Dr. Angel is a magician. Managed to get a same day appointment with major neck and shoulder pain. He did a quick evaluation, thoroughly explained everything that I was experiencing, and what I needed to do to get back to prime working order. The adjustment was precise and incredible. Honestly, I am BEYOND mad I came here and wasted 30 minutes of my time AND money. I was super excited to come here as I've been having a lot of pain in my upper back and the doctor talked himself up like he was going to fix it. all he did was tell me about his theory of what he thought was going on and then showed me a picture he took about my posture and that one of my legs is half an inch longer than the other. The other five minutes of my appointment consisted of him cracking my neck twice and my back once and using this sound wave shock treatment on my back for four minutes. This place sounded friendly in the instagram ad and it's not at all friendly, to the contrary, I felt they were extremely rood in 100% on social skills. I felt like they we're giving you a lesson, not trust at ads. Yes I arrived 3 minutes late. But that doesn't make you talk to me in a punishing mode. UPDATE: 02/21/2023 - I have been going to Spectrum Chiropractic since 2022 and have seen both Dr. Angel and Dr. Cam. Today I saw Dr. Cam on a more Urgent Appointment. I tweaked something in my neck and thought I had a pinched nerve in my neck. I had the worst pain I have ever felt and I have a very high pain tolerance. I was unable to turn my head to the right or the left without feeling like I was going to black out and even sitting straight up hurt. I messaged Spectrum this morning and heard back from them within a very reasonable time frame. I was able to get in to see Dr. Cam today at 1130am. After talking with him and telling him what happened he told me what he thought was wrong and then proceeded to come up with a treatment plan that would best suit me. I left still feeling sore but not in the same amount of pain as I had walked in with. I am currently writing this review at 3:00pm and actually have decent range of motion and can say that my pain level went from a 15/10 to a 5/10!! Dr. Cam really showed today how much he cares about his patients and really proves you aren't just another number or $ with Spectrum Chiropractic! I will be following the stretching exercises Dr. Cam sent me along with my GP Dr recommendations. I really am so happy I found Spectrum, Dr. Cam, Dr. Angel and the whole crew!! 2022- FIRST VISIT I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Spectrum Chiropractic and Dr. Angel Ochoa-Rea! From the moment my mom and I walked in we were greeting by Evelyn who was so kind and took us right back into a room! You can tell she reviewed my record before I got there and was asking me about my job (vet tech/practice manager)! We didn't have to wait long (we arrived 20 minutes before the appointment to make sure I could find parking - that's on me) to see Dr. Angel! When he came in he made me feel so comfortable. I explained to him my issues and he listened to all of my concerns and problems. I have an issue with anxiety when being at doctors offices but Dr. Angel and his team made it feel so warm and inviting. Dr. Angel talked me through every step of the way to make sure I felt okay. During the adjustment he checked in as well each time to make sure nothing hurt, even during the shockwave (sound wave therapy)! The shockwave (soundwave) therapy was so relaxing and for someone who doesn't like medical treatments done to them (me) I LOVED IT, to know there's a device that can break up scar tissue and help promote healing in my muscles that I've done damage to is amazing! I recently saw an ad on tik tok and so glad I did- the words "body positive" really made me feel comfortable to make an appointment. I've struggled with back issues for a few years. It was my first appointment with a chiropractor, ever, so I was really nervous. So checking into the office with Evelyns amazing energy and professionalism put me at ease. She did a quick posture assessment to prep me for my appointment. I wore tighter clothes to my appointment and I think it helped to see how everything on my body aligned. I had my appointment with Dr. Ken and holy moly what a game changer! Dr. Ken was so nice and really listened to every little detail of what was going on with me. I felt heard and so so comfortable in their care. I left my appointment feeling way less pain than I walked in with, I even was able to gallop down the stairs (which I've been afraid to do for over a year) after just 1 appointment, mind you it was a little gallop but it's a huge victory for me! I have been seeing Dr.Angel for about a month now, and I can't believe it took me so long to start coming in. I am a hairstylist, "Crossfitter" and "yogi". With doing both CrossFit and yoga regularly I convinced myself I was doing everything to keep my body (and mind) aligned. Slowly my body has been telling me otherwise, so I took the plunge and made an appointment with a chiropractor. I promise, you