Our 1 year old just started going to Didactica and despite me being anxious about letting her go, Miss Gladys and her classroom have been so wonderful at ensuring our girl is happy and taken care of. We get photos and updates all day long which help with knowing she's doing alright, and they are soooo friendly and supportive of how we can best help her feel the happiest when she's there!! read more

Didactica has been a wonderful and loving community to join! We moved to Austin with our 14 month old son and immediately enrolled him in full time care with Didactica. We had such a great experience with Miss Glady, Nelly and Erika in his first classroom. He has now transitioned to the one of the older classrooms and we absolutely love Miss Julie. Each morning he has a smile on his face when we talk about going to school and seeing all his friends and Miss Julie. It has been amazing seeing his language skills develop at Didactica and understanding so much Spanish before the age of 2! We now have our 5 month old baby girl enrolled as well and she has been with Miss Yisel since she was just 2 months old. We know she is safe, happy and loved in the classroom and is always welcomed with a smile! Miss Eva, the assistant director, has always been great at communicating with us and clearly loves the school and children! We are so fortunate to have found Didactica for our family! read more

Didactica was the second Spanish Immersion preschool we toured upon moving to Austin and we immediately knew we had found our daughter's home for the next five years. The Director Ms. Gaby was warm, welcoming, and took the time to sit with us to explain the Spanish immersion program and and answer all of our questions. The children we saw in the classrooms and on the playground were full of joy and very well supervised. Now as I reflect back on our daughter's time there I'm filled with such gratitude. She made countless friends, experienced many new things including soccer/tennis classes and field trips (on hold due to Covid), learned to comprehend Spanish extremely well, was doted on by her teachers and was kept safe always but particularly during the 16 months she attended during Covid. I'm so glad we trusted our instincts and Didactica's staff to care for our child. We couldn't possibly be happier with our experience. read more

We have sent our kids here for past 3 years and it has been a great experience. Most importantly, it is a safe and loving environment. Our children have learned so much Spanish and developed in many other ways with the help of the teachers. The teachers are truly special. We've had many play a distinct role in our kids' development over the years. In particular Miss Betty has gone above and beyond to help our kids navigate transitions (starting school, new sibling, etc.) and make sure they feel heard and loved. Would highly recommend! read more

We are very happy with our experience with Didactica. As a new mom, it was hard to know who I could trust or where we should have our daughter spend the majority of her weekdays. We're four months in, and we're very happy with our decision. Her teachers - Ms Jiannis, Ms Yucci and Ms Leidy - are very engaging and attentive to our daughter. I can tell that they genuinely care about her by the way that they interact with her and talk about her. And, my daughter also seems happy to see them. Our daughter is on a consistent eating and sleeping schedule everyday at school. They give us a report about the details of her day with photos (when and what she ate, how long she napped, diapers). And, it's extra assurance that we can check the video camera feed if we want to. We like that our daughter is immersed in Spanish and sign language. If you, yourself, are not fluent in Spanish, it is possible you may not understand some of the most complicated or nuanced things the teachers communicate to you in Spanish, but asking for clarification when you don't understand is helpful. The school's director, Gaby, is communicative, responsive and has hosted events to create a community feel. I trust Didactica's staff and feel good about our daughter in their care. read more

Our 8 month old Ona goes to Didactica, all her teachers, but especially Yucci and Jianice have become part of her family. She smiles wide when she sees them and throws hers arms up with Joy. It's apparent how much they care for our little girl and we are so happy to be part of such a loving and caring daycare. Gracias, Didactica!!! read more

Highly recommend Didactica!! Our son has been going here for 2 years, and we all absolutely love it. All of the teachers and staff are wonderful and extremely friendly. Miss Betty is an amazing teacher, and she really cares about our child's development and well being. Our son comes home singing all the songs, and teaches us all the phrases that he learns in Spanish. We love getting the pictures and videos too, so fun to keep up with their classroom antics! read more

The Teacher's here are amazing. My daughter just turned one and she has been going here for about 6 months. She is excited to arrive every morning and is happy and smiling when I pick her up. She is weak taken care of and so happy here. Her current teachers, Gladys and Nelly, seem to truly love all of the kids and the kids love them back! read more

