The staff are very friendly and will help you find any items that you require. Upstairs there is a man who repairs and cleans instruments. Hes not that cheap, but very good. He has cleaned and repaired my daughters saxophone on a number of occasions. They are based on a main road, so there is not really any parking directly outside, but just a little way up, past the esso garage, there is a little free car park. Its a bit tight to get in though.

All they ask for is new people who are not out there to find trouble, the club is a family based social club and all i can say is once your part of it you wont want to give it up. The service has times when you wish you had gone somewhere else but the atmosphere is great and you have to understand barstaff do get busy and you will be served in time (this only happens on a busy night). There are rules to abide by and following these makes the place run smoothly. The committee are volenteers and work hard to make everyone happy which sometimes can be stressfull. Non members will be asked to be signed in and pay a fee which is very good for money and the signing in is for saftey and refrence to make the club a safe and better place. anyone who moans and cant understand this wont be welcomed. But all in all well worth a night out or a day. The club offers football on tv, pool tables, booked disco or bands, karaoke, game machines and a up to date jukebox for when there is no entertainment. The club also has a upstairs function room with a bar toliets and stage with a dancefloor and great decor.
OK - So I am biased! I was born here (in1949!!) and raised in the next town (Letchworth - 3 miles…read moreaway) until I got my PhD and left for parts foreign in 1973 (Jeez I am old.....) I have SUCH fond memories of this quaint, beautiful little market town. The full-blown Tuesday and Saturday markets are a thing of the past - and the old cattle market disappeared long long ago but there are signs around the arcade area. My dear old Mum would take me on the bus to visit her sister (my aunt) and we would walk in the park, play on Windmill Hill and usually walk around the market. For instance I bought my first ever transistor radio here about 58 years ago!!! Now I just like to wonder around and soak in some of the history (and my personal history and memories) and enjoy the restaurants like the Hermitage and the OK (not great) little French Bistro (Café Rouge) Just park in the big car park near St Mary's Church (used to be the big open air market) and enjoy.

Remember to take a pocket full of 20p pieces, as the model railway is a big draw. Nice cafe with a conservatory but limited food, ok for ice creams/coffee/cold drinks but if you are planning to eat there, bring a picnic. If its wet, take wellingtons as on certain parts of the farm there are no defined pathways and it can get muddy. All in all a good day out.