guys, the cracks and pops are first of all not as scary as you think, and secondly so worth it! I've seen an improvement in every part of my life. Dr. Angel has helped me with my hand and shoulder pain from my job, my lifts at the gym have improved (they seriously have! It's crazy), and I am more aware of my body alignment in yoga now that I know what that actually means from working with Dr. Angel. I'm incredibly impressed and thankful to Angel. I've had an ankle injury since my early teens from playing soccer that has just continued to get worse over the years. I've been to chiropractors, podiatrists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, physical therapists and nothing has ever made even a slight difference in the pain or constant inflammation. I had given up to be honest, I came here for shoulder work from a repetitive stress injury and mentioned my ankle just so he was aware of the injury. My first visit there, after he worked on my ankle, my foot wasn't tilted inwards like it had been my whole life. I'm just shocked he was able to make such a difference and in one visit. Witchcraft. Seriously 5 stars! I had suffered an injury on a weekend and was able to snag the last Sunday appointment to see Dr. Angel as a new patient. I was so fired up and spasming i could hardly move on the table. Dr Angel thoroughly questioned my history with lower back pain and i felt extremely confident that he could alleviate my ailments. He was able to do a simple adjustment and got me feeling a bit of relief right away. I liked that the appointment making process was easy and that everything needed to fast track my visit was emailed to me including the covid-19 health assessment. The worst is having to tediously fill out info on a clipboard on arrival. Before my next appointment i received a follow up to check on my status and to let me know that a massage appointment had opened up prior to my next adjustment. Honestly. I was hesitant because i didn't feel ready and also because i had never had a massage that did anything for me The massage from Jon was the most functional massage of my LIFE. He was beyond professional, friendly, coached me through some concerns and hesitations and ACTUALLY worked on me. FUNCTIONAL. That, combined with the adjustment package (10 for $500- serious steal!) has literally given me my life back on the busiest week i have had all year. BONUS- i love that you get custom stretches through the app spectrum uses that are pertinent to your current problem. You can set custom daily reminders so you don't forget. Spectrum is an incredibly affirming place for all people but especially for LGBTQIA+ community! Their doctors and staff respect pronouns, chosen names, and do not body shame the way other places due when you're dealing with chiropractic issues. I came in with excruciating lower back pain and felt so much improvement within my first few sessions. I really wish I could give a good review. My first appointment with Dr. Angel was awesome, and he explained his methods as well as his small family business. I was very impressed by the quality of service and ethos of the clinic which is what inspired me to further invest in the $600 care package. But after my first visit the quality of care went down quickly. For my first appointment in the package, I received several emails with different appointment times, leading me to be late. This was my misunderstanding, but the desk person very kindly allowed me to reschedule. I have never seen another health service where your appointment can be changed 3, 4 times in one week without getting approval. She admitted their scheduling program had been "on the fritz". For my second appointment, I again received several emails rescheduling the appointment time. Spectrum has a "strict 24 hour cancellation policy", but the last reschedule was less than 24 hours before the appointment, and I did not get a reminder text about it. At this time I was anxious and so I showed up extra early, thinking my appointments were still in the original order. At first the staff told me they were waiting on me, and rushed me into a room, but then quickly realized their mistake. My appointment was NOTICEABLY rushed, which added to my anxiety even more, especially when I ended up sitting in the lobby for 15 minutes between appointments with a numbing agent on. I approached the desk person to explain that I was uncomfortable with how things went down. I only wished the procedure had been explained more ahead of time so I could make the decision about what would be most comfortable for my body in a non-rushed environment. The desk lady's response was that I had already signed a waiver, which was dismissive, and that all information is available on their website (the website contains a description of the technology, but not a run-down of the appointment procedure). After that appointment, I did notice the staff making an effort to explain the procedures, which I appreciated. However, this also resulted in Dr. Cam talking to me like a dog for my remaining appointments. It