Lockwood is my new neighborhood addiction and I come here almost every week. If you're looking for apartment decorations and accents, various tchotchkes, festive ice cube trays, bottle openers, mini cactus, iPhone fans, mixer sets, T-shirts, drinking games and more novelty items, this is your jam. On the pricey side? Yes. But worth the investment. Not as extensive as say, Fish's Eddy as far as kitchen supplies but ample items that will do just fine in any home setting. And even for the creative workspace as well. This stuff isn't flimsy or poorly made. Each item lasts. I bought gold silly putty last week, a new crushed ice tray and cute little pins to wear so I stand out from the crowd. Plus I got an apron that I've been using each week. read more

Let me think about it. Absolutely, a treasure is what I would sum up Lockwood. It is definitely a medley of awesome. Coloring books, a miniature wooden model of the F train for you or your child? Maybe you need a pair of chopsticks with support, towels with Queens insignia, baby onesies with icons of Jackson Heights...? Or just maybe some candles, fragrances, and fancy jewelry? What I can I say? I genuinely like this place. I was able to purchase some gifts for a baby shower and make away with some ironic socks. I mean where else can you get such great randomness to uplift you when in a creative funk? I was experiencing a writing block. A must if you're buying a gift. Excellent customer service and fantastic, diverse selection of product. Had to buy a birthday gift for a dinosaur-loving three-year-old. The store associate recommended the hatching dinosaur in an egg as well as a dino book. My little friend loved his egg and it ended up being his favorite birthday present! Splendid little shop with accessories, stationary, home goods and decor, toys/games, and children's wear. We stumbled into the store unexpectedly a few weeks ago and found a 1000pc puzzle of sketched cat species (doesn't sound so cute when described like that but it was!) for a friend's birthday. So many fun items and witty posters, along with tastefully designed stationary, pretty kitchenware, a variety candles, and when I was there--Christmas ornaments and cards too. I wanted to spend an hour here looking thru all the different items. A selection of price points to satisfy a variety of customers, though generally a bit on the pricier side, but good to pay a little more to support small businesses and independent artisans. read more

Such a cute shop. Perfect for low stakes retail therapy. Can you get similar items for cheaper on amazon or Etsy? Of course. But then you'd have to wait at least two days to enjoy your purchase and you wouldn't be supporting a local business. This is my first stop whenever I want to buy a small gift for someone or when I want to browse shiny things that smell good after a hard day at work. My favorite purchase from here is a pair of plastic dryer balls shaped like puffer fish. I named them Mo and Harley and they still aid in drying my laundry over two years later. Did I need Mo and Harley? No. Do they make my life better? For sure. That's Lockwood. Very glad they're in the hood. read more

Good for a quick gift or Jackson Heights\Queens themed items; however, very expensive.

This is great place to buy a children's birthday gift, adult gifts, or a gift for just about anyone! If you need a last minute and card then this is your place. The children's section is unique with lots of cute games, puzzles, toys, and gifts for helping kids use their brain in a fun way. I love all of the unique cards as well. People don't send cards as much nowadays but if you get the urge then this is your place! This place has so many great local items too! "Do you have Lockwood Loyalty?" Why yes, yes I do! Probably because I'm always here. Rummaging through the bajillion candle assortments, salivating over the jade tableware, poking around the artsy-fartsy holiday cards, eye-ing the Knock Knock pads, flipping through the super cute jewelry, you get the picture. And also that I'm being hyperbolic here. In all seriousness, I am a fan. I had been to the Lockwood in Astoria several times so I was pretty happy it was coming to Jackson Heights. The price points (and quality) of the products are higher than this outpost's counterparts, but this is an undeniable trait of gentrification. The staff are super friendly, and of course the things sold are amazing. I've gotten gifts, things for the house, and jewelry here. They have sales and specials all the time, like their 30 for 30 sale for the month of December, where each day a select item is 30% off. Their marketing via social media is on point. They also have a cute section for baby stuff, in case any of you are in need of shi shi gifts for newborns and toddlers. read more

