Brought my '67 C-10 to Mark's auto paid cash for him to change my 350 engine to 383 and to upgrade the transmission as well. When I went to pick up my truck he informed me it was "a side project for the shop," -Mark which made me very uncomfortable and they had lost my dipstick and later discovered my dash lights would not work. He also informed me after I had paid him 800$ more for the work that they had done, but nothing was done to the transmission! But, being young I had not requested for anything in writing... So I bring the truck home the next morning it will not start, after investigation I discovered the choke cable had not been reconnected at all. After connecting the cable and driving it for a few days the transmission starts leaking everywhere. I bring it back to him asking him to fix the dash lights as well and after bout 3 days I go to pick it up... He informed me that they had forgot to put a gasket back on. That night reverse goes out shortly followed by 2-3 and the dash lights still do not work. When I called him about it he told me to find a transmission and he would put it in? I did some research and found out that the 383 they put in was way to big of an engine for the trans I had in the truck so it was bound to fail!
