I went to Dr. Samimi for a surgical Exxon of a lipoma in my right eye. He was very professional and personable. The office was modern and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The surgery was performed under local anesthesia. They started with a gel-like topical anesthetic so I did not feel the local injection. I had upper and lower blepharoplasty with fat transfer to my temples and lower cheeks. I highly recommend Dr. Samimi and his staff. I highly recommend Dr Samimi. I needed a Chalazion removed from my eyelid as my eye became so dry and vision became blurry. At first the office told me they were booked till October but I explained the situation and they fit me in 2 days later. I was terrified because I watched YouTube videos of how doctors remove them and well it looked barbaric. But Dr Samimi thinks outside the box and managed to do it really almost pain free! He used numbing cream and I only felt a very small prick of the needle to numb it further. He was so gentle and precise. I was impressed! He told me I could expect my eye to have some red discharge but I did not. He also told me to expect to look very bruised which I don't! It's cause he is so good at what he does. He didn't take my HMO insurance and they only charged me $500 and I was quoted $1200-$2,000 by another doctor in Beverly Hills. I'm so glad my Ophthalmologist refered Dr Samimi! Back when Yelp was new, I took it very seriously. I reviewed just about everything I did. I was part of the LA "Yelp community" including social events etc. That eventually slowed when Twitter came around. So you can see I've been at this a long time. In the last several years, I seem to only Yelp when I want to either boast about a business or warn people of horrible service. Dr. Samimi is worthy of my time here. Having reached my 50's, things, as expected, start to drop and sag a little. I'm not an incredibly vane guy but I did have an "issue." I had a pea-sized lump in my lower eye bag area that stuck out even more when I smiled. There was a bit of "bag" under my other eye, but if they were both like that one, I'd feel it was just normal. I wanted this pea-sized lump gone and started looking into surgery. Based on a recommendation, I was pretty much decided and ready to go to San Diego with a doctor there, but at the last moment, I went back to researching my home area of Los Angeles. I came across Eyesthetica a few times and the more I read, the more I thought to trust a place the specializes in eyes. I was clearly on the fence since the "other place" was a recommendation. Having to deal with travel to San Diego just started to seem daunting. Then I met Dr. Samimi. He evaluated my situation and really listened to my concerns and studied my eyes. He spoke with confidence and knowledge. He gave me a few options and I immediately had his trust. I decided on a couple procedures on both eyes with my biggest concern being symmetry. We scheduled surgery about two weeks out. I took it upon myself to go in a day ahead and get my prescriptions handled first so after my surgery, I could just go home and not deal with it. I'm glad I did since after the surgery, I looked like I just got out of the ring with Mike Tyson followed by a few free shots by George Foreman. The only meds I didn't need were pain meds. There was the expected discomfort for maybe a week, but simply no pain. As of this writing, I'm just under the 6-week mark of recovery and all the swelling is gone and I'm only treating a soon to be virtually invisible tiny scar with scar gel. Only 6-weeks out and I keep staring in the mirror in amazement. Dr. Samimi is a miracle worker. As recent as a week ago, it didn't seem I would have symmetry in my face even after all this, but somehow, as the last of the swelling has subsided, it all looks amazing compared to before. I'm a bit more shy that others, so I won't post my pics, but if you're wondering how legit my post is, go back and look how many reviews I've written and how long I've been at it. This is 100% legit. I've never been bought or paid off. If I was the least bit unhappy with anything, I would say it. So to wrap this up, if you're considering Dr. Samimi, just go meet with him then let your gut guide you. He really knows what he's doing. And being a specialist in eyes, that really makes a difference. I have zero regrets and I can also say, Dr. Samimi is really a good person. He cares about his work and wants you to be happy. After my dads blepharoplasty procedure, Dr. Samimi was well aware of my fathers dissatisfaction. Since then, Dr. Samimi and I have been in contact and have spoken over the phone about this as he wanted to ensure questions were answered and both parties were pleased. He was sincerely sorry for what had happened and wanted to do right for his patient. We communicated and I can hear in his voice that he was distraught that a patient of his wasn't satisfied. When I went in for the consultation, I found the staff to be organized and Dr. Samimi punctual. I was struck by his energetic demeanor and youthful good looks - I even wondered whether he was old enough to have a degree in medicine, let alone practice surgery .... and on MY eyes. He handled me with the poise and confidence that one can only derive from years of successful practice and a sense of achievement. He quickly revealed himself to be meticulous and accurate, assessing my situation and formulating his recommendations with no hesitation. Ten minutes with him were enough for me to turn my bags and circles over to him, knowing that he would dispose of them safely. But it wasn't until after surgery that I realized that Dr. Samimi's success was not only accomplished through diligence a steady hand: he is also artistic. He didn't wipe 20 years off my face, or stretch my skin over a drum: he found, and returned me to myself. It's not often I can be so positive about experiences with health issues and care providers. I had tear duct surgery to open blocked drains that prevent my eyes from draining. Dr. Samimi's operation was simply fantastic from top to bottom. Office staff, medical