Some products change or take time to replenish from the local vendor/artist, so if you see something you like, I suggest you purchase it when you see it! I bought earrings for myself and a really cute/funny birthday card as a gift for a close friend. There are occasionally some events hosted here so I highly suggest following the page on Instagram for updates. I would love to attend a soundbath or purchase Filipino-themed baked goods, for example!

I stopped by when they had a small market for Filipino History Month, they even had a bartender making Filipino designed drinks on the house. It was so cool and also wonderful to see the store supporting other crafters and community members who had booths at the storefront. The space has Filipino crafts and goods inside with some vintage clothes in the back. Artwork, jewelry, candles, cards, etc. Cute store and hope to see it continue to thrive!

ArtBox, a supposedly well known stationery store in Korea. They open one up inside H Mart,…read moreoccupying the space that used to be customer service and claw machines. At first I was hopeful that H Mart would use this space for more restaurant stalls after it created a 4 stall food hall last May, followed by another 5 stall section in the summer. But no more restaurant stalls. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Browsing through the store did bring back a lot of my sweet childhood memories in Asia. Stationery stores in Asia were students' favorite stops. I remember in classes and during recess, we would show off fancy pencils, fragrant erasers, sick stickers, and transformer-level pencil cases. Well, that's what ArtBox offers, and more - what every student would love to own and show off in class. One thing that is totally unique here, well in addition to merchandise offered, is the price tags. The prices are printed in Korean Won (currency) during packaging, presumably in Korea. And the store would have a placard of "price list" at every section, tabling the amounts equivalent in US Dollars! Another observation is there was no staff in the store proper! No cash registers either. I suppose one pays at the supermarket check-out?! I suspect ARTBOX isn't just for students and kids. I think grown up women might find many desirable items here too, such as plushes. I can see this as a fun date stop after some fun dishes at the adjacent food hall. Everything is cute. Not so much for men though I'm afraid - unless they are being held hostage and under duress by their kids (or date) lol.

The aesthetic of the shop and the product offering (great fifty items, a lot of local products, fun greeting cards, plants!) is what drew me to follow them. Having a "Visit Ridgewood Day" and and shop and Stay Forever was on my to-do list this spring, but now we're all grounded. I was so happy to see that the owners took a creative way to drum up some business during a very uncertain time but selling all types of care packages. I decided to buy a surprise box for my friend, and she loved it. It included a candle and a gorgeous spring green journal. I ended up buying three more boxes for my friends' children; I cannot wait to see the pics of their loot from Stay Forever. I will definitely be visiting this local women-owned business when things get better.

Definitely worth a visit if in the area. Enjoyed their Ridgewood-specific items! Didn't love that a few different items didn't have prices, don't really ever see that. And wish they offered printed receipts, not all customers are open to providing email or phone. But alas if not, to display the prices on a customer-facing device while ringing things up, prior to payment. But if a customer is unclear, they can certainly ask the staff! Just would generally say that those things combined create an issue it's not really typical to have to navigate nowadays.

Remarkable and powerhouse store for your ups and downs of the collectible craze hitting market…read moretrends these days. The storeowners are always friendly and helpful--they even let you trade your opened blindbox if they have a sample open. This makes buying them much more stomachable. The assortment and variety changes all the time--one week i may stop by and not find anything tickling my fancy, another week I may drop by and find too many things I want to take home! You can sometimes call in on days they're closed to ask if you can visit upon appointment (they may be restocking, etc) and can accommodate if conditions are right, which I thought was a nice touch. There's a small section in the store that has seating so you can open your new toys on the spot and celebrate with glee or the gloom of disappointment if you don't get your favorite. The store is not huge nor tiny and so you could spend anywhere from 15-30 minutes looking at everything. There's generally much variety, but stock can be limited. They offer cheaper blindboxes realistically starting at $6 (cheapest I've noticed), to more expensive artisan collabs (up in the hundreds). So great place to take yourself on a date or pick out a gift for a friend healing their inner child. If you like this place, there's a Japanese stationary store right down the street too--I like to hit up the toy store and then take a stroll down the street to giddy myself up with more goodies as well over at Yoseka Stationary. Overall--I think this place beats out all the others when it comes to their variations and assortment of blindboxes, and the constantly rotating stock of what's in and available (more than just smiskis, sonny angels, labubus, hironos, popmart, etc).

Unfortunately, my experience working with him was unprofessional and frustrating. A few examples: I was told that to be included in A.R.T's August calendar, they would need a confirmation and deposit by August 5th. I paid the deposit of $200 on July 31st and submitted my poster along with the blurb by Aug 4th. However, I wasn't included in their newsletter. I had to follow up a couple times by email and phone to remind them to add me to their website. When I visited his store for the first time, he told me I could stop by the store any time I wanted, but when I did stop by, to ask about the lack of signups for my class, he cut me off mid-sentence, made me wait for 15 minutes, and then sent me home without a resolution. I ended up losing $200 on my deposit, which he claims was nonrefundable, despite his not saying so upfront. I would advise anyone considering partnering with A.R.T. to make sure all terms are in writing before making a payment.
