They both had their…read morepicture taken next to the sign for the Baths, then we went into the Baths themselves, which are underground. There were lots of activities for the children, including pitures to colour in and a quiz. They were able to pick up lots of leaflets with useful information for their project. there were also itmes for them to buy, such as replica Roman coins and jewellery. Best of all it was free, a great way to spend an hour or so on a rainy Sunday, and very educational.

A diamond of a museum in hertford. This museum is not the…read morebiggest place but contains all the history of hertford of which there is quite a lot. In the school holidays they run activity's that are fantastic, the one they ran in the summer was dinosaurs and you could add to the collage in the museum or make a dinosaur scene. All the materials were included and it cost 50p per child, the staff were very helpful as well. Upstairs they have a little children's play area and a lovely little garden out the back.

The Hitchin museum and art gallery are situated to near to the town centre in the Paynes Park area…read morenext to the library. The museum is quite small but has some interesting displays on Hitchin history dating back to the earliest settlers and coming right through to modern times - it's worth a half hour browse. The art gallery part displays pictures by local artists and also displays coursework (GCSE and A level) from locals pupils and schools studying art - much of it is of an excellent quality showcasing the talents of the local youth. I can't help thinking though that a town the size of Hitchin with its rich history deserves a better and larger museum than this.