staff, O.R. check-in, doctors, nurses and orderlies were most pleasant, efficient, communicative, and showed a sense of care during a time that is always a bit nerve-racking as a patient. And Dr. Samimi himself consistently took time to explain things and answer questions. His demeanor and attitude never felt rushed or dismissive. I realize these facilities care for an enormous amount of patients, so I am always very appreciative not to feel hurried or talked down to. I understand that the emphasis of their practice is aimed at cosmetic procedures. But I was not given short shrift. First let me say that I absolutely hate going to the doctor, so the fact that I'm writing this 5 star review says a lot! I needed to have a mole looked at that I had on my caruncle (the pink blob in the corner of your eye) so it was a necessary visit. I was referred to Dr. Samimi by my optometrist and it turns out he was the same doctor that my daughter saw about two years prior! Wow! Small world and what a relief! He's the type of doctor that makes you feel as if you've known him forever- very personable and warm. Even better, he doesn't try and upsell you on cosmetic procedures (like every other doctor!) I felt at ease knowing he would be the one working on such a delicate and important part of my face. I ended up needing to have the mole removed, so on the day of the procedure I prepared for the worst. I thought I would be half blind and in pain for at least a couple of days, but I literally walked out feeling like all I had done was put drops in my eyes. It was quick, painless, and I probably didn't even need to skip work that day! My mole is gone and you can't even tell it was ever there. I brought my 9 year old daughter to Dr. Samimi's Santa Monica location because she had a stye that just would not quit! It was determined that it had to be removed surgically and I was referred to Dr. Samimi. We went to the surgical center in Encino for the actual surgery. Dr. Samimi is warm, attentive and thoughtful. I had upper and lower eyelid surgery with Dr. Samimi on May 6th, 2014. I was referred to him by my eye doctor in Santa Monica, who highly recommended him. I am really happy with the results and I'm glad I had the surgery. My upper eyelids were quite droopy. I am 63 and age had taken its toll! Dr. Samimi tightened up the left and right upper eyelids. Everything looks much better and I can see better. Dr. Samimi also did my lower eyelids and there is a huge positive change in my appearance. I don't have bags or large indentations anymore. Everything looks great. He did a really good job. This was a scary operation for someone who has never had eye surgery, but Dr. Samimi was very reassuring and skillful. One concern I had was that I didn't want to have any alarmingly drastic or noticeable changes. I just wanted to look better, with positive subtle changes, and that is exactly what the results were. I guess you would call it "stealth plastic surgery." You have it and look better, but people can't figure out why! I recently went to a party where I hadn't seen some of the people for years. One friend kept looking at me and finally she said "You look younger. I'm not sure why, but you do." I actually hadn't done the surgery to look younger, although I know a lot of people do. I was just tired of people telling me I looked very tired or sad. No one says that to me anymore, and when I look in the mirror I see a very refreshed, rested person. I really liked Dr. Samimi and was very impressed with his expertise. He was easy to work with, explained everything and has a great personality. He's very conscientious and caring. Right before the surgery, he told me that I might question whether I had wanted to do this when I saw the bruising and stitches after the surgery, but that things definitely looked better with time. That helped a lot and he was right. He is also great with follow-up appointments and lets you know what to expect as you go through the recovery process. I had the surgery three months ago and I am almost completely healed and feeling great. I would recommend this surgery and Dr. Samimi completely. P.S. Dr. Samimi is amazing! I was referred to him only by chance, & I will never trust another eyelid specialist! I was seen by another before I went to him, and wasn't really explained much. Dr. Samimi has great bed side manner and profssional. He takes his time with every patient, you never feel rushed. Great at answering any questions you have. And I have probably asked some pretty ridiculous ones. Lol. I went to him with an orbital tumor in my left eye. It was obvious to him that it was growing. He gave me a few options, but really wanted it out, it was already causing me other issues and problems. I was extremely nervous and scared to have a ugly scar on my face, but he did an amzing job! He made sure to go along my eyelid to hide it. Now 2month post-op and the scar is almost nonexistent! It's not at all noticible to anyone who is unaware that I had surgery! Dr. Samimi is awesome! I got the news last week that I needed to see a plastic surgeon for a growth on my eyelid. Eyesthetica was able to set up an appointment with Dr. Samimi for early Monday morning! Anyways, come Monday morning I was greeted by the friendly receptionist, followed by the good doctor himself. He was very friendly and thorough while performing my consultation. After the exam he gave me my various treatment options. I was lucky to have a easy in-office type removal. A few squirts of eye numbing drops, some numbing cream and some numbing shots and we were good to go. There was a separate more sterile room for this type of procedure but he was very thorough and fast. The most painful part or the experience was probably the first numbing shot and the bright lights he used while he removed the growth. In other words, it was pretty quick and painless... Best of all, very minimally invasive so I could immediately go back to my daily routines. Can't wait to see what my final result is after a few weeks of healing, but it already looks much improved so I'm sure it will be fantastic.
