We enrolled our daughter part time and wish we would have done it sooner! The staff have been so kind and helpful. They keep us posted on how she's doing and often include pictures. Things we love about Stepping Stone Parmer: *The teachers: Ms. Laura, Ms. Gifty, Ms. Xyre and Ms. Jeanne are all so loving with the little ones! They also worked with me when my daughter first started and refused to take a bottle. They got her taking one where many others had failed! *The facilities: everything is clean and comfortable and safe. I love that I don't have to worry about my child inhaling mold and mildew in the walls or escaping the facility because there are multiple doors and gates to pass through. *Meals provided: this is such a convenience. I don't have to worry about packing food for my kiddo every day. *The location: I work on the same campus and it's comforting to know that my child is so close-by. *The schedule: they open earlier and close later than most preschools and they're open for more holidays at no extra cost. read more

The teachers are burdened with cleaning instead of more frequent professional cleaners. We are very happy at Stepping Stone Parmer. Our son started from about 4 months old and is now 13 months old. The classrooms are always very clean. We have had a great experience with the infant classrooms. Ms. Jeanne and Ms. Gifty go above and beyond for their kids, and I have felt like we can trust them with anything every step of the way. My wife and I have been using Stepping Stone Parmer/McNeil for a year now and it has been a terrific experience for us and for our daughter. She joined at 6 months of age and is now almost 18 months. The teachers are always keeping us informed about how she's doing and what she is learning. I started my son here at 4 months of age. I was a bit nervous that only two adults could handle so many babies because me with my one baby is hard enough. However, after receiving updates throughout the day, I felt so comfortable with him in their care. Ms. Jeanne in the Gigabytes room is amazing and has a great system. She communicated any of my sons needs throughout when I dropped him off/picked him up. She would call me if she was concerned about anything and was generally on top of his care (in addition to the other babies). The other non-full time staff were also fantastic. The principal, Arlene, is also very helpful and responsive to email and questions! We have moved and now have him in a different daycare in our new city because there is no Stepping Stone School here (*ahem* please open one up here!) and miss this place so much. The little projects sent home, the picture updates, and the log of ins/outs were so appreciated. I love that they have activities and group readings. I highly recommend this location (I already have 1 friend that enrolled her son and another with one on the way planning on taking their's here too). read more

We loved the school. it's a very clean, well managed, and has a spacious play area for the kids. The meal plan introduced our child to a variety of food. Ms Maggie who is the head of this branch is an example of a good leader. She is on top of everything which gives confidence to send the child to this school. Our daughter's teacher Ms Shruti is a very pleasant person and patient teacher. The other teachers are also very kind. My daughter loves Ms.Maggie, Ms. Shruti and her friends. All teachers here are friendly. Principal Sarah gave us a tour patiently. We especially thanks to teacher Dhivya. My daughter had anxiety and had hard time to talk to people. Teacher Dhivya helps my daughter to conquer her fears and encourages her to talk. Now my daughter starts to try to use verbal language to communicate with others. Fmy daughter attends SSS at parmer / mcneil. We have been with them for the last 1.5 years. She went from being on speech therapy to eating 4 meals a day, fuss - free all by herself. The teachers and correspondent Sarah Ramirez are amazing in accomodating special needs. All complaints and concerns are addressed immediately and they leave no room for us to worry or stress over our child. Special mention to Ms.Dhivya, for being such a good teacher and following up with all of the progress and areas of improvement regarding our kid. She makes sure the kids learn kindness, absolutely no bullying or getting physical in her classroom. Every little concern we have is addressed with kindness and assurance. Ms.Dhivya is one of the best teachers i have seen in awhile. I was a sahm and after 3.5 years got back to work. My grandson comes to this location and we love Stepping Stone. We love Ms. Alexis one of the infant teachers she is always so helpful when I come to pick up my grandson she lets me know about his day and her room is always so clean and smells so nice! She sends lots of pictures out daily of my grandson of all the activities they do during the day. Just yesterday I received a photo of him playing with the insides of a pumpkin she put them inside a big ziploc bag and taped it to the table what a fun activity i never would have thought to do this! We used to be happy sending our kid to this school when Ms. Maggie was the principal. There used to be consistency with food curriculum and many other things(It might sound funny but I strongly believe that consistency in their schedule and surroundings is really important). One by one teachers started leaving and new teachers come in but don't stay for long. With in a span of 4 to 5 months my kid had around 5 to 6 different teachers. These days I am not even sure if my kid has any curriculum or not as I did not receive a single paper of his art work or anything thing they did in the class. Another change I noticed was his report now a days is not detailed like it used to be and some days i just get his diaper change details and nothing else. I love the teachers as they are friendly but the management not so much. I hope the HQ takes some action and take proper changes accordingly read more

