Things we love about Stepping Stone Parmer: *The teachers: Ms. Laura, Ms. Gifty, Ms. Xyre and Ms. Jeanne are all so loving with the little ones! They also worked with me when my daughter first started and refused to take a bottle. They got her taking one where many others had failed! *The facilities: everything is clean and comfortable and safe. I love that I don't have to worry about my child inhaling mold and mildew in the walls or escaping the facility because there are multiple doors and gates to pass through. *Meals provided: this is such a convenience. I don't have to worry about packing food for my kiddo every day. *The location: I work on the same campus and it's comforting to know that my child is so close-by. *The schedule: they open earlier and close later than most preschools and they're open for more holidays at no extra cost. read more

We enrolled our daughter part time and wish we would have done it sooner! The staff have been so kind and helpful. They keep us posted on how she's doing and often include pictures. As a parent who struggles with anxiety, it's very reassuring. My husband and I also feel that our daughter is learning new skills and has become a lot more social. We love you Stepping Stone! read more

Reviewer Kris is accurate in their review. All said, the teacher are really nice human beings. But Hygiene is far from acceptable. The teachers are burdened with cleaning instead of more frequent professional cleaners. Our kids fell sick more often; 4 stomach bugs later we had to move them somewhere else, otherwise we would have continued. Ms Divya is really good with ensuring kids habits and hygiene. Ms. Zairi is always on top of things. read more

We are very happy at Stepping Stone Parmer. Our son started from about 4 months old and is now 13 months old. The classrooms are always very clean. We have had a great experience with the infant classrooms. Ms. Jeanne and Ms. Gifty go above and beyond for their kids, and I have felt like we can trust them with anything every step of the way. They take time to do activities, music, and artwork with the babies in their classrooms and always keep us updated and informed. read more

My wife and I have been using Stepping Stone Parmer/McNeil for a year now and it has been a terrific experience for us and for our daughter. She joined at 6 months of age and is now almost 18 months. The teachers are always keeping us informed about how she's doing and what she is learning. Shoutout to Ms Gifty, Ms Xyre, Ms Desirae, and Ms Liset for having huge hearts, and being fantastic leaders in guiding our daughter to learn new skills each day and just putting a huge smile on her face (who inarguably has the best smile and I'm definitely not a biased father ) And thank you Sarah for being a great point of contact for all our needs and concerns, and always being a great advocate for the parents, teachers, and children! Looking forward to more years here for our daughter. read more

We are grateful for the awesome teachers: Ms Laura, Ms Gifty, Ms Xyre, Ms Liset and the others. They are always providing great activities and experiences for our daughter. As of today we now have 2 daughters attending the school and we feel assured they are in great hands. Thanks for all your hard work and attention. read more

Ms. Gifty is the best! She is very hands-on and treats our child so well! We wish we could have Ms. Gift for every level of our child's development! We cannot say enough great things about Ms. Gifty! read more

I started my son here at 4 months of age. I was a bit nervous that only two adults could handle so many babies because me with my one baby is hard enough. However, after receiving updates throughout the day, I felt so comfortable with him in their care. Ms. Jeanne in the Gigabytes room is amazing and has a great system. She communicated any of my sons needs throughout when I dropped him off/picked him up. She would call me if she was concerned about anything and was generally on top of his care (in addition to the other babies). The other non-full time staff were also fantastic. The principal, Arlene, is also very helpful and responsive to email and questions! We have moved and now have him in a different daycare in our new city because there is no Stepping Stone School here (*ahem* please open one up here!) and miss this place so much. The little projects sent home, the picture updates, and the log of ins/outs were so appreciated. I love that they have activities and group readings. I highly recommend this location (I already have 1 friend that enrolled her son and another with one on the way planning on taking their's here too). read more

We loved the school. it's a very clean, well managed, and has a spacious play area for the kids. The meal plan introduced our child to a variety of food. Ms Maggie who is the head of this branch is an example of a good leader. She is on top of everything which gives confidence to send the child to this school. Our daughter's teacher Ms Shruti is a very pleasant person and patient teacher. The other teachers are also very kind. My daughter loves Ms.Maggie, Ms. Shruti and her friends. She keeps talking about them all day long. Thanks for all the love and care given to our daughter. read more

