The service department in New Orleans is actually pretty horrible, if they ever call you back to schedule in the first place. At Giles, the service is prompt, professional, and thorough both in the sales and service departments. The people in the sales department are actually knowledgeable about the cars they sell, which is refreshing. It really feels like you're dealing with experts. Getting your car serviced is as stress-free as it can possibly be and the service managers communicate very well throughout the process. They have a great system in place that keeps you in the loop while your car is being taken care of. They are always very friendly and polite as well. They tend to have a smaller fleet available for purchase than some of the other dealerships, but they run a very organized business, so I don't think they need hundreds of cars on their lot to provide good options. Worth the trip to Lafayette if you're in the market for a Volvo. I will be ordering my next custom build from Sweden at Giles.

He went above and beyond to be accommodating, working with me on a plan that would help get me in the car I wanted at payments I could afford. I'm so grateful! My car is in the shop for final touch-ups and I was provided a loaner until my car is ready. Chris had the loaner clean and gassed, when he noticed metal in a tire and it was leaking air. I appreciate this kind of attention detail that saved me car trouble on the Atchafalaya Basin. He switched it out for another loaner. No looking around for a salesperson, no hem hawing around, he did not pass us off to someone else. He went over every detail of the truck--introduced us to the service department---took us to finance, and after purchase he still wasn't done. Purchased a used Audi Q7 from Audi Lafayette on 10/31/2023. The inspection report they gave me…read moreincluded "Battery Condition-Post Condition and Midtronic Test/GFF Test" with a "Pass". As I soon learned, the battery condition was not inspected. It was swollen. The posts were slightly corroded and leaning from being swollen. It had 314 out of 850 possible cranking amps. Yes, it was "As Is" but "As Is" was based on the report they gave me. I had purchased the vehicle with the intent of taking a trip to Alabama and Tennessee two days later. Ended up having to jump it off and/or trickle charge overnight for several days until I could get it replaced. The cost was over $500. I was 554 miles away and they had the gaul to tell me, "Management asked if you can bring it here they will take care of the battery." This was of course after I knew the condition of it. Would never have left home with it if I'd known before. No way I was taking a chance of driving that far to have them replace it, mainly for the risk of damaging the electronics in the car. They refuse to compensate me for any of it. They will not stand behind their sales and they obviously will lie about the condition of their vehicles. Do not buy a used vehicle from them!

I've bought several new cars in my life and it has always been a nightmare. I came in prepped for a fight. There were some negotiations, certainly, but nothing overly unpleasant. I also expected to have a bunch of tacked on cost when we went to sign for it, as I have at another dealership in Lafayette, but we told them we didn't want the things they offered and that was that. On the service side, I came in to take care of an easy to fix recall, and got them to change the oil and rotate the tires while I was there. Whole thing took about an hour, which was less than I expected. I would buy a car here again and I will come back for service.

Extremely disappointing experience with Sterling Hyundai…read more Our 2024 Hyundai Tucson was left with Sterling Hyundai in Louisiana for a factory warranty A/C repair. We had to return home to Texas, so the dealership kept our vehicle and arranged warranty transport. We were repeatedly told the vehicle had been picked up and shipped to Texas. After days with no information, we located OUR OWN CAR through Bluelink--it was still sitting on Sterling Hyundai's lot. We were then told it had supposedly left Tuesday and "reappeared" Friday, yet the service advisor could not tell us who picked it up, where it went, who had possession of it, or why it returned. Approximately 520 unexplained miles were added while the vehicle was in their custody. We requested transport records, chain-of-custody information, mileage documentation, photos, videos, fuel level and damage confirmation. None of these requests were answered. After weeks, the vehicle was finally transported to Texas--without anyone notifying us. We only knew because Bluelink showed it moving. When we arrived to pick it up, the vehicle was filthy: empty soda bottles, sticky seats, mud throughout the interior and cigarette ashes. It was clearly smoked in. We had to pay for an ozone treatment, and the smoke smell still remains. Then we discovered the original A/C warranty repair wasn't even fixed. We had to leave the vehicle at the Texas dealership for another diagnosis. We have now spent approximately $3,500 on a rental while continuing to make payments on a vehicle we couldn't use. As of September 30, we have received no reimbursement, no explanation for the 520 miles, no accountability, and no meaningful response from Sterling Hyundai or Hyundai Corporate despite repeated calls, voicemails and written requests. This went far beyond a delayed repair. We entrusted Sterling Hyundai with our vehicle and cannot get a straight answer about what happened to it while it was in their custody. The smoke contamination and unexplained mileage have also potentially diminished the vehicle's value. We are still waiting for Hyundai and Sterling Hyundai to make this right.
