While I cannot speak to the work regarding windows, the siding and soffit experience was awful. The entire process was terribly unprofessional from the signing of the contract until present - yes, I am still finding issues that need to be addressed weeks after installation. The salesman/customer representative was condescending and would gaslight me regularly regarding previous conversations and expectations (totally different before the contract was signed) and rarely kept me updated (I was the one that had to reach out to him) on the status of the project during the waiting period (10 months between signing the contract and when work began) nor were any project details confirmed with us prior to the installers starting - which proved problematic as things were done not as we liked.
As mentioned, the installers were very rushed and cut many corners many of which I pointed out to them. During the final inspection, I was even told that I would be charged to fix issues that I pointed out. Luckily, I was able to push back and get it taken care of. The installers also left many nails on the grown (including the driveway) and left a ton of scrap wood (that they removed from the house) that I had to dispose of. A couple of examples of the issues I experienced:
* The lip of the facia metal was cut too wide resulting in a flimsy fold and a super wavy finish. Not only did this look really cheap but was causing the soffit to be too loose inside. Luckily I called this out and (after some resistance) they installed another layer with a double-bend which is much stronger and didn't look as wavy.
* The corners of the soffit were rotting and needed repaired. I discussed this with the salesman prior to signing the contract and he assured me they would replace the rotten pieces. When I caught the installers simply covering up the rotted sections, I called them out and had to have a lengthy discussion with the salesman explaining how we discussed replacing these sections and after much gaslighting, he agreed to replace the rotting wood.
* The back storm door would not open all the way as it was getting caught on the newly installed soffit. Showing this to the salesman, he said this was fine and it didn't need to open past 90 degrees (which it didn't even open that far). After a more forceful conversation, he agreed after some resistance to fix it. Now let me say, the guys who took care of this were fantastic - very friendly and respectful.
* There was several issues with the trim and caulking job on the front of the house between the windows resulting in a very cheap and unpolished finished. After confronting the salesman (yes, everything felt like a confrontation with this guy) about this, he said I would need to pay extra to have them fix the trim and widen the opening. I explained that the strategy he implemented was never approved (or discussed) by us and we were not paying to have it corrected. Thankfully, he agreed (after much pushback) and they fix it the next business day.
Writing this review, I am currently having to deal with falling flood lights and loose downspouts. Overall, I had to fight to get the expected result and what should've been a fun and exciting project turned out to be very stressful and frustrating. While we are mostly happy with the finished product, it was like pulling teeth to get us here. read more
