The moment I left the parking lot, my oil warning light came on. Seconds later, the EPC warning light came on, and my vehicle began hesitating and struggling to accelerate past approximately 35 mph. This created a serious safety concern. I immediately returned to the shop and explained what happened. The technician reset the warning lights and added more oil, but the problem was not fixed. As soon as I left again, both warning lights returned and my vehicle continued to hesitate while accelerating. A simple oil change should never result in warning lights and a vehicle that feels unsafe to drive. I am now faced with the inconvenience, stress, and potential expense of having my vehicle inspected after a service that should have been routine. I have reported this incident to Take 5 Corporate and expect a thorough investigation and resolution. I am sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision. I made an appointment and was told it would be about an hour and a half. I then waited three hours for an oil change. Maybe I'm spoiled by visits to other Midas locations, but that seems an excessive amount of time to wait. While I was there, a guy came in who also had an appointment and was told the same hour and a half time estimate as I was but he actually walked out after they explained that even with an appointment it's still first come first serve. The waiting room was a bit dirty (yes, I realize it's a car place, but if you have to spend three hours there it could be nicer). If you bring your car here, I suggest dropping it off and collecting it later. I do not recommend waiting, as their estimates seem to be incorrect. There does not seem to be any point in making an appointment. I suppose I should have found somewhere else to take my car when I requested an appointment via the internet on the Midas website and was not contacted as the site promises (this is what I do with the Midas back home). Since I've had good experiences at other Midas shops I decided to try this one anyway. While they were friendly, they did not go over the results of their courtesy check with me and they also left a dirty rag in the inside of my car. I have no reason to suspect that they did anything incorrectly, but I will not bring my car here again if I can help it.
