The service was friendly and my car seems ok. I was visiting Lafayette and needed to get my oil changed before driving a couple thousand miles to get back home. I made an appointment and was told it would be about an hour and a half. I then waited three hours for an oil change. Maybe I'm spoiled by visits to other Midas locations, but that seems an excessive amount of time to wait. While I was there, a guy came in who also had an appointment and was told the same hour and a half time estimate as I was but he actually walked out after they explained that even with an appointment it's still first come first serve. The waiting room was a bit dirty (yes, I realize it's a car place, but if you have to spend three hours there it could be nicer). If you bring your car here, I suggest dropping it off and collecting it later. I do not recommend waiting, as their estimates seem to be incorrect. There does not seem to be any point in making an appointment. I suppose I should have found somewhere else to take my car when I requested an appointment via the internet on the Midas website and was not contacted as the site promises (this is what I do with the Midas back home). Since I've had good experiences at other Midas shops I decided to try this one anyway. While they were friendly, they did not go over the results of their courtesy check with me and they also left a dirty rag in the inside of my car. I have no reason to suspect that they did anything incorrectly, but I will not bring my car here again if I can help it. read more

Brought in a 97 5 Spd civic that was giving me the blues, had been sitting for months and I needed it on the road quickly. Jeff and his crew had it diagnosed and on the road extremely quick. Even after another problem arose (which is common with cars that have sat) they were completely unproblematic and quick again. I highly suggest this Midas wether you're a car guy with an old beater, or a regular person in a tight pinch. read more

Polite, respectful, and pretty quick. They seem to do good work but...for a simple oil & filter change they can be counted on to spill oil on cars bumpers and other parts about 50% of the time. And I have to clean it up properly with a good degreaser. read more

They worked really hard to lower my price, keeping it VERY cheap. They did NOT "fix" irrelevant issues; they called me to keep me updated, and, since I'm a college student, they texted me before they called to ensure that I would not get in trouble with a professor for answering my phone. They also did many extra manual repairs to my car for FREE, and offered me future discounts and free checkups. I've had this same job done to my car once before, and they installed TERRIBLE and overpriced hardware that did not last 1/5 if it's intended lifespan. It cost me $800. But with Midas, it cost me $224 for a quicker fix, better hardware, and extra free repairs. I will 100% be returning to this specific Midas, and I highly recommend that any cautious consumer look there for his/her needs first. read more

WOW! This is the BEST place to get your car serviced. I been to a few others in the area, but this one tops it all! They are very HONEST! They don't try to upsell you. The best part is they were very quick servicing the car, but they also take their time talking to you and listening to your concerns. I got a brake inspection, new brake pads, and my rotors done in less than the time they said it would be finished. I knew it was going to be a great experience when they actually took us to the back and explained to us what's going on with the car! I have never been to a place that does that! They were very KNOWLEDGEABLE. The staff were all wonderful. The location is close to a lot of other businesses walking distance. We ended up eating at Mel's diner just to kill time but they called us saying the car was ready once we got our food! This is my first time going to Midas, but unfortunately I'll be moving back to my home state. Hopefully I have an amazing experience like this one to the Midas in California. Called last minute and they had no wait. The service at the counter was very friendly and the technician was knowledgeable about my vehicle. Then again it's just an oil change and tire rotation. The lobby and bathroom is clean so that's always a plus. Nothing worst than waiting in an auto service lobby and feeling like you are actually in the back pulling wrenches. It only took 40 min total from time in till I left. read more

I have taken my car here twice for different problems. The first time I took my car in December 2014, it was an expensive job that I knew had to be done or else I couldn't get my car registered again. Of course I was worried about price to fit my budget, I got there and the service manager was so great! He explained what needed to be done and gave me a fair price. They fixed my car within the day and I was able to get it inspected and registered the next day! I took my car there today for an overheating problem. I dropped it off since I know they are busy with the excellent service they provide. They called me when they said they were going to call after they were able to look at it. They let me know what the problem was and what needs to be done to resolve it, and once again, quoted a fair price. I trust these people to do right by me, their customer, and the cars they service. I recently visited this location of Midas for work on my "lifetime warranty" brakes. The reason you have 2 stars right now is because regardless of all of this ... the staff was actually pretty friendly. 1. I got my brakes done here 4 years ago. 2. I needed them to check out the brakes and I had a coupon for an oil change. 3. When I recently visited they had trouble finding my information via the VIN number of the vehicle. However, after giving them my maiden name and previous address they were able to find the information they needed. 4. Upon calling me back with the estimate they informed me that I indeed, because they were the ones who installed my brakes I had the Midas lifetime warranty on them and the brake pads would be free. Great new right? Not really, they then turned around and told me that my estimate was $555.88!!! (For what?) When I asked where that number came from since brake pads were free, they informed me that each rotor needed replacing the front would be $109.99 each plus labor, the back would be $79.99 each plus labor, and $19.99 oil change plus labor. (So approximately $399.95 parts and $155.93 labor?). I know you have to pay your staff and you have some overhead but good googly moogly! After a series of phone calls to them and my husband, I finally told them not to worry about doing the brakes and rotors ... just do the oil change and I'd be there to pick up my vehicle that evening. 5. Oh, let me not forget about the FREE tire rotation that comes with every oil change ... that's a great service, however when you put my life in danger, I don't take kindly to that. Yes you did the tire rotation (as per your offer) but it doesn't take a genius to know that on a FRONT WHEEL DRIVE vehicle you DON'T put the more worn out tires in the FRONT! I would have preferred it if you told me the reasoning behind NOT rotating them for my safety than rotating them just because "this is what you do". Needless to say I only got my oil changed here (with the dangerous tire rotation) and I will not be returning to this Midas location. I brought my vehicle to mechanic who pointed out and fixed the tire rotation issue, changed both front and back brake pads and rotors and even changed the burnt brake light bulb that I hand in the back all for just under $300 bucks! read more

Best experience I've ever had dealing with an auto repair shop. The employees are very friendly and customer focused. The wrong parts were received for my automobile and one of the employees drove to Baton Rouge to pick up the parts instead of telling me my car wouldn't be ready until the next day. I was quoted one price and since the parts were picked up in Baton Rouge it cost me less than what I was quoted. The technician did an awesome job on repairing my vehicle. I would recommend Midas on Bertrand to anyone. read more
