I know almost every human being hates going to the dentist, but the hygienists and dentists here have made it so much more bearable for me! Routine checkups are quick and easy, and everyone is so friendly. I haven't experienced high levels of pain or discomfort here, so I'm never very nervous going in for treatment. This is my second review of this office; it's more than warranted due to the procedures I've completed over the last three weeks. Is there anyone who LOVES to visit the dentist? Particularly when you know you're facing something other than a cleaning. Being the original "White Knuckle Chicken," I had to go into Sterling Dental Center three weeks ago to have a wisdom tooth extracted ... ugh! One hears stories about what having a wisdom tooth pulled entails, and those tales of woe make one consider taking a plane to a far-off location rather than ratchet up the nerve to go in there and endure, right? From past experiences in this office, the reaction to the news that that tooth HAD to come out did not crank up the Nerve Machine! No White Knuckles for this guy! Dr. Bursich and his fantastic associates at Sterling Dental Center put you right at ease from the moment you walk in. The Doctor can easily become a professional comedian once he retires; he has me laughing from the moment I sit down. This, of course, makes any patient relax ... maybe this friendly guy is not going to pull out my tongue by mistake! Dr. Bursich had proven to me in the past that he is right on top of whatever The Chicken is there for. I knew, positively, that he would apply the right amount of local sedative so that I wouldn't feel a thing (other than the obvious slight pressure of the wisdom tooth extraction). I had complete faith and confidence, NO "white knuckles," and the entire procedure was painless. If you are searching for a dental clinic for yourself/family, I hope you will take my word as someone who previously loathed going to the dentist and give Dr. Bursich and Sterling Dental Center a chance to wow you! Fantastic dentist my wife and I highly recommend. He is great with our son and daughter. He is caring and empathetic. Hygenists are all great, as are their younger dentists. They need to hire more skilled people to answer their phones. They moved last year to an AI robot, which we feel comes in handy, but should not be depended upon. Went for a free consult. No one in waiting room or exam rooms. Enabling front desk staff. Dentist was controlling and kept trying to separate my young child to a private room without me. Then he put his leg out to block me from leaving the room, just to tick me off. Stay away from this dentist! Gave me the creeps! Be aware of a "prepayment agreement" they claim you have signed. I was told by the front desk lady "Sharon", who is the wife of the dentist, that I have signed an agreement saying I agreed to prepay the out of pocket share of my bill "upfront" rather than wait until the insurance company settles it first. When I asked Sharon to show me the "agreement" that I have signed, do you know what Sharon replied? She said "Since you don't trust me, we should not continue this business relationship". When I asked why don't you just show me the paper I have signed to make me to trust you, Sharon told me she is too busy to find it for me. Then, I told Sharon, I will have to post a review about your bluffing me until you send me the so called "prepayment agreement" you claimed that I have signed. She is still too busy to find it by now. This review is more for the customer service attitude than for the actual service at the Sterling Dental Center. I am a brand new customer. After signing a bunch of paper work and getting a round of x-ray, I was told I need a deep clean, and I am required to pay for it upfront. I expressed my concern about the prepayment because I might eventually overpay my share and forget the "credits" in their account after the insurance company negotiating their price . Long story short, eventually I showed my good faith by offering two options for Sharon to pick: 1) pay the full bill upfront as Sharon preferred; 2) pay some deposit as I preferred to hold my appointment. Then Sharon told me I have signed the agreement of prepayment which I have not seen as of now. read more