Wanted to thank Mrs. Jasmyne for doing such a great job with our son. He always comes home happy and tired and when he lists out his "friends" at school he always says "and Mrs. Jasmyne!" thanks for all that you do! read more

We have had a wonderful experience at Stepping Stone - Parmer. Our daughter has been attending since she was 6 months old and has been in 2 different classrooms, and both have been excellent. The teachers are wonderful! I want to especially recognize and recommend Mrs. Laura, Mrs. Jeanne, Mrs. Gifty and Ms Xyre. They give so much love and personal attention to all the babies. You can tell how much they care about all of their students. Their knowledge and experience really shows and I know they have helped my daughter thrive. They coordinate fun activities and send daily updates and pictures that we love. The facilities at Parmer are very nice. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The outdoor area is wonderful and my daughter loves it. Overall we are very happy with our experience at Steeping Stone! read more

I have been an employee at Stepping Stone School for 3 years and counting! Working at Stepping Stone has giving me an opportunity to enjoy my work instead of dreading to go to work! I love every single one of my babies and look forward to spending time taking care of them and loving on them every single day! I recommend working at Stepping Stone School because of the staff and parents! Both are awesome!! read more

All teachers here are friendly. Principal Sarah gave us a tour patiently. We especially thanks to teacher Dhivya. My daughter had anxiety and had hard time to talk to people. Teacher Dhivya helps my daughter to conquer her fears and encourages her to talk. Now my daughter starts to try to use verbal language to communicate with others. We also like her teaching style that she encourages students to create their own unique works. all the teachers are taking care of kids carefully! Nice school! read more

Very satisfied. Teachers and staff work so hard, and communicate often. The curriculum is both highly varied and focused, and the levels are well structured. Covers science, art, math, literature, as well as soft skills, personal responsibility, physical activity, and fun. read more

My kids love this school! The director, Holly, is very personable and gives individual attention to the kids. She asks how I'm doing and follows up. Ms. Gabriel is a stellar teacher! She is very creative with her projects and seems to engage the kids really well. I love the songs she teaches for the kids to learn letters of the alphabet. I recommend this school! I also like that it's located back off McNeil... a little secluded. read more

Fmy daughter attends SSS at parmer / mcneil. We have been with them for the last 1.5 years. She went from being on speech therapy to eating 4 meals a day, fuss - free all by herself. The teachers and correspondent Sarah Ramirez are amazing in accomodating special needs. All complaints and concerns are addressed immediately and they leave no room for us to worry or stress over our child. Special mention to Ms.Dhivya, for being such a good teacher and following up with all of the progress and areas of improvement regarding our kid. She makes sure the kids learn kindness, absolutely no bullying or getting physical in her classroom. Every little concern we have is addressed with kindness and assurance. Ms.Dhivya is one of the best teachers i have seen in awhile. I was a sahm and after 3.5 years got back to work. I must say, i have zero anxiety at work because i am assures that my child get the best care at SSS parmer. I am glad to pay for this nutritious food / care and educational excellence anyday ! read more

My son has been at stepping stone since I first returned to work after maternity leave. We have had some wonderful teachers along the way but now I cannot say enough good things about Mrs Alex! she makes my momma heart happy with all the pictures she sends while I am at work. My grandson comes to this location and we love Stepping Stone. We love Ms. Alexis one of the infant teachers she is always so helpful when I come to pick up my grandson she lets me know about his day and her room is always so clean and smells so nice! She sends lots of pictures out daily of my grandson of all the activities they do during the day. Just yesterday I received a photo of him playing with the insides of a pumpkin she put them inside a big ziploc bag and taped it to the table what a fun activity i never would have thought to do this! He never wants to leave when I come and pick him up and always reaches for her when I drop him off in the morning which lets me know how much he loves her and that is the most valuable thing ever! read more

We used to be happy sending our kid to this school when Ms. Maggie was the principal. There used to be consistency with food curriculum and many other things(It might sound funny but I strongly believe that consistency in their schedule and surroundings is really important). One by one teachers started leaving and new teachers come in but don't stay for long. With in a span of 4 to 5 months my kid had around 5 to 6 different teachers. These days I am not even sure if my kid has any curriculum or not as I did not receive a single paper of his art work or anything thing they did in the class. Another change I noticed was his report now a days is not detailed like it used to be and some days i just get his diaper change details and nothing else. I love the teachers as they are friendly but the management not so much. I hope the HQ takes some action and take proper changes accordingly read more

