Sam knows what he's doing. You need to trust this guy because his framework is a chef's kiss. I've lived in Queens all my life and his shop has been around for as long as I can remember so that should be a testament to how well he does his job. This was our first time framing so we were quite intimidated by the process. There were so many options you could choose from...from black glossy frames to black matte frames and then there were additional add-ons like shadow boxing and spacers. Sam broke it down for us and tried so many configurations, giving his POV on what would complement the artwork the best. We picked up the pieces 3 days later and we're VERY happy with it. They did a great job at a reasonable price the same day. So I got quality, affordability, and speed. That is rare. I moved to Queens recently. I thought I packed smartly, but I packed stupidly. I had two framed pieces of art, which I wrapped in many layers of bubble wrap and put into a box I custom made and taped all the way around in every dimension. But I also put in two coffee table books. As soon as I unpacked everything at the other end and heard the tinkle of glass, I realized the error. The heavy volumes must have jostled around just enough to cause damage. In any event, Sam's son took care of both. I initially wanted to replace the glass but not the frame. He called to say the frames were shot. I figured as much. I am confident this was not an upsell but a fair assessment. For other items I need framed, I have a regular place. He's professional, easy to talk to, and is NOT pushy. There are countless pieces already framed in his location that you can look at and compare.
