At the end of the exam, the doctor told me that she had "increased my prescription slightly." I used the prescription provided by the office to order new glasses online, but when they arrived, I could barely see through them. I compared the new prescription to my previous one and discovered that, despite being told it was increased, the new prescription was actually weaker! I called the office hoping to get some clarification or have the doctor review it. Instead, the receptionist was dismissive and argumentative. I was told the prescription was based on my responses during the exam and essentially that there was nothing wrong with it. She did not even offer to speak with the doctor. It had only been a little over a week since the appointment. At one point, I was even told that glasses don't necessarily need to be "crisp and clear" and that being slightly off is okay for some people. Seriously? I understand that prescriptions are based on patient responses during an exam, and I wasn't asking the office to reimburse me for glasses purchased elsewhere. I simply wanted someone to take seriously the fact that I was told my prescription had been increased when the written prescription actually decreased--and that I could not see properly with it. The lack of concern and customer service was extremely disappointing. I don't think wanting to see clearly and crisply through a new prescription is an unreasonable expectation.

She has that new machine that takes pictures of your eyeballs, so they don't have to dilate your eyes and ruin your day. I highly recommend it! The online store was actually very fair, accepted returns, but it wasn't a good option for me. Fast forward, the optometrist checked my prescription, and rechecked when I was in doubt without charge. The optician helped me find a stylish suitable frame, and after about a week, the precision lenses were very good, and clear at multiple distances. Sure, online is cheaper, but due to the variables, I have come to the conclusion it's not worth it unless you know the frame fit and have a simple correction. Pay a bit more (still less than many private practices) and visit the brick-and-mortar store.

At 2:35, I handed my prescription to the very nice lady who had me look at frames while I waited for the Doctor. At 4:00, after running a few errands, my glasses were done. Everybody at Pearle Vision in Mansfield was simply wonderful and I can not recommend them highly enough.
