Nice little art supply store. Decent selection of drawing & painting, craft & school supplies. Much needed in the area.

This was an amazing place - most of it is closed off to the public aside from the small gallery at…read morethe beginning. We were fortunate enough to go with a school group and do a tour and project with Will who was spectacular and a patient guide! They are open to donations and volunteers and I think you can contact them through their site for info on that.

Attention TEACHERS and ARTISTS, I just found your new favorite place…read more I came here on a camp trip with a bunch of five-year-olds. I knew nothing about this place before arriving so I had absolutely no expectations. Five minutes into our tour, I realized that this place is gold. We were led through aisles and aisles and aisles of gently used donated materials. Here is a "short" list of some of the things that MFTA has for you. -Paper, zippers, beads, books, playbills, programs, posters, wood, full mannequin bodies and mannequin body parts, travel sized containers, glass containers, spools of thread, fabric, leather scraps, computers, printers, binders, tables, plastic containers, metal parts, labels....the list goes on for days. What's the catch?!? Not much actually. You do need a membership to reap the benefits, but if you are a teacher at a public school or work for a non-profit, everything is FREE! And don't you dare think that after a few teachers fill up cartloads of materials that you missed your chance. This place is enormous and donations are consistently flowing through their doors. Once you've filled up your cart (or your 5 carts), your only form of payment is a thank you. MFTA asks that you send a thank you to each company that you've "purchased" from. Just a few donors that Omar (our enthusiastic & informative tour guide) mentioned were Google, Macy's and Disney. Wait artists, there is more! If you create any form of art using MFTA's materials, they have a studio for you to work in right next to their warehouse of materials. Once your piece is complete, they will even showcase your work in their gallery. I don't know about you, but I'm amazed. Set up a school trip, rent a uhaul to stock up on supplies or just grab your toothbrush and move in. MFTA is an A+ in my book.

Great deals on fabrics, ribbons, threads and all sorts or sewing and knitting equipment and needs…read more As a new mother, I'm trying to be more green, and use the best most gentle products, especially for that delicate skin. So my mom took me here for me to buy the fabric of my homemade baby wipes. Plus, she's always telling me how much she likes Liz. They have a great amount of fabrics in all the materials you can think of. I chose to go with flannel. Raj (i think thats his name. Pony tail, speaks a bunch of languages) is incredibly helpful and so patient with the not so easy customers. He helped me figure out how much cloth and thread I'd need for the wipes. I ended up buying way more stuff than i needed but the patterns were so cute i couldn't help it. Their prices are reasonable, the customer service is great. And basically everything you'll need for an array of projects in one place. They have gained me as a returning customer for sure.

So today we went there to choose a fabric to redo a chair. We looked at some things, then went across the street to another store to see some other choices of fabric, and decided on one in Liz Discount. We went back in and were pretty much verbally assaulted by one of the guys that works there. We didn't do anything to deserve this, he started complaining that we were in there 10 times (we were there for the second time today, and being respectful, and just looking at fabrics). He was yelling at us in front of other customers!! We did absolutely nothing to deserve this and needless to say, we will never go back to do any more business with this place. The whole experience was just shocking. What a horrible horrible man, what a horrible thing to do to your customer!
