Love this store. It's my favorite of the Lockwoods. They really have everything you can ever possibly want by way of gifts. Knick-knacks, tchotchkes, literally socks of all types, themed items. Location specific items. You name it, they probably have it. They also have a rewards program. The staff are very helpful, too. I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for their prices. They are pretty steep, in my opinion. A pair of socks cost $15. They were of a special print and the perfect gift for a friend but I'd never ordinarily purchase a single pair of socks at that price point. I understand they aren't a big box store and need to keep the lights on, especially in Astoria. Come in for all the things - just expect to pay a pretty penny. read more

I'm honestly surprised that I haven't already reviewed Lockwood. If I had to pick a favorite local boutique to buy gifts, this would be it. They have the cutest selection of gifts including NYC themed, kitchen, home goods, jewelry, baby, plants, seasonal, and more. I especially love their ornaments for the holidays. I picked up three new ornaments just this past weekend. After they holidays they typically go on sale as well. They do an annual sale around Black Friday where you get a reusable shopping bag with your purchase which entitles you to 10% off on all future purchases when you return with that bag - what more could you ask for as a customer? A few times throughout the year they'll do sales as well so be sure to keep an eye out on their social media for a heads up. They have three other Lockwood locations - Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Jackson Heights. Next door from this Astoria location they have a store called Lockwood Paper which has a large greeting card section, and any paper related products you could imagine (think pens, notebooks, wrapping paper, and more). They have cute magnets and pins as well and even carry ornaments here too. Then around the corner is Lockwood Style which has clothing, accessories, and more. I only wish I lived closer, or they had a Sunnyside, Queens Home & Gift location because then I'd be here all the time - although my wallet probably thanks me for that. read more

Not the biggest fan of Lockwood Style. The employees who work there can be dismissive and unwelcoming. I went in the other day and was going to make a purchase, but the employee was so rude that I put the purchase back on the rack and left. The store was much more welcoming and inviting when they first opened 10 years ago. Now? Not so much. I refuse to spend money there. Besides, the owner has several stores, so I don't think my decision to not shop there will affect her. read more

One of the coolest stores in Astoria! The staff is beyond pleasant and gently helpful and enthusiastic! They have an incredible inventory of some really unique gifts and the store is immaculate. I came in looking for gifts for someone else and left with a gift for myself. I've been to plenty of charming quirky stores and this has become my favorite. It is very organized and the way the items are displayed make sense! Sounds like every store would be that way but not always.. I was intrigued by their outdoor area and adored the creative plant pots they had. As for customer service? There were two staff members present and they were friendly. I even asked for something specific and one tried to search their inventory for it. I am both relieved and sad I don't live close because they would have me self-gifting often. read more

This is an awesome gift shop for shopping local. There's a variety of home goods like candles, kitchen items (glasses, tea towels, etc), jewelry, lotions, kids items, socks, and more! There was one shelf specifically dedicated to NYC/Queens items. If you're a Schitt's Creek fan, you'll appreciate all the Schitt's Creek paraphernalia like Christmas ornaments and hilarious prayer candles featuring the characters. (There are other pop culture items too; I just happen to be biased towards Schitt's Creek.) This is the kind of store you go to if you're looking for a gift but don't know what exactly you're looking for. I was able to knock out a bunch of Christmas shopping here! The cashier also helped cover up the price tags for all the gift items I bought. During COVID they are limiting capacity in the store, so you may have to wait on line outside. I waited about 10 minutes on a recent weeknight. Their other stores (for stationery and fashion) are down the block and around the corner. read more

Utterly disappointed in this store's customer service, especially if they are attempting a larger online presence (and are even hiring folks for positions for their online shopping experience!). Lockwood was part of a retail crawl in Astoria about a week(ish) ago and I had been eyeing this super cute tote bag forever. I had received a gift card for the holidays and had been saving it for a special occasion. When I saw that Lockwood was offering a discount AND that they were part of the retail crawl, I got really excited, because who doesn't love a discount and supporting small businesses? I figured, at this rate, I could get that tote bag, and also some cute, kitschy things that I had seen on the website. Unfortunately, unlike many other online retail stores, I was unable to figure out how to use the gift card on the website. So, I did what most people do these days - I inquired on Instagram. While I got a fairly speedy reply back to email a specific person (their Digital Content Director), I have essentially been forgotten about. She emailed me back once, with vague instructions of something I had done already (I literally tried EVERYTHING). I tried it again (just to be sure) and immediately replied, letting her know it did not work and could she offer an alternative solution? (I would have even taken a reply that said, Sorry, we can't take gift cards on our online platform, so, sorry, no discount for you. Full price.) It has been radio silence for the last six days. I'm sorry, but that is not what I consider good customer service. It's barely mediocre. This has soured me on the experience altogether and now I don't even want the damn tote bag anymore. read more