We have had a great experience sending our son Jones to Stepping Stone at this location. We started him at 4 months and being our first child, we had been incredibly anxious to part from him. Laura and Jeanie have been incredible, and have made us feel so comfortable leaving him with him every day. He adores his teachers and always lights up when we hand him off to Laura, they are so insightful on his needs and great at communicating anything we need to know about what's going on with Jones. I'm grateful that if he is not with me I knwo that he is in great hands well cared for! read more

We have had a very positive experience so far at Stepping Stone - Parmer/McNeil. Every teacher I've come into contact with has been really great, but I especially have to recognize Laura Willis. She's an absolute natural and is SO wonderful with all the kids. My daughter, who is less than 1, adores her and is so excited every day to see her, which as a parent, is so reassuring. Thank you Laura for all that you do! We appreciate you! read more

I've had the opportunity while my son's been there to build a relationship with the staff. Both the teachers and admins care a lot about their work and the children they care for. I wouldn't want my son anywhere else. read more

My son has been attending this location since he was 8 weeks old. I cannot speak highly enough about Miss Allison, his teacher in Gigabytes! My daughter has been attending Stepping Stone for over a year and has learned so much! The social skills she learned have been great. She seems to enjoy going to school and loves all her friends and teachers she's had so far. I want to call out Ms. Denisha (sorry for possible misspelling) for being absolutely wonderful. Our daughter really loves her teacher which makes taking her to daycare a breeze. The Tadpoles app that is used to send pictures and videos is great! Would rate the school 5 stars but has to do with the lack of teacher she had over the summer. I believe that had lot to do with low summer attendance and teacher turnover, but it's mostly settled now. read more

The teachers and principal here are all so loving and caring. they have gone above and beyond for my kid, even lending a car seat when I needed it because my husband had my car. My child is excited to attend everyday and gets to play outside a ton on the wonderful playground and do so many activities. He's learning so much here. At pick up, they all recognize me and know exactly where my kiddo is located. The location is so clean; the staff do an amazing job overall. Highly recommend this location! read more

What a fun and exciting staff over the years my son has encountered zero problems and so that makes me feel at ease and less stress. My son absolutely adored his teacher, Ms. Jenn, in the Researchers (2 year old) class. She keeps the kids engaged and he learned a LOT while there. She has such love and patience for toddlers! She's a wonderful person! There tends to be high turnover at this campus which was always hard on my son when he would get a new teacher (when he was in the 1 year old class). We have since moved and found a daycare closer to home. read more

I am updating my review to share my appreciation for the new pre-K teacher, Miss Laycia. She has been absolutely amazing for my four year old as well as my two year old! She truly loves children and it shows. She cares for every child on the campus and goes out of her way to make them all feel special and loved. She also goes above and beyond in the classroom by creating fun and imaginative projects. She keeps the kids engaged all the while encouraging strong values and discipline. She has complete control of her classroom and the kids just love her. We are truly blessed to have her as our pre-K teacher! read more

My son is now 16 months old and has been at Stepping Stone for about a year. We've gone through new teachers, new directors, and a lot of problems with my son refusing to take a bottle. Through all this change, the folks at Stepping Stone have been loving and helpful to me and my kid. I'd like to single out Miss Jeanne, in the infant room, as especially wonderful. She and my son clicked and I have no doubts that she takes care of my son as she would take care of her own grandkids! read more

Love this school! I started bringing my baby here at 3 months and have had nothing but positive experiences with all the staff members. I was having such a hard time at first, but with their open door policy and the fact that they're located right next to my work, I've been able to come in during my lunch breaks to nurse. As a first time mom, those times spent in the classroom nursing my baby, The teachers have given me advice on what I can do with the baby when I am at home and things I would have never known if I never brought her here. Miss Anna and Miss Jeanne have taken such good care of my daughter that it's hard to imagine having anyone else care for her. Plus seeing my daughter with a smile on her face every time I hand her over to them eases my mind. Highly recommend! read more