Our daughter started at Didactica last summer. I did a lot of research about where to send our youngest to as we moved across town and weren't close to the daycare our eldest went to. But after several weeks and hours and hours of research and multiple tours, we decided on Didactica. The infant room has a great vibe to it, with the kitchenette it almost feels like a home. The rooms are kept very clean, the teachers are all warm, kind and truly care for the little ones and the director is very prompt, organized and communicative. Our daughter moved up to the next age group after the holidays and I have to admit I was nervous about that! (My baby growing up!) But it was a pretty seamless transition, the teachers are really great about helping her work on new skills, are very supportive and loving. They're just helping her thrive and we're so appreciative for it. The app is great as you're able to keep up with their day and get photos. And also, there is little to no turnover which is huge for me. It's important for a business to value and treat their team well, that's how you get great people to stick around! And it's helpful and comforting to have the same friendly and familiar faces for your little one to see rather than someone new all the time. Overall, we've had a fantastic experience at Didactica, everyone there is wonderful and most importantly our daughter just lights up when she sees her teachers. So glad we found this place! read more

Both my children attend Didactica (ages 4 months and 2 years) and I have had the most amazing experiences here and will continue to have my children attend here until they age out. The teachers are loving and kind. They build relationships with all the children in and outside of their classroom. Which as a parent makes me feel so comfortable knowing that there are multiple teachers who understand my child's needs. The facility feels like home! It's small, colorful and full of life. After viewing many other daycares my husband and I felt instant relief and peace when we entered didactica for the first time. Staff is very communicative and there are always fun learning activities to keep children engaged and excited. Can't recommend this place enough!! read more

We have truly enjoyed having both our children at Didactica. The Spanish Immersion experience is priceless. But we have also valued the work and dedication of all the teachers, particularly Miss Betty. She loves the kiddos so well, understands their needs, encourages their learning and development, is so patient, and is so approachable. We love her! read more

We love Didactica and we love our sons' teacher, Miss Betty. She is so loving & kind and we've seen huge improvements in his verbal and cognitive skills in the past year that he's been in her class. Miss Betty was instrumental in helping us potty train in a single weekend and helped us keep the progress going over the next week at school with only one or two accidents (he's 3)...we wouldn't have been able to reach this milestone without her guidance and support. Didactica offers great family events throughout the year, excellent parent/teacher communication through the Brightwheel App and solid skills that will help prepare our kiddo for pre-k and kindergarten when the time comes. We love Miss Betty and are so thankful that our son gets to spend time with her a couple days a week...highly recommend. read more

From the moment I toured Didactica I felt that Gabriela was taking Covid precautions seriously and doing everything to ensure the safety of her students and staff. Due to Covid, parents are understandably not allowed on school grounds. I always looked forward to picking up my son and peeking through the fence to watch him interact with his friends. It wasn't unusual to see his teachers actively engaging with, or providing comfort to the children. I am so pleased with how our two year old son progressed while at Didactica. He is extremely shy and his teachers, Arianna and Mayra, provided the right amount of support to help bring him out of his shell. Leaving your child is never easy but Arianna, Mayra, and Gabriela consistently provided updates on how my son was doing and I could tell that he was comfortable around them. The only reason we left Didactica is because we are moving away from the area. We will genuinely miss Arianna and Mayra and wish the entire staff the best wishes in the future. read more

We used Didactica for our son from 6 months to a little over 2 years old. We very much recommend the school. We left because we moved across town and didn't want to do a long commute for daycare. The teachers are great. You can sincerely tell that they genuinely care for the kids and that our kid likes them, too. I credit the director for keeping a great long tenured team. The facilities are nice and it's really fun to pick up the kiddos in the playground area in the evening. Also, during the entire time of COVID to date, the school only closed one time for a week where just one teacher was confirmed to have it. Since no daycare is perfect in every way, I think it's appropriate to say what was a little frustrating for us. Day to day communication is difficult sometimes for us who don't speak much or fluent Spanish. Many teachers speak perfect English but if you have quick questions at pickup or drop off, you can't count on having easy communication in English. The director helps facilitate communication but it is still challenging to get some of the answers you need without follow ups. However, our overall experience is still very positive and worth a 5-star review. Our son being exposed to Spanish at such a young age with wonderful teachers is worth any communication hassles to us. read more