Lockwood is a very cute local business that satisfies the girly girl in me. As soon I saw all the shiny, glitzy products from outside, I was drawn in! If you are looking for feminine, unique clothing, toiletries, adorable shoes, candles, home goods, decor, jewelry, photo frames, and bags, not to mention wedding gifts! The prices are high (like $100 for a dress or $40 for a notebook kinda high), so catch them during holiday sales times or peep the sales section for as much as 50% off original prices. If you're not going to splurge, it's a great store for window shopping and dreaming. Service was alright. There's dressing rooms and a space to try on shoes in the back. If you're out and about, especially on a girls' day, make this a stop! read more

Lockwood didn't lack in the candle category- well, let me put it this way, all the gifts are truly adorable. The shop partners with local artisans to bring quality finds to Astoria- where shelves and walls are stocked, with a unique and timeless mix of locally-made housewares. Lots of eco-friendly candles, hand soaps (that I racked up on), a children's section, pillows, kitchen items, jewelry and even leather wrap bracelets. The best part of shopping at Lockwood for me, was selecting the few ceramic items with Gold or the pink dish- then creating my own look at home. While a gorgeous, winter afternoon turned into an excellent and impromptu shopping destination, Lockwood is without a doubt a rare find in Astoria. I really liked this shop and feel items, were priced accordingly based on quality with a nice touch of environmentally-friendly elegance and was a one-stop, natural shopping alternative for me. I love coming here and just walking around to see all the things they offer here. I love that it's a local business with many products geared towards our local neighborhood! (like Astoria cups, or Astoria maps, or Astoria t-shirts, or Astoria bags). It's so inviting and the staff is always friendly. It can get packed at times which makes it hard to navigate around because the aisles are a tight squeeze. Love this shop and great place to shop for gifts or things to add to your home! To be honest, the items are a little pricey, but I also understand because it's a local business and the items are specialized and not mass produced in a big box store. read more

I used to live a few streets over and would come in just to browse. I definitely think they have a good selection of very local- Queens/Astoria/LIC stuff that's locally made, I think of it like if the LIC/Astoria food and flea was moved indoors and open all year round it would be like Lockwood...minus the food. I feel like in a place like this, the staff are a bit more aloof because it's really made for browsing and if you have questions then they're definitely more than eager to help. I like that I'm kind of left to myself to just wander around. While I tend to agree that the prices are a bit high, the one item I buy from them-a solid cologne is actually CHEAPER than the manufacturer's website, so I definitely think they try to keep things as low as possible. They used to have a check-in deal as well for 15% so be sure to see if they still do that! read more

I love all the cute, whimsical gifts that Lockwood sells. Like most gift shops, it can be challenging to find the "perfect" gift for someone here when all the items seem great, but they have a well-curated selection of items grouped thematically to aid you in your search. Yes, it's rather pricy, and I tend to only shop here when they're running a promotion, but I really enjoy browsing the shop and having the "eureka!" moments when I peer high up on a shelf ad discover the perfect item hiding in plain sight. You're bound to find gifts for lots of different recipients on your list here, and if you're looking for items that scream "I HEART NY" without being too kitschy or tacky, this is your joint. This is my favorite spot for Queens-themed merch, and of course, it feels great to support a local business. Lockwood and Story (in Manhattan) are similar types of stores, though Lockwood's selection is more consistent though less extensive than Story's. I'd recommend both for holiday - or anytime - gift shopping. read more

She once sat next to me on the Astoria bound N train and rested her entire right side on me, I am a 5ft - 115lbs girl so she knowingly took half of my seat. Lockwood is a go-to for Queens-themed gifts and such. Prices are a tiny tad high but supporting a local business always helps with opening the wallet. I never seem to leave the shop without at least something, and I usually find good ideas for future purchases. Merchandise runs the gamut, from cards to clothes to books to kitchen items and much much more. And it's not just Queens/NYC-themed stuff! The salespeople have always been polite to me, offering assistance but letting me browse quietly. Awesome gift, accessory & clothing store with two store fronts!! It's a definite "must do" when I'm in the city. It was so neat to open a Christmas present that I knew must have come from Lockwood. What a smile it put on my face!! The store front nearest Broadway contains clothing and accessories. It features some Astoria & Queens themed tops that I am told were custom made for the store. The "Queens vs Everyone" (gray) and "Astoria vs Everyone" (navy) pullovers have a scooped neck design. They are made from a fabric that is not just cozy and warm, but also flexible for comfort. But as a warning, there are only a few of the warm, long sleeve pullovers left. The second store front is the accessory, gift, Queens/Astoria themed merchandise store. It also has some fabulous items that were created for the business. There are subway cars for the wooden tracks in the kid section. I surprised my Grandson with the "1 Train" after we had taken that line to the Children's Museum of Manhattan. He loved it!! Expect an eclectic mix of really fun shopping. The store has a rewards program that is extremely easy to use. The check out person flips the computer screen so that it faces the customer. Enter your telephone number. Done!! Your purchase has been recorded. The location is convenient to the Broadway Station on the N/Q line. Cross 31st Street. Walk two blocks on Broadway. Make a right turn. Look to your left. Voila!! You are there. Lockwood is representative of a wonderful, convenient Queens neighborhood that is "oh so near" the Upper East Side of Manhattan. read more

