that the print originally came with. My print was ready well before I expected and the cost was about 20% less than I anticipated it to be. It was professionally wrapped in foam padding and paper for me to pick up and even delivered right to the back of my SUV on the street. Since this excellent experience last month, I have been going through my art and getting it repaired and reframed by Terri. I am very happy to recommend "Art World" to anyone needing top notch matting and framing work! I feel very lucky to have such an excellent, independently run business right in my neighborhood. Teri of Art World took a look at our daughter's prints, thought for a moment and asked," Do you have a vision?" When I responded that I didn't, she pulled out the perfect frame, one with just the right colors to bring out the golden hue in one of the works and the grey tones in the others. She then offered to correct the hand tearing on the pieces. I was delighted when I saw the finished work. She is a consummate professional with an artist's eye. We'll be bringing her more work in the future. read more

We came in with 5 large art prints for framing anticipating this would take us forever to figure out, but Teri made choosing the frames and mats for each print go super smoothly. She made really excellent suggestions for us and was patient as we made our final decisions. Teri was spot-on with her reasons for suggesting different mounting / matting for each picture. We are *so* happy with how they came out! Each picture, and they are all so different, looks amazing. For the pictures that went into the kitchen Teri looked at pictures of our kitchen cabinets and found a frame that worked, stylistically, with the type of doors on the cabinets, and suggested gorgeous mat colors that really make the art pop and keep your eye drawn to the piece. Getting 5 large pieces framed at one time isn't an inexpensive endeavor, and getting good frames and quality workmanship isn't cheap either, so keep that in mind. I love using local businesses. Teri and Art World did not disappoint! :) They have tons of options in frame styles, colors, materials and loads of mat colors. Much faster turnaround than we expected. read more