My son went here for about a year. PLEASE PARENTS KEEP LOOKING DONT PUT YOUR CHILDREN HERE. TAKE THE TIME AND RESEARCH THE SCHOOLS YOUR CHILDREN WILL ATTEND. I walked in and witnessed my toddler at the time who fell down crying needing help up as the young staff member sat on a stool and intentionally starred at him unwilling to get off her a-- and help. There was such a high turn over rate at this school. These aren't qualified teachers that are educated in child development. The quality of staff they hire in my opinion is not suitable for young growing children who soak up everything like a sponge. Stepping stone should branch out be willing to pay there staff more and therfore set a higher standard of care and education. Our children deserve MORE!!! read more

Our daughter really loved her time at Stepping Stone School Parmer. The facility was always organized and clean (hard to do with a LOT of kiddos!) and the staff were always friendly and helpful. We felt truly cared for while our daughter was enrolled. We're sad we had to move away! Miss Holly, Miss Gabriel and Miss Erica are super professional and caring. We miss them very much! read more

I love the staff and the care has been amazing ! I have 3 kids and all of my kids have attended Stepping Stone at some point since 2008. My older kids now are in grade school and have asked me if they can go back to spend time with the staff during the summers because they love the care they received from the staff too. My youngest (3) still attends and I love the daily tadpoles pictures and videos I recieve about my son's day and we love sharing these photos and clips to his Grandparents also . From the musicians who come to visit on site to the optional sports programs, we couldn't be happier. My son loves walking in to see his teacher in the morning and spending the day with his friends . So I hope if you are considering a child care facility that you look at Stepping Stone first . I appreciate everything they do to help my kids succeed beyond the classroom academically and socially . read more

Stepping Stone School - Parmer - Just an awesome example of the care my child receives at Stepping stone. The Staff is always looking for creative ways to help kids learn . - Child Care & Day Care Near Me - Austin, Texas

My daughter has been attending Stepping Stone school at Parmer location since she was two years old and we have been extremely happy with the teachers/staff at this location. The environment is clean, safe, fun and organized for the kids. As a mom to a 4 year old, this means a great deal to me. The principle Ms Holly is amazing. Very approachable and easy to talk to about any situation that may arise. Arlene, Ms. Gabrielle and Ms. Lisa have also been fantastic with my daughter. I absolutely recommend stepping stone to other parents. I have no doubt that Ms. Gabrielle who is the teacher of the kindergarten readiness program will have my daughter prepared and ready to attend Kindergarten next year! read more

Love the staff!! Love the facilities!! My kids love it more. My oldest son Noah is at Stepping Stone and has been for about a year. He walks in everyday to smiling teachers and staff that are excited to see him. He gets fed, educated and gets plenty of exercise all for affordable rates. The hours are conducive to a working schedule and it makes my life easier. The teacher that kind of runs the show is Miss Gabriel. She is the best. Her love of the children is obvious and she works tirelessly to make school fun and enjoyable for the kiddos. And when I say school, I mean school. It is a school program, not your typical daycare. The projects that Miss Gabriel puts together blow me away. My son is always so proud to show me new artwork, new words, new songs, new games, and new skills he has learned. My son Noah can be a handful too and I love the appropriate level of discipline that is applied. Everything is talked out with the child and then communicated to the parents so that everyone is on the same page. Nothing like a unified front to get kids on the right path. My wife and I decided to change his diet to help with his behavior and the school has accommodated in helping us limit his sugar intake to help his ability to control his behavior. We have now decided to send our 2 smaller boys to Stepping Stone in the fall. We trust them so much we have changed our plans to keep them home until 3 years old and start the school process now. The benefits completely outweigh the reasons to keep them home. Finally Miss Holly who runs the school does a great job. She is there in the mornings and in the evenings making sure things are running right. She is great about communication and she clearly picks good staff. She is still "on the job" too as most times I find her in the nursery helping with the little babies. I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Stepping Stone on Parmer Lane. It took my wife and me four years to trust someone with our oldest son and we are so thankful we found such qualified and trustworthy people to handle it. Stepping Stone on Parmer Lane is the best!! read more