This is my new favorite place in the hood. SO many AWESOME finds here... from big ticket items to small fun gadgets.... I really had a hard time leaving with only 3 items. The service was friendly, the store is very well maintained, I could spend hours here and it's not even that big. There's just that much to see. Also, they carry Tokyo Milk perfumes... which was a wonderful surprise since I can never find my scent anywhere, of course it was sold out... but that's just one more reason for me to go back and stalk them until I get it. I recently realized there are 3 separate Lockwood storefronts- Lockwood Paper and Lockwood Home & Gift are both around the corner (off Broadway on 33rd st) from Lockwood Style. Lockwood Paper is a super small stationary store with an awesome collection of unique greeting cards. Lockwood Home & Gift is the biggest of the three, and it has SUCH a great selection of gifts, home goods, etc; also a smaller selection of greeting cards. I wish I knew about this place during the holidays! They have all the good brands of candles, gorgeous locally made jewelry, and even have a little section for the kiddos in the back. I had a completely redeeming and fantastic experience recently at Lockwood, and realized I needed to update my review. The sales associate was beyond helpful in pushing me to consider some items that were beyond the scope of my style comfort zone. I tried on a moto-style vegan leather jacket and remarked at how "not me" it was, and so of course I bought it, and it's my favorite new item. It was so reasonably priced, and felt so comfortable. I've had a million and one compliments on it already. I also purchased a cute pair of comfy pants, and a lovely Umgee ribbed tank with lace trim that my mom has already told me she wants to snag from my suitcase while I'm in town. I can't wait to see what they have in-stock when I'm back home in Astoria. read more

OH MY BOUTIQUE HEAVEN! Astoria has a mini-Anthro/Urban O/Delphenium Home shop! It's all my favorite stores into an awesome boutique with a great location. I was strolling on a Brunch-Saturday and glorious folding glass walls seduced me to take a peak inside a very adorable, attractive store that... can it be true? Is this place a mirage? Do my eyes deceive me that there is a walk-to small-shop that has everything that I probably don't need but desperately must have?? The aromas, the soaps, the jewelry, the clothing, the kitchen accoutrement; all adorable, all beautiful and One-of-A-Kinds from independent US vendors. You can find something for anything in there. The employees are very helpful, very groovy and they're hip and with it when it comes to emailing receipts and all that new tech stuff. I also look forward to seeing more Hellavu Sale Deals sometime or another. Say those magic words to me and I'm yours forever, Lockwood. I love this place. I recently moved to Astoria and immediately started following every and all things Astoria on instagram to find out what to do and where to go. This was a homerun find. The first time I went, I didn't realize there were 2 shops -- I was very confused when I walked into the clothing boutique and didn't see any of the home/gifts that I'd been seeing on Instagram. Left somewhat disappointed, as that was what I came for. Soon after that, I realized there was a second shop just a few steps down the side street -- totally missed that...we'll blame that on the fact that it was dark, and nighttime......... Went back to see what the second shop was like - loved it. I bought some holiday gifts and made a mental checklist of all the items I am sure I am going to go back and purchase for myself when I'm done buying for everyone else. Eclectic items, fun items, Queens-pride items - and all quality. You could honestly knock any gift giving from top to bottom here - cards, fun items for men, women, children and babies...even for pets, they sell quality wrapping paper too. So cute. Most items are a tad overpriced, but I like to shop small, so unless it's absolutely ridiculous, I try to splurge in support of the community. Service is friendly, and if you sign up for their free rewards program via email/mobile number, you get a 10% discount for use with your next purchase. This was a promo they were running when I went for the first time - not sure if it's an all-the-time thing. Can be used at the clothing boutique as well. I should say, the clothing boutique is really cute and has a large array of fashionable clothing and accessories - I got my mom a beautiful oversized Christmas scarf here. This place is so cute! I'd heard some buzz that this place would be opening in Astoria soon, but wasn't sure where or when. Turns out its on the very street I live on! I passed it while walking to dinner on Broadway and was so impressed! At first I wasn't sure what it was...it kinda looks like someone's really awesome apartment on display. But then I saw the "Lockwood" sign and remembered hearing about a new store. The storefront is this huge open space that immediately draws you in. Its honestly just awesome to look at because its so bright and fun looking! But then its filled with the coolest stuff - furniture, clothes, gifts, bags, jewelry, home decor, toys, everything! And not your average run-of-the-mill stuff, either. They have one of the best selection of inventory I've ever seen! This place is absolutely perfect for furnishing your home or picking up a neat gift for someone special in your life. They also have items that pay homage to the New Yorker in you :) I believe they're still in the "soft opening" phase right now and will be fully open in September. Stop by!