Opened less than 4 months ago, this Lockwood location (they have another in Astoria), is a great little local goods shop and more. I walked in on a 30% of sale, so you know I had to snag some unique housewares (a serving dish with the smooth lyrics immortalized by the great Lionel Richie, "Easy like Sunday Morning" -- yeah, I know, amaze!), and a slew of fun pins for my flair collection (think Office Space, the movie), oh and even a cute greeting card that I have in mind to gift my sister in law who is obsessed with this thing I can't quite publicize in case she's reading this review (hey girl!) lol. You should definitely get their free, loyalty card for points and eventual perks, too. They have jewelry, housewares, knick knacks, and children's toys and clothes. It's definitely a fun little place to shop and a great addition to Jackson Heights. read more

This store first caught my eye a month or two ago, which seems to be around when it opened. It got my attention because I'd never seen anything of its like in Jackson Heights before. The owner has expanded from a nearby location in Astoria and the store itself is your standard yuppie/yuccie/hipster-catering establishment, which seems a little out of place among the vibe of immigrant families and more low-key mom-and-pop's everywhere in this neighborhood. Although I do think the store is lovely and wish it success, it is something of a bittersweet prescient of what may become of beautiful, and vibrant Jackson Heights as rents in Astoria continue to rise and that neighborhood begins to spill eastward. But that is a discussion for another day. Lockwood is definitely among friends on 37th, the more "upscale" of JH's shopping streets, near places like Arunee Thai, Lemon Farm grocery, and of course Starbucks. Lockwood's offerings include home decor, candles, greeting cards and gift wrap, children's toys, a few kitchen items and books, jewelry, and other accessories. I even saw some coffee in there today. Many items have a neighborhood focus, such as mugs, necklaces, or fitted caps emblazoned with "Queens" and "Jackson Heights"--great for those of us who are as crazy proud of the 'hood as I am. I'm especially a fan of their wide selection of quality soy candles of various different brands. They carry Paddywax, Illume and at least 4 or 5 other artisinal candle brands--although not yet my favorite of all time, Votivo, which I have half a mind to ask the owner if she'll buy for me! ;) The interior of the store is clean, trendy, and appealingly merchandised. Prices here are a little high for the area, but are completely in line with what other retailers will charge for similar products. Some cheery hipster music is usually playing, and the staff here has been friendly and helpful each time I've visited. They have a free points rewards program you can join if you think you're likely to become a regular shopper. Aside from Inner Peace, Jackson Heights really didn't have a gift shop like this. So overall I think Lockwood is a welcome addition, arriving just in time for the holiday season. It is definitely worth a look if you live in the area and want to buy a quality gift without schlepping all the way to Manhattan. read more

Such a lovely store with loads of Queens pride! (though I'm a displaced Brooklynite who was lured to this great borough of low rent and affordable apartments...so I haven't mustered up the energy to actually purchase said Queens pride items) I have yet to make a purchase here, but I've visited a couple of times and just loved browsing all of their items. They have a wide assortment of candles, baby gifts, household items, handmade jewelry and cards - everything! It's definitely worth a look if you live in the area or are moving here! read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STORE!!! I basically go in this store and I come out with either a purchase or an item to be added to my wish list! I get sucked in here bc everything is sooooo cute! They curate the merchandise so well, keeping it fresh and new quite often. So, it's a store worth visiting as often as possible. I have to admit, this place is pretty awesome. They have locally branded stuff, meaning you can get bags, plaques and stuff with "Jackson Heights" or "Queens" on it. They have a great selection of socks that people seem to love now a days that have stuff in curse words all over it. Enamel pins, cool kids toys, weird trinkets and tools you can't really find anywhere else. Every time I enter this store, there is always something that I see that I never knew I needed prior to seeing it. Got myself some cat butt magnets for my fridge, very good last minute gifts for people and the staff is very friendly. They have all kinds of cool things for wine drinkers, which seems to be popular now because of where the neighborhood is going. Its really hard to open a niche shop in the heights now with all the selection going on, but this shop seems to carry just the "right stuff" to keep me coming back often just to see the new things they have. I usually come here also to get a "Grab bag" gift for parties, as they have highly unusual stuff that you wont find elsewhere. Come check them out, you might find something you like! read more