We have had a great experience sending our son Jones to Stepping Stone at this location. We started him at 4 months and being our first child, we had been incredibly anxious to part from him. Laura and Jeanie have been incredible, and have made us feel so comfortable leaving him with him every day. My daughter has been attending Stepping Stone for over a year and has learned so much! The social skills she learned have been great. The teachers and principal here are all so loving and caring. they have gone above and beyond for my kid, even lending a car seat when I needed it because my husband had my car. My child is excited to attend everyday and gets to play outside a ton on the wonderful playground and do so many activities. He's learning so much here. I am updating my review to share my appreciation for the new pre-K teacher, Miss Laycia. She has been absolutely amazing for my four year old as well as my two year old! She truly loves children and it shows. She cares for every child on the campus and goes out of her way to make them all feel special and loved. Love this school! I started bringing my baby here at 3 months and have had nothing but positive experiences with all the staff members. I was having such a hard time at first, but with their open door policy and the fact that they're located right next to my work, I've been able to come in during my lunch breaks to nurse. As a first time mom, those times spent in the classroom nursing my baby, The teachers have given me advice on what I can do with the baby when I am at home and things I would have never known if I never brought her here. Miss Anna and Miss Jeanne have taken such good care of my daughter that it's hard to imagine having anyone else care for her. My son went here for about a year. PLEASE PARENTS KEEP LOOKING DONT PUT YOUR CHILDREN HERE. TAKE THE TIME AND RESEARCH THE SCHOOLS YOUR CHILDREN WILL ATTEND. I walked in and witnessed my toddler at the time who fell down crying needing help up as the young staff member sat on a stool and intentionally starred at him unwilling to get off her a-- and help. There was such a high turn over rate at this school. These aren't qualified teachers that are educated in child development. The quality of staff they hire in my opinion is not suitable for young growing children who soak up everything like a sponge. Stepping stone should branch out be willing to pay there staff more and therfore set a higher standard of care and education. Our children deserve MORE!!! read more

I love the staff and the care has been amazing ! I have 3 kids and all of my kids have attended Stepping Stone at some point since 2008. My older kids now are in grade school and have asked me if they can go back to spend time with the staff during the summers because they love the care they received from the staff too. My youngest (3) still attends and I love the daily tadpoles pictures and videos I recieve about my son's day and we love sharing these photos and clips to his Grandparents also . From the musicians who come to visit on site to the optional sports programs, we couldn't be happier. My son loves walking in to see his teacher in the morning and spending the day with his friends . My daughter has been attending Stepping Stone school at Parmer location since she was two years old and we have been extremely happy with the teachers/staff at this location. The environment is clean, safe, fun and organized for the kids. As a mom to a 4 year old, this means a great deal to me. The principle Ms Holly is amazing. Very approachable and easy to talk to about any situation that may arise. Arlene, Ms. Gabrielle and Ms. Lisa have also been fantastic with my daughter. I absolutely recommend stepping stone to other parents. Love the staff!! Love the facilities!! My kids love it more. My oldest son Noah is at Stepping Stone and has been for about a year. He walks in everyday to smiling teachers and staff that are excited to see him. He gets fed, educated and gets plenty of exercise all for affordable rates. The hours are conducive to a working schedule and it makes my life easier. The teacher that kind of runs the show is Miss Gabriel. She is the best. Her love of the children is obvious and she works tirelessly to make school fun and enjoyable for the kiddos. And when I say school, I mean school. It is a school program, not your typical daycare. The projects that Miss Gabriel puts together blow me away. My son is always so proud to show me new artwork, new words, new songs, new games, and new skills he has learned. My son Noah can be a handful too and I love the appropriate level of discipline that is applied. Everything is talked out with the child and then communicated to the parents so that everyone is on the same page. Nothing like a unified front to get kids on the right path. My wife and I decided to change his diet to help with his behavior and the school has accommodated in helping us limit his sugar intake to help his ability to control his behavior. We have now decided to send our 2 smaller boys to Stepping Stone in the fall. We trust them so much we have changed our plans to keep them home until 3 years old and start the school process now. The benefits completely outweigh the reasons to keep them home. Finally Miss Holly who runs the school does a great job. She is there in the mornings and in the evenings making sure things are running right. She is great about communication and she clearly picks good staff. She is still "on the job" too as most times I find her in the nursery helping with the little babies. I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Stepping Stone on Parmer Lane. It took my wife and me four years to trust someone with our oldest son and we are so thankful we found such qualified and trustworthy people to handle it. I would not recommend this place. We started our 3 month old here and it was a big mistake.We wanted a place that would give our daughter individual attention and adequately care for her, and this place was just the opposite. There are only 2 caretakers in the room for 8 or 10 babies. There was no way any baby in this room ever gets all the attention they deserve. After 2 days of having our daughter here we took her out . We made this decision because in an 8 hour day she was only fed 4 ounces! That's unacceptable for a 3 month old or any baby to be fed that little. My baby takes awhile to finish a bottle and I felt nobody took the time to feed her properly . Nor did anyone call me to tell me if their was an issue. Also when my boyfriend picked her up he walked into her laying on the mat screaming her lungs out so much she had boogers coming out of her nose. Knowing that she was left screaming and hungry is devastating as a parent. I am writing this review to save other parents the heart ache of going through a bad daycare experience. Stepping Stone in Parmer is disgusting. Cons : 1. The restrooms are not clean/they stink 2. The toys and blankets are not sanitized/disinfected unlike in other daycares 3. Individual report is not sent unlike in other day cares 4. Lunch menu is messed up - they have something and they feed something else 5. Teachers keep changing and staff is not trained, and not suitable to the role and as such management doesnt even care what is being taught in the rooms The teachers dont know to discipline the kids and the consequence is kids throwing lot of tantrums. There is nothing exciting about this daycare other then saving few 100 bucks. Eversince my kid joined there, he's been getting cold/cough/fever/runny nose/strep throat(twice in a month). The director(Holley) in the day care is non sense and has no communication skills. She only knows to sell Stepping Stone, but not maintain the promises made while selling. If you want your kid to be growing academically, please DO NOT even think of enrolling him/her there. My advice to the management - Fire Holley and find a good director to the day care who know how to hire good teaching staff who can manage the kids well read more