I would not recommend this place. We started our 3 month old here and it was a big mistake. We wanted a place that would give our daughter individual attention and adequately care for her, and this place was just the opposite. There are only 2 caretakers in the room for 8 or 10 babies. There was no way any baby in this room ever gets all the attention they deserve. After 2 days of having our daughter here we took her out . We made this decision because in an 8 hour day she was only fed 4 ounces! That's unacceptable for a 3 month old or any baby to be fed that little. My baby takes awhile to finish a bottle and I felt nobody took the time to feed her properly . Nor did anyone call me to tell me if their was an issue. Also when my boyfriend picked her up he walked into her laying on the mat screaming her lungs out so much she had boogers coming out of her nose. Knowing that she was left screaming and hungry is devastating as a parent. I am writing this review to save other parents the heart ache of going through a bad daycare experience. I wish we never brought her here read more

Stepping Stone in Parmer is disgusting. Cons : 1. The restrooms are not clean/they stink 2. The toys and blankets are not sanitized/disinfected unlike in other daycares 3. Individual report is not sent unlike in other day cares 4. Lunch menu is messed up - they have something and they feed something else 5. Teachers keep changing and staff is not trained, and not suitable to the role and as such management doesnt even care what is being taught in the rooms The teachers dont know to discipline the kids and the consequence is kids throwing lot of tantrums. There is nothing exciting about this daycare other then saving few 100 bucks. Eversince my kid joined there, he's been getting cold/cough/fever/runny nose/strep throat(twice in a month). The director(Holley) in the day care is non sense and has no communication skills. She only knows to sell Stepping Stone, but not maintain the promises made while selling. If you want your kid to be growing academically, please DO NOT even think of enrolling him/her there. My advice to the management - Fire Holley and find a good director to the day care who know how to hire good teaching staff who can manage the kids well read more

The hardware is good here but in the toddler room there are too many kids, 13 with only two teachers, and my daughter was not getting enough attention. She ended up sick for two weeks after just 4 days starting the day care here. read more

My son was at this daycare for less than a year and in that time he had 2 school directors and 5 different teachers. I don't know why the first director left, but under her leadership, we saw him not getting enough water in the summer when they played outside, poor reporting, and bad diaper rash. The second director seems very well intentioned, but was unable to address our issues. We complained several times that our "Tadpoles" report (his daily report) was not filled out properly, or was missing all together. Many times, we didn't know when our son slept, ate, what he ate, or if he was changed. It was extremely disheartening and the director, Holly, assured us she was taking care of it. It admittedly got slightly better after we complained, but then it went back downhill a month later. There were lots of excuses about the app not working right, but at a certain point, you have to admit that it's the user, not the app. The Tadpoles reports were never fixed even though we were assured everyone went through training and that Holly personally looked into the issue. Then came the biting. I get it, kids bite. But my son was getting bit every week, multiple times a week and nothing was done about it. Most of the time, I almost never got an incident report (in fact, I had to initiate the conversation and ask for an incident report), and honestly, the majority of the time, the teacher either didn't see what happened, or didn't even notice he was bitten. We had to take pictures during his bath time to show the bruises and bite marks literally all over his body. They were on his legs, hands, arms, shoulders, back, and neck. He actually woke up screaming "NO!" in the middle of the night after he was bitten 7 times in 3 days. The last straw was when he was bitten twice in the same day and the teachers saw it happen but did nothing. I spoke to Holly about this and she tried to laugh it off saying, "We saw what happened, but couldn't get there fast enough." Literally smiling and trying to laugh. NO. You see it happen once, go immediately break it up. There is no way that in those tiny rooms, you couldn't get over to the kids and break it up before the second bite happened. Ridiculous. After we were again assured that this was being taken care of, we decided that enough was enough and we had to get my son out of there. He continued to get bit, his reports continued to be incomplete and we got out of there. I think Holly is very well intentioned, but things are slipping through the cracks there. "Good intentions, with a bad approach, often lead to a poor result." That's what's happening. I don't think there's any leadership at this school. There's extremely high turnover with the teachers and that reflects in the care for the children. We moved to a new daycare where my sons teachers have been working together for 10 years and have great reviews from both people I know, and online. My son is sleeping better at night and his reports are fully completed. I know when he eats, sleeps, goes potty, and everything else. Best of all, no biting. He looks genuinely happy when I pick him up. Please don't go to Stepping Stone. I didn't mention this, but we were called by the TX Dep. of Family and Protective Services about a case of child neglect at the facility in Dec 2014. The results are up at https://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child_Care/ppFacilityDetails.asp?ptype=DC&fid=209367 We had a terrible experience and am so grateful we were able to move. read more
