Horrible experience…read more Initial problem: I bought a refrigerator from home Depo and needed a new T- line valve ran that home Depo required . Home Depo wanted a plastic line with a t valve installed . Plumbers: service plumbers came to the home and we agreed on work needed and price . After negotiating work. We agreed on a time and date . Installment: plumbers cut a hole in the wall and did not clean the mess or fix the hole . They also decide on their own behalf to not install the plastic waterline. They left the copper line and installed a turnoff where the refrigerator would be. When I asked them why they did that their reply was " it didn't need it and gave me the run around" . They also left their "tools" twice and had to come back to pick it up. Outcome: home depo came out to install the refrigerator and refused to install the water line . Called a different company and got the problem resolved . Advice: I'm a Feild tech also, I understand workmanship and code. To take the easy way out is not acceptable. Complete the job fully and move to the next . I am not satisfied with the work I received and will not be recommending their services to future company's or clients .

I am usually skeptical of businesses on Yelp with nothing but 5-star reviews as nobody's perfect…read moreand it's just too easy to post fake shill reviews. Nonetheless I gave Harmonic a chance and am happy I did. I'd give them 4 stars just to break the trend, but that wouldn't be fair as they really are the best service provider I have seen in years. They communicated well both on the initial call, and during the appointment. The dispatcher Liz actually called to tell me they'd be running 30 minutes late and confirmed with me that that would be okay. Nice touch. Tony (an owner) came out at the new time and properly assessed the situation and presented a couple solutions. As I am a well-informed customer, (maybe too informed for some) I am always appreciative of techs who are not scared off by my technical questions and don't try to snow me. Tony had no problem that I knew the jargon and the systems in play, and was a consummate professional. He even stated that he wouldn't be suggesting a maintenance program as it was obvious I had that in hand. The price for the call was very fair ($79) and the price for the service performed was also fair. This alone sets them apart from most HVAC people in the western suburbs where up-front gouging is the norm. Too many companies both big and small want to charge you crazy prices just to show up and then have the stones to put the screws to you from there on. He never came close to suggesting I replace my 18 year old system. For HVAC folks, that's test number 1. LOL It's clear to me that Harmonic is building a reputable business that will provide a valued service without all the greedy nonsense. They are not a bare-bones cheapest-on-the-block operation by any means, but they are also clearly not out to rip you off like so many others. I have no doubt they will be around for a long time. I recommend Harmonic and will call them again when I need an HVAC pro.

And they have reasonable prices and more than anything else. I appreciate their honesty. I can't tell you how many times before this in our 20 year-old home we have had other services, "big name" heating and cooling service services come out and tell us that our heater was on its last lap and it wouldn't last the winter. That was over five years ago. Hobson Plumbing & Heating didn't came out and told us they can always get parts for our particular heater and it would be a minor repair if anything considering we had replaced a few things already. I can't ask for more than that. We are now on their service plan which contains evaluations on our heater, air conditioner, water softener, plumbing, Overhead, sewer, etc., throughout the year free of charge. I trust that anything that these guys do will be an honest assessment of any repairs necessary. And my neighbors can attest to that also. Because they also use their services and are very happy with them. I can't recommend this family owned business enough. With all the dishonesty regarding these kind of repair services, it's a refreshing change to see an honest family business like this one. AAA+ 5 Stars!!! Thank you.
