Buyer beware. I took my vehicle to Take 5 for nothing more than a routine oil change. Before the service, my vehicle had no warning lights and was driving perfectly. The moment I left the parking lot, my oil warning light came on. Seconds later, the EPC warning light came on, and my vehicle began hesitating and struggling to accelerate past approximately 35 mph. This created a serious safety concern. I immediately returned to the shop and explained what happened. The technician reset the warning lights and added more oil, but the problem was not fixed. As soon as I left again, both warning lights returned and my vehicle continued to hesitate while accelerating. A simple oil change should never result in warning lights and a vehicle that feels unsafe to drive. I am now faced with the inconvenience, stress, and potential expense of having my vehicle inspected after a service that should have been routine. I have reported this incident to Take 5 Corporate and expect a thorough investigation and resolution. I am sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision. I sincerely hope Take 5 takes responsibility if their service caused these issues. read more

Do not go to this location . I arrived at 11:02 am. Didn't leave until 12:34. Two vehicles that arrived well after me were taken care of prior to my vehicle. Once it was finally my turn, they then proceeded to process another 2 vehicle that arrived after me faster. So during the entire duration , 4 cars were serviced prior to mine and they still had the nerve to try and replace my filter . Horrible customer service, loud explicit music blaring from the office area. Very ghetto and unprofessional. Avoid this location if possible. read more

***Update district manager just called me hung up on me then called me back after realizing he messed up. Said my son is lying. I never experienced such a horrible excuse for a district manager before. Now wonder the service sucks look how unprofessional the district manager is. I will request the video of the 3. I am warning everyone to not use Take 5 in Opelousas. My son brought his truck into Take 5 Oil Change for an oil change. They asked him if he wanted any extras. He said no just an oil change because that is what he was instructed to do. He was charged for gear fluid change in the amount of $99. I noticed because his bank account alerted me when his balance gets under $100. I just put in $300 for him to have gas, oil change and money to eat. They charged him $218 when it should have been under $100 like it always is. They don't give you anything to sign so he didn't know. His truck doesn't even have 60k miles and just had everything checked when I bought it so it was not needed either. I am not one to complain on social media but when you file a complaint over a week ago and can't get anyone to call you back I feel like I need to warn everyone in this city to not go there. They want to take money from my child and they will more than likely women and men as well. I can't get over someone not calling me back after over a week. If this is how you do business in a small town Take 5 Oil Change you won't be open for long. I am sure others have had bad experiences that they will share as well. we took our car there july 9, 2025 for a simple oil change and by the time we made it home our car was running rough and loud like a tractor with my driveway filled with oil coming from the bottom of my car. i have been calling the take 5 pinhook rd. lafayette, la. 70503 location since we came back home and all i'm told is someone will call, and now the manager kaleb is sending my calls to voicemail. our car had 60, 894 miles while there so it's still a very fairly new car. please don't ever bring your vehicle to this location unless you want to get the run around. it has been a nightmare dealing with them and all we need is our vehicle operating as it was when it was brought there. if anyone have any valid telephone numbers that they can give me please add it here.. thanks in advance. read more

I don't like writing car reviews because they are boring as fuck. However, as a single lady it is necessary for me to write car reviews for all my fellow single ladies out there. I was here for a simple oil change one day after work (BTW you have to turn off your engine so I recommend going when it's cool) and the guys here were so nice and respectful. They gave me a cold water bottle while I was waiting which was so nice. The thing that set this oil change apart though, was one of the employees here named Josh. He let me know my engine was leaking transmission fluid and filled it up for me. He also let me know I could drive my whip for a while but not to push it for too long because it would eventually leave ya girl stranded. Ive been going to Take 5 with all my vehicles for years , today I went and for a $82 oil change with a $15 coupon the total was $102. I kept asking the guy what was the additional cost he didn't know what to say, so when I got my invoice they started charging extra for the oil filter ,and " shop charge. I was waiting at Walmart for 2 hours and I decided to leave and find a place that did quick oil changes. I was worried that I would have been paying 80+ dollars for an oil change. Only 44$ I went to the one on Pinhook in Lafayette la. Honestly, best experience for an oil change so far. They included topping off my coolant and checking my tire pressure (adding me some air too) for free. My bank account was looking real low so I went with the cheapest oil 44$ for 5 quarts. I'm so happy I was able to get it done so fast. They offer you bottled water and they are really awesome and knowledgeable. The two guys there were really helpful. I will go back. 10/10 read more

