STAY AWAY from Dr Samimi…read more I know it's a group practice. I don't know any other doctors at this practice. I was just referred to Dr Samimi through my ophthalmologist. I wish, he wouldn't refer me to Dr Samimi since I had a tiny swelling after a hit to my lower eye lid, which has not completely gone. I was not really concerned about that since I was seeing the improvement but very slowly. My ophthalmologist got so persistent and wanted me to see Dr Samimi. Most likely he wanted to give business to his friend, Finally, I set up appointment with Dr Samimi. As soon as Dr Samimi Saw my eyes, he said it's a filler and can easily be removed by injecting an enzyme. He rushed me to set up appointment. At the day of procedure, he was extremely nervous b/o the interaction he had with the patient prior to me. I saw him in a very bad mood and I asked, why he was in a very bad mood. He said, he explained everything to the patient and the whole family came and wanted him to explain all over, and he got very upset b/o that. A professional doctor has to be patient with the patients, In general He looks a very nervous person and the type that looses his temper easily, not a good candidate for medical field, To my understanding, he is not a professional and ethical doctor, and doesn't share all he is planing to do. Not only, he couldn't dissolve that tiny swelling, he created a major complication. I called the office and complained to the staff, they asked me to take some photos of my eyes and email them, He called me back and was apologetic and was saying, he sympathize with me. I didn't want his sympathy or apology, I just didn't want to end up to have a major damage to my eyes, after this procedure for something very minor He called one more time and left a message, to follow up with me, supposedly to calm me done. His staff kept calling and leaving messages to go to office and set up appointment. I was telling them I would never go back to their office, and file a complaint to medical board, and hire an attorney. My lower eyelid didn't have any issue, just a tiny swelling after a hit, and nobody could even see that, which I accidentally, hit my eye to the car door while opening the car door. Right now, I am desperately looking for another doctor to take care of his mess. I am a dentist and in medical field. I hate to write a negative review in my profession. What he did was an absolute damage not fixing the problem, which was too minor. I will post my photos on my following reviews, so everybody can see what he did to me, before and after procedure Please never go to him. All you get is just damage, not fixing the issue. I definitely don't RECOMMEND this doctor, based on my HORRIBLE experience. We should always choose a professional, honest, with great manner and very patient that can keep his peace and ease at any situation.

I had unusually complex cases of brunescent cataracts (4+ and 4+++, weak corneal endothelium, and…read moredesire to maintain excellent close vision (-5 range). Dr. Devgan saved my sight and my life. Conventional ECCE surgery was the only recommendation from highly successful surgeons in SoCal including Kaiser Foundation who 99% of the time dealt with non-complex cases and quick surgeries using phacoemulsification procedures to extract the cataract lens which include high frequency vibrational aspects which generally do not disturb the posterior capsule or retina. However, in my case, using phaco could induce surgical or post surgical retinal detachment. ECCE (pre-phaco and femto surgical techniques were commonly used and was the only method recommended by other surgeons for 15 years). ECCE involves piercing and entering the anterior lens capsule through the cornea. This could result in a failed cornea and require a corneal transplant. ECCE also involves a very large incision, sutures, a protracted recovery and extended convalescence of many months. Greatly increased astigmatism generally results from such complex cases. Dr. Devgan perfected MSCIS surgery with 40,000 surgeries. This procedure uses a scleral tunnel technique wherein the small incision is made in the white of the eye (sclera) proximate to the lens capsule chamber and extracts the cataract lens and installs the IOL (implant lens), generally with the flap closing without sutures (I required 3 small hidden nylon sutures and one quick dissolving front suture). The operation and post surgery was painless. It did not disturb the retina as there was no strong phaco vibration involved. My corneas shrank back close to a safer thickness the day after and continued to become normal size (they were 120 micron edematous pre-surgery with weak endothelium structure). Four days post surgery I obtained corrective lens with nearly perfect vision which after 6 weeks met the exact corrective expectations of Dr. Devgan. He illustrated the mathematics of various IOL options for resolution distances per diopter of correction so I could choose the correction I wanted (3.5" inches to about 10" without glasses with prime focus at 8", then distance glasses). Dr. Devgan has mastered every aspect of manual manipulation for cataract surgery including use of alternative devices and securing the eye's physiology without resorting to more invasive phaco and ECCE techniques in preserving vision and greatly reducing negative potential mishaps during and post surgery. I owe my sight to his superior knowledge and experience. My optical case is in the 1% difficulty of cataract surgical challenges. For the majority of cataract cases, Dr. Devgan uses the least invasive techniques, the quickest surgery while preserving all optic physiology and in my case, 100% success, no pain and extremely quick recovery. I had 100% confidence when I was wheeled into surgery. The many prior surgeons I consulted made me feel afraid and extremely anxious to have them perform an ECCE type surgery. We are fortunate in SoCal to have the finest cataract surgeon located here.

Through both surgery days and checkups, he explained complex medical details perfectly and shared in my recovery. The optometrist also put me at ease during my exams. Thanks to this team, I had my surgeries with more ease. Following his advice (monofocal lenses, target vision of -2.0), I now enjoy a comfortable life indoors and only need glasses when driving. He even told me I could play ice hockey just a week after surgery! Dr. Devgan is a truly wonderful surgeon, and I recognize him as the absolute best.

I felt completely comfortable being vulnerable and discussing the areas I was concerned about. Dr. Hwang took his time with every area, listened carefully, and validated all of my concerns and questions. I never once felt rushed or like I was just another potential client. Immediately after leaving, I decided to move forward with a full mommy makeover with Dr. Hwang. My procedure included a tummy tuck, Lipo 360 on my back and abdomen, BBL, laser skin tightening, plus a breast reduction and lift without implants. Leading up to surgery, the team was incredibly organized and attentive. I received all paperwork, instructions, and communication promptly, and every question I had was answered quickly. It continually reinforced that I had chosen the right surgeon. On surgery day, I arrived at the surgical center and was greeted by one of the kindest and most compassionate teams imaginable. My nurse and anesthesiologist went above and beyond both before and after surgery, making me feel truly cared for and like the most important person there. Recovery was, of course, challenging because of the extent of my procedures, but Dr. Hwang and Sandie personally checked on me every single day through texts, offering support and guidance so I never felt alone during the process.