was clear the staff did not want to talk to me, and were unaccommodating and rude. I later called the office to reschedule an appointment for unrelated reasons, and they confirmed and emailed me. But when I came to my next appointment, the last one had been deleted. I have been emailing them about why my appointment was removed without notice, but they are trying to me the facts are not true. Honestly, due to my experience here, I don't really want to return, and I don't recommend it to anyone else. I thought I would have a relaxing and worthwhile experience for the $600 I paid, but my experience was more stressful and frustrating each visit. These issues all stem from their disorganization and miscommunication. Software can be difficult to replace quickly, but its been months and this is still affecting your patients. If they had switched to Google Calendar or even paper records all of these issues could be avoided. I really think their staff should also invest in sensitivity training if they expect to stay in business, so they do not end up talking down to patients with diverse needs who just want to improve their health. I'm truly sorry because I expected a much better experience here. I'm not sure if Dr. Angel Ochoa knows his practice is being run like this, or if they just don't care once the money is down. That being said, LaTijera Macon-Wilson is a TRULY gifted massage therapist, and I do recommend her. I believe you can schedule with her exclusively or at her own practice. read more

The most amazing REAL results! I went to Dr. Ochoa-Rea today and last Saturday and the pain and discomfort I had was incredible. He adjusted me and I'm feeling so much better. Very thorough, professional and made me very comfortable. I couldn't and still can't believe how much better I feel physically and mentally. I didn't realize how much pain I was in and how it affected me (grumpy and mean). My hip was rotated backwards and down 1/2 a centimeter. Which is a lot when normally it's mostly 1/8-1/4 seen in patients with hip/lower back discomfort. I'm not feeling that compressed tight aching pain in my lower back/butt area anymore. I'm so glad I went there and anyone who thinks chiropractic medicine doesn't work or is on the fence, I URGE YOU to go see Dr. Ochoa-Rea at Spectrum Chiropractic. I came here last year because I was having back problems. First off they don't take insurance and after confirmation from other people, they get everyone to do this $700+ package. That include 4 adjustments and a massage. The first couple were fine because they were from Angel but the front desk wasn't great at communicating when Angel was gonna be late. Then my third visit Angel wasn't available due to a family emergency, which I get, but I wish I knew beforehand. Cam did my adjustment and did a horrific job. He only adjusted one side of my body and then he adjusted my wrists BUT after I left I was in severe pain for 3 days. It felt like he dislocated something. Not to mention the front staff, Cam, and the aides weren't communicating anything to me. I was waiting for over 25 minutes. What's interesting is they charge you if you're late but they obviously don't give you a discount if they're late. It's a double standard and for the service I received I should've gotten a refund. When angel got back I explained everything to him and he just defended his staff the entire time and essentially didn't acknowledge any of the issues I faced. Idc if Cam adjusts him, he adjusted me incorrectly and messed me up. Not to mention the masseuse is transphobic which is disgusting considering this is supposed to be a safe space for queer people. She completed invalidated transwomen and say they were both genders. COMPLETELY INCORRECT. Transwomen are WOMEN. So if you want to go somewhere insanely expensive, that might make you feel worse depending on who you see, wastes your time, and is TRANSPHOBIC go to spectrum. Such a shame to feel like you're going to a queer friendly place but to feel like shit. I tell everyone I know not to go here. Also something insane is I was in a car accident after seeing them and paying the $700 whatever amount, and yet they sent a bill to my lawyers. Idk how tf either of them knew about each other. But I had to let my lawyers know that the amount was paid off and then that was verified. Get it together Spectrum. read more

Moving out here to San Diego I have been to 2 other chiropractic practices and Spectrum stands out the most significantly. The entire staff is friendly and I am so grateful for Cameron who does my adjustments. I was desperate to find relief for my shoulder and neck pain as I am a Lash Artist and my posture needs some straightening out. I was experiencing a lot of tightness and nerve pain. The work and strain I put on my body I knew would need some TLC and I felt so much relief after just 2 visits. This made it very affordable for me to get the help I needed with the numerous out of whack areas of my torso. Dr. Angel has been perfect at finding the underlying issues associated with my pain.
