Do guitars have to be kept in the dark? Is it a rock n roll rule or to stop damage like ancient documents? :) Well there were a LOT of guitars ranging from around £60 to a couple of grand or more (RDC would want the latter..has the latter?) They also have pedals and bridges and footpedals. Saw some keyboards..good for composing. Amplifiers, strings and some second hand stuff. They also do mail order. http://www.coda-music.com/catalog/index.php A specialist shop but well worth it if you are into guitars.

That said the sales service or rather the lack of left me feeling unwelcome. I was in there for at least 30 minutes without any staff striking up any conversation. I realise it's a difficult balance between bothering someone and letting them browse. On my way out I mentioned to the the most senior looking member of staff that they have the best selection of Fender Custom Shop guitars that I've seen in the U.K. After a pregnant pause he looked up from the computer screen and said "thanks" and quickly resumed the screen. At which point I shrugged and left. I was one of 2 customers in the store that afternoon and there were at least 3 staff on so it was far from busy. Maybe the staff thought I was just another tyre kicker or a dreamer looking at guitars I can't afford.. Either of which I'm entitled to be. I was a little dishevelled after driving 3 hours out of my way to get there. Maybe Coda Music didn't see me as a possible customer.. or maybe I was seriously considering adding a PW MB to my 5 JE's, 1 GF and 1 DG . Who knows..? Not Coda Music that's for sure. The fact is if you want to sell guitars you need to engage with all customers in some way.

An excellent local venue for not only amateur dramatics but also live jazz and classical music,…read morecomedy nights, community singing events, and more. Has a lovely and dedicated team of volunteers and staff who help run the venue, and the building has maintained its unique charm. Lovely little bar area too with very reasonably priced drinks. A hidden cultural gem right in the heart of Hertfordshire!

It's am-dram that you pay to go and see which has always struck me as frustrating but I know where…read morethe money goes. It has a full bar and a couple of rooms which I'm not sure if they use for more than one production per night but there seemed to be more than the 50-100 people in the foyer than fit into the back-room-style 'auditorium' we sat in. The play was good enough but slightly offensively amateur towards the end with bright lights and Rufus Wainright's 'Hallelujah' playing over the tanoy but while that wasn't the actor's fault it's such a small theatre community that the same repeat offenders are brought in consistently for production and direction jobs. All in all, it was fine but smacked of the kind of pseudo-professionalism that school plays throw an envious side-eye towards, while it's larger theatre cousins mop their brows and wince at whenever their drunken uncle sits at the keyboard and rouses the room into a rendition of 'Knees Up Mother Brown' with actions. Oh... and unless you know exactly where you're going, the entrance is a bugger to find.
