Let me start by saying that I have owned over 15 Nissan's of which most were new off the lot. I…read morepurchased some in Indiana in my hometown and now 3 since I moved to Louisiana. Additionally, I purchased a BMW, a Jeep and most recently a VW in Louisiana so that would make 3 Nissans and 3 others since 2006 for me. I am a car enthusiast and have owned 30+ cars in the last 30 years. Overall, I have always loved Nissan's but the quality is dwindling over the years. The vehicles that were made in Japan and sent to the USA have unfortunately always been more reliable than the USA built models. That aside, Nissan still gives some of the best bang for the buck on cars. The dealership is really the make it or break it and although I disagree with things like changing brake fluid and air filters that are clean but have 10k miles on them, the service department at Giles is trustworthy. They are very conservative in that "if it looks worn or is at the recommended mileage to change it then it needs to be changed". I know this is to minimize liability but as an engineer who has built race cars sometimes any logical thought is bypasses by mileage policies. With all that said, if your looking for a Nissan, they are the best dealer in the area. Come in prepared to negotiate and have your numbers worked out. If anyone can make "the deal you want" Giles can if they want to. Good luck!

However, instead of processing the transaction as agreed, your staff listed me as the purchaser of the vehicle without my authorization or consent. This is a serious error and shows a lack of professionalism and integrity in handling financial paperwork. Such actions create unnecessary complications and reflect poorly on the dealership's business practices. Because of this experience, I want to make it clear that I will never purchase a vehicle from Giles again, nor will I recommend your dealership to anyone I know. I expect this issue to be corrected immediately and the documents adjusted to reflect the original intent of the transaction -- with me serving only as a co-signer, not the primary buyer. Please confirm in writing once this correction has been made.

I am sure that the rest of the staff are just as great. The whole team is very professional and willing to help out any way possible. As far as the car goes, I look for excuses to go drive it. I reccomend this dealer to anyone who wants a real satisfying experience. Bob Olman

As I soon learned, the battery condition was not inspected. It was swollen. The posts were slightly corroded and leaning from being swollen. It had 314 out of 850 possible cranking amps. Yes, it was "As Is" but "As Is" was based on the report they gave me. I had purchased the vehicle with the intent of taking a trip to Alabama and Tennessee two days later. Ended up having to jump it off and/or trickle charge overnight for several days until I could get it replaced. The cost was over $500. I was 554 miles away and they had the gaul to tell me, "Management asked if you can bring it here they will take care of the battery." This was of course after I knew the condition of it. Would never have left home with it if I'd known before. No way I was taking a chance of driving that far to have them replace it, mainly for the risk of damaging the electronics in the car. They refuse to compensate me for any of it. They will not stand behind their sales and they obviously will lie about the condition of their vehicles. Do not buy a used vehicle from them!

Sterling was the closest KIA dealer to our location. Gabriel and the other members of the service department were awesome. They got us in quick and found the issue. Started the fix asap. However, he and all the others at Sterling Kia in Lafayette, La. bent over backwards to help me out and show me dozens of new Tellurides in several of the different trims! He took the time to go through all of the features and different options since I wasn't familiar with them. I was able to test drive two and was completely floored at how much room and power these mid-size SUVs have. They are VERY sharp looking too. The harsh reality is some things aren't meant to be, and I ended up getting a different vehicle elsewhere that fit my budget, but I can't thank Trevin and the crew enough for their patience and assistance. I did purchased a vehicle from Sterling Ford in Opelousas back in 2013 and was VERY impressed with the service, respect, and professionalism I was shown. If you are in the market for a Kia, look no further than Sterling Kia and give Trevin a hollar! Cheers! J.J.L.

The service department in New Orleans is actually pretty horrible, if they ever call you back to schedule in the first place. At Giles, the service is prompt, professional, and thorough both in the sales and service departments. The people in the sales department are actually knowledgeable about the cars they sell, which is refreshing. It really feels like you're dealing with experts. Getting your car serviced is as stress-free as it can possibly be and the service managers communicate very well throughout the process. They have a great system in place that keeps you in the loop while your car is being taken care of. They are always very friendly and polite as well. They tend to have a smaller fleet available for purchase than some of the other dealerships, but they run a very organized business, so I don't think they need hundreds of cars on their lot to provide good options. Worth the trip to Lafayette if you're in the market for a Volvo. I will be ordering my next custom build from Sweden at Giles.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Mr. Hunter for taking the time to personally look into the matter and ensure that the issue was properly corrected. Thank you as well to Edwin, my service advisor, for your guidance throughout the process, and to Charity for your patience, professionalism, and kindness. I finally told them to just give me the car because I had to pick up my daughter from school. After being told it'll be brought up "any second" for FIFTEEN MINUTES, I was finally given my car. Never mentioned anything about my AC. Hardly any apology, no compensation. I asked to speak to the service manager multiple times and she never even came out of her office. Everyone just acted like it was so normal/casual for my car to just be hours late. I was 30 minutes late to pick up my poor child. Going to Beaumont next time, as should everyone else! I just found out that Mercedes of Beaumont will come pick up my car for free in Louisiana and do the oil change and return it! No transportation fee! Safe to say, I will be doing that from now on!

We were very impressed with the friendly service that we were provided while at Southwest VW. Coming from out of town this is not the VW closest to us, but would be wiling to make the trip for services in the future. Coming from out of town meant that my wife and 3 year old daughter stayed until our car was ready, but were comfortable in the lobby that provided fresh doughnuts and coffee and even a playroom area for kids. I was most impressed with how a simple issue like the volume knob on the radio, which had fallen months ago was fixed with no issue; something that I feel like was neglected when I tried to get it fixed at the Lake Charles location. I would definitely go back for service and spend the day in Lafayette, as said before, when the car needs an oil change or an annual check up . I had a deeply concerning and unsafe experience with the service department regarding my Volkswagen…read moreTiguan. I brought my vehicle in for a diagnostic due to a high-speed vibration. I suspected a CV joint issue but made it clear I was not certain, which is why I happily agreed to pay for a diagnostic. After drop-off, I was called and informed I would be charged a double diagnostic fee, with only half applied toward any repair. The vehicle was taken into the shop and I received findings in well under two hours, which raises questions about the legitimacy of the fee. I was then quoted additional thousands of dollars for coolant and oil system "leaks". When I asked whether these systems were pressure tested for leaks, I was told no and that the recommendations were based solely on visual inspection. I have no errors/lights and no measurable loss of fluids so I denied the additional services and proceeded with the CV joint replacement as intended. The most serious issue occurred at pickup. As I pulled out of the dealership parking lot, the skid plate immediately detached from the bottom of my car and flew off while driving, creating a serious safety hazard. I am extremely fortunate no one was behind me. I retrieved the skid plate and returned it to the service center within minutes. The technician and service manager admitted: - The skid plate had been removed during service - Screws and washers were missing - I was not notified of the missing hardware during the diagnostic or at pickup - The vehicle was released anyway, knowingly with missing hardware Instead of replacing the damaged part or properly reinstalling it, the service team zip-tied a broken skid plate back onto the vehicle and refused to replace it. I was told that "you don't really need it anyway" and that I should have known parts were missing because I brought the car in for a specific issue. I am not a technician. I relied on a certified VW service department to identify safety-critical issues, notify me of missing hardware, and return my vehicle in a safe condition. Releasing a vehicle with an improperly secured underbody panel after removing it themselves is negligent. This experience showed a lack of transparency, accountability, and basic safety standards. I would strongly caution others before trusting this service department.