My son was at this daycare for less than a year and in that time he had 2 school directors and 5 different teachers. I don't know why the first director left, but under her leadership, we saw him not getting enough water in the summer when they played outside, poor reporting, and bad diaper rash. The second director seems very well intentioned, but was unable to address our issues. We complained several times that our "Tadpoles" report (his daily report) was not filled out properly, or was missing all together. Many times, we didn't know when our son slept, ate, what he ate, or if he was changed. It was extremely disheartening and the director, Holly, assured us she was taking care of it. It admittedly got slightly better after we complained, but then it went back downhill a month later. There were lots of excuses about the app not working right, but at a certain point, you have to admit that it's the user, not the app. The Tadpoles reports were never fixed even though we were assured everyone went through training and that Holly personally looked into the issue. Then came the biting. I get it, kids bite. But my son was getting bit every week, multiple times a week and nothing was done about it. Most of the time, I almost never got an incident report (in fact, I had to initiate the conversation and ask for an incident report), and honestly, the majority of the time, the teacher either didn't see what happened, or didn't even notice he was bitten. We had to take pictures during his bath time to show the bruises and bite marks literally all over his body. They were on his legs, hands, arms, shoulders, back, and neck. He actually woke up screaming "NO!" in the middle of the night after he was bitten 7 times in 3 days. The last straw was when he was bitten twice in the same day and the teachers saw it happen but did nothing. I spoke to Holly about this and she tried to laugh it off saying, "We saw what happened, but couldn't get there fast enough." Literally smiling and trying to laugh. NO. You see it happen once, go immediately break it up. There is no way that in those tiny rooms, you couldn't get over to the kids and break it up before the second bite happened. Ridiculous. After we were again assured that this was being taken care of, we decided that enough was enough and we had to get my son out of there. He continued to get bit, his reports continued to be incomplete and we got out of there. I think Holly is very well intentioned, but things are slipping through the cracks there. "Good intentions, with a bad approach, often lead to a poor result." That's what's happening. I don't think there's any leadership at this school. There's extremely high turnover with the teachers and that reflects in the care for the children. We moved to a new daycare where my sons teachers have been working together for 10 years and have great reviews from both people I know, and online. My son is sleeping better at night and his reports are fully completed. I know when he eats, sleeps, goes potty, and everything else. Best of all, no biting. He looks genuinely happy when I pick him up. Please don't go to Stepping Stone. I didn't mention this, but we were called by the TX Dep. of Family and Protective Services about a case of child neglect at the facility in Dec 2014.