I'm an old broken (Literally) cop who took a fall a busted out my top front teeth. Doc Bursik examined me and then explained my options fully. He had me fixed up in short order. He's a dentist I actually enjoy going to. If I even let out a peep in the chair (Which is just due to the discomfort of lying there) he stops what he's doing and asks if he's causing any discomfort. All my life, I've not had issues with my teeth; so when I had a tooth break, I was very concern & anxious as to what would be done to correct it. I'm extremely needle phobic, so the very thought of having injections in my mouth made me cringe. I got a message prior to my visit from the office asking if I had any concerns to let them know. I responded to them about my phobia. When I got there, they couldn't have been more kind and compassionate to me. Dr. Bursick was wonderful and quickly put me at ease. Through every step of my procedures he explained what he was doing and why. I really appreciated this, and it put me very much at ease. I was astonished that my time in the chair flew by without any pounding of heart or feeling I needed to bolt for the door. After this experience, I don't believe I'll have any anxiety about making dental appointments again. The staff and assistants are warm, friendly & welcoming. I had the worst experience at this place. They're sitting there just rip people off. I had a filling on my front tooth which lasted only 12 days. I called them and asked them if they could fix it and if I had to pay. They said I don't have to pay because I had already paid for the procedure. But when I went there, the Dr said that they can't do it because it was deep and they'll have to put a cap on for which they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg. BEST DENTIST EXPERIENCE EVER! Before even seeing Dr. Bursich, the staff made sure I was completely comfortable and was extremely clear on everything they would be doing. During the examination, they would point things out to me and informed me about what they were actually going to do before doing it. Even my follow up appointments were amazing - they made sure I wasn't in pain during the procedures and stopped a few times just to make sure I was comfortable. My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Bursich since he acquired the business a couple years ago from Dr. Koh. I personally wasn't a fan of Dr. Koh, and would have found a new dentist if he hadn't sold his practice. Even though we've since moved and now live 20 miles from Sterling Dental Center (which, in northern VA terms, is pretty far), we still see Dr. Bursich for our regular cleanings and any procedures because we trust him as our dentist. Our appointments are always on time and any procedures are professional and quick. I get some anxiety at the dentist but trust that Dr. Bursich and his assistants will take care of me. They do a great job of explaining what they're going to do beforehand, letting me know what to expect throughout the actual procedure and checking in with me, and follow-up with a quick discussion afterwards. I can also trust that they use hygienic and best practices during my procedures. For these reasons, I would highly recommend Dr. Bursich at Sterling Dental Center. read more

They are nicest group of people. Everyone is accommodating and friendly and most importantly they don't overcharge their patients.

A few years ago, I woke up with a toothache in a tooth I had been babying along, knowing I would need a root canal at some point. I called Sterling Dental and they took me right in and over the course of the next few weeks the root canal was done. I continued seeing them for cleanings etc, until about two years later, when it became clear I needed another root canal. Went ahead with that, but only a few months later, it basically fell out of my mouth, and the original one followed it. So, two root canals in and gone in two years. Plus the price of that work. At some point, I needed a small filling, and that was done, altho it was never right and had a bothersome little "tab" I could feel with my tongue. Today, that tooth broke off. More money spent for nothing. And the whole process has made subtle changes in the shape of my mouth, causing me to bite the inside of my lip on a regular basis. I had read the Yelp reviews about this particular practice, and some of his patients at his previous Pennsylvania practice had similar complaints to mine. I should have known better. I would not recommend this dentist. He either doesnt know what hes doing, or he is using shoddy materials that dont last. Also, the office person got a very nasty attitude when I needed the second root canal, and didnt want to help me find financing or work out a payment plan. I can actually say I like going to the dentist now! Staff is VERY friendly and explain what is being done. Dr Bursich is fabulous - easy to talk to and good at what he does. I needed a cavity filled - they used the new laser machine so I was in and out in 30 minutes without all the pain/agony of drills and being numbed. I ignored my dental health for more years than I will admit, however didn't want the same for my kids. After "breaking up" with the pediatric dentist we saw in Ashburn, the kids were getting behind in their dental appointments as well. I knew I needed to find a new dentist and now that the kids were teens, pediatric dentistry was no longer needed. Serendipitously, Anela's son plays baseball with my son and appointments were made for all 3 of my kids. As I waited for them during their appointments, I got a feel for the office and staff. I felt comfortable enough to schedule an appointment for myself. As the days drew close, I became more and more nervous about following through with my commitment to my teeth, but I decided better now than never. I can not say enough good things about this practice and Dr. Bursich! His understanding of my hesitation, fear of embarrassment and reassurance that I was in control of the appointment calmed my raw nerves and allowed me to complete my appointment and walk out with clean, polished teeth as well as an appointment for six months from now.
