Hello! I've been having issues with lower back pain for a few months. I received traditional treatment including injections, pills, etc. About 5 days ago my back pain changed and became much more intense. We were discussing going to the ER when my wife offered to do a quick YELP search for chiropractor in our area (Mission Valley). She found SJ. He was very close by and had excellent reviews. I agreed to give chiropractic a try with the understanding that we would still be going to the ER. My wife made the call and Steven offered to see me ASAP! Unheard of!! First off, Steven seems to be a great guy! He puts you at ease right away and explains everything. This is very cool because you feel much more involved and you should be! He took his time, and we all had fun chatting with one another. I received ultra sound and electrical stimulation and it felt soooo nice. It turns out that I was using heat and should have been using ice. I was making my lower back worse. I walked out of Steven's office with about 85% relief. Did you see I typed 84%? I never would have believed it. The treatments plus his work and information cut my pain, and I thought nothing but super strong drugs were going to help. I've been home about 3 hours now. I came to Dr Jones for chronic neck and upper back pain (caused by drunk driver who hit me in my 20s) and have visited multiple chiropractors in the past so know a great chiropractor when I meet one. Steve Jones is a MAGICIAN! I must have slept wrong, because when I woke up my neck was super painful and I could hardly turn my head to the side. Add to that the fact that it was a Saturday. If I could give Steve Jones 10 stars I would! I found him when my dad had back pain and could not get any relief, despite all of the western medicine doctors giving him pain meds, MRI, etc. Within 2 visits, my dad was able to walk, and most important, sleep! When I experienced some sciatic nerve pain, I went to Steve and he only took a couple of visits to fix. My mom needed relief from the same, off we went to Steve. My sister-in-law has chronic back pain, and so I referred her to Steve too. I guess you could say it's a family affair ;-). I went to Dr. Jones when I was around 23 when I was involved in a car accident. Like all the other reviews here I have to rate Dr. Jones with 5 Stars! In the past when in lived in NY I had pains in my back and neck and consequently had issues with sleeping. I was able to find a local chiropractor that performed the old fashioned manual spinal alignment treatment which gave me relief within a few treatments. That was the first time I had chiropractic treatment. About two years ago while living in CA I began feeling strange sensations in the back of my head. I had seen a neurologist who recommended an MRI with gallium tracer. I read up on the effects of both and decided to forgo that and since the condition didn't worsen I decided to wait and see if maybe it would disappear on its own. One day I when spontaneously twisting my head while driving I noticed a sensation running up to the spot on my head that was worrying me and thought that a nerve was pinched and that maybe a chiropractic spinal manipulation would help? I remembered hearing friends tell me that they had no luck with chiropractic treatments using machines versus the old fashioned spinal manipulation method so I decided to search for the chiropractic colleges that still teach that. I learned that The Palmer College of Chiropractic was the first school of Chiropractic in the US and is considered the highest rated. I searched under alumni in my area with good ratings and found Dr. Steve Jones. I am so glad I found him as what I was worried could be a tumor turned out to be a pinched nerve and I feel not only better but can now move my neck in full range of rotation again! I continue to visit his office at least twice a year to keep myself in good condition generally and highly recommend him to anyone who has back or neck issues. read more