The first two times I went there, the service was EXCELLENT...FRIENDLY...PROFESSIONAL. Returning today, our experience was not good at all! Our total wait time was 55 minutes. I pulled into the service bay at about 25 minutes wait. My husband and I sat there for probably 20 minutes, before we were even acknowledged by anyone. There were 4 workers who passed by our vehicle repeatedly and they used the computer at my car window multiple times, without anyone speaking to us. At the 20 minute mark into the bay, our hood was finally opened. From that point, the work was thorough and professional, thank goodness! The last time we went there, we were told to return when our maintenance light came on. It came on just yesterday, however the service guy told us today that I was way over mileage! Good afternoon, I WOULD NEVER GIVE TAKE 5 ANY STARS AFTER THE HORRIBLE SERVICE WE RECEIVED! I HAD TO SELECT AT LEAST A STAR JUST TO POST THIS REVIEW! PITIFUL! I have been using every resource of Take 5 Oil to communicate a major issue that one of your local stores here in Lafayette, Louisiana has done. Take 5, located at 1500 W. Pinhook Road, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503 (337)284-0254 On June 1, 2021, our daughter took her car to your location at the above address to have her oil changed. Daniel, the manager this location checked our daughter's car only to come back and tell her he did not have the oil she needed but that he made a decision to put her at a "safe place" and she should return that Friday. Our daughter inquired what oil did he use if he just informed her Take 5 didn't have what she needed. Daniel avoided her inquiry by telling her her plug was not the right one. She in turn asked why would he not answer her question and her plug was new and purchased through Honda. Daniel did not say anything to our daughter except for her to return Friday. Our daughter called furious telling us of her ordeal. On her arrival home, every light in her dashboard was on and her car began to make the loudest noise. Both her father and I were so enraged as this is NOT professional! Her father went to speak with Daniel but the employees told him Daniel was not in. The employees also told her father that it was none of them who worked on the car; that it was Daniel. Her father waited and no manager returned. We took her car to a Honda dealer because she has a Honda; we were told Take 5 created damages to the car, stripped the screw and plu for her oil pan as well as released oil out of the transmission and flooding it back with some as a cover. My daughter and I took her car back there on the Friday as told; her father had to work. On arrival, the manager made no communication of approaching us to at least apologize for having her father to come to meet him and he not being at the location. I asked him what did he do on June 1 that totally damaged my daughter's car; he became short stating that I was implying it was their fault. I told him it was his, that my daughter's car had ZERO ISSUES until June 1 after he touched it! We then asked him about the oil availability to which he said he had some better oil. I told him that is NOT what was told on June 1; June 1 he'd told our daughter the brand of oil she needed would be in. It was as though it bothered him to put the right brand of oil. Daniel refused to admit what he'd done to our daughter's car; he said to us he had not charged for the oil change and that he guesses he apologize if we felt he did something wrong. TOTAL DISBELIEF at this point! The audacity to destroy someone's car and then insult them by saying you guess you apologize! This is where we are now, Honda is looking over our daughter's car and assessing all damages from Take 5; we would hope at this level, someone reads this, calls us to bring resolve without us having to go through the legal side. Our daughter is a full time college student who works and needs her car. Her father is a truck driver and I am in the legal field; all our plates are full! Her father made another attempt to speak with Daniel today to which he nonchalantly kept telling him we are trying to accuse him of something he never did. Our daughter's car was perfectly fine until June 1 after Take 5 and Daniel! Daniel should not be allowed to just damage property and think it's ok and act like he did nothing wrong and not own the responsibility of repairs! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! Someone call us! Do not go to this place. I received an oil change here, and now my truck is leaking oil. I have a 2019 F 250, with 40K miles. Never had a problem until I went here to their "top tier" station. Now I have a huge oil spot on my driveway. Very poor service, and not very friendly staff. I strongly suggest going elsewhere. read more