Our daughter attended from 6-15 months and was obviously loved and cared for by her incredible teachers in the infant and toddler classes (Ms Vero, Ms Gladys, and Ms Daneli!). She was excited to go to school every day. Director Ms Gaby was highly responsive from when we first contacted her for an facility tour till our daughter's last day. The only reason we left was to accept more affordable employer-subsidized care! Very grateful overall for the experience we had here. read more

My daughter started at Didactica when she was 8 months old, and now she is 3.. Every teacher she had, we adored. Her experience at this school was exactly what she needed to thrive. The director Miss Gaby was always responsive and tailored any needs i had for my daughter. We sadly moved from the area, and had to start a new school.. My daughter still talks about her teachers and the amazing playground. What I loved the most about this place was they are focus on playing, and being outside. read more

Our Daughter spent 2 years at Didactica, starting when she was 6 months old and wow, what a great experience! The Teachers are the most loving and caring individuals we could ask for. The cameras in the infant room gave me the peace of mind I needed in the first few weeks and her smiling face each and every day during drop off and pick up as a toddler let me know that each day was filled with joy and entertainment. We recently relocated to NYC, otherwise, our daughter would still be attending Didactica! I would highly recommend Didactica to anyone looking for full day care for their infant, toddler or preschooler! read more

My 10 month old absolutely loves didactica. Her teachers are so sweet and take such great care of her (we can see through their camera streaming.) They are strict with Covid procedures and temperature check the kids before they enter the school. Parents aren't allowed in. We see them constantly cleaning the room which is also reassuring. My baby has the biggest smile when they come pick her up and she doesn't look back at me once (even though she's experiencing a lot of separation anxiety right now.) She is so excited for school every day, it's really cute. Their playground looks like so much fun and the entire school has a very home-y feel. Their director is incredibly responsive, she always answers. The kids come home with the cutest art projects. Diapers are changed constantly and she never comes home soiled. They are Texas Rising Star certified AND she gets to learn Spanish every day. Hours are 7-6 which is super convenient because most daycares in Austin have terrible hours. Even though we are moving across the city, we have to keep our baby at Didactica as long as possible because she loves her life when she's at school. read more

Didactica Spanish Immersion Preschool - School art projects. Turkey head. - Preschools Near Me - Austin, Texas

All 3 of my kids attended Didáctica since they opened in 2015. It's an amazing school with loving teachers right in our Zilker backyard. My kids quickly became fluent in Spanish and have now gone into a dual language elementary program. They are flourishing from the foundation they got at Didactica. We still keep in touch with the teachers and even send our youngest back on some days when we are in need of childcare. I highly recommend this school and Ms. Gabby. Your kids will be loved on! read more

Please read this: it is a serious safety issue. Our daughter attended this school last year 2 full days a week for about 9 months when she was 3 years old. During that time, she had 2 teachers who where very sweet, but otherwise there was nothing special about the school. One afternoon my husband and I met after work at the school to pick up our 3 year old together. When we opened the gait (which ANY adult could access from the parking lot by simply lifting the latch- there is no gate code) we looked around at the 15 children, ages 1 year old- 3 years old on the tiny playground, and there was NOT ONE teacher outside at all. We found our daughter and sort of stood there for a minute- long enough to sign her out and gather her things. A couple minutes later 2 teachers came out- one from the restroom and one from inside the school. When we asked them why they had left all of the kids alone on the playground where any stranger could have come onto the grounds- they both stated that they did not speak English. We took our daughter home and called the director Gabi who as usual was not at the school. When I explained to Gabi that both my husband and I arrived to find that all of the children where outside without any supervision, she stated: "No, that did not happen. One of the teachers was behind a tree." I told her that was not possible because we walked around the playground and there was no one there- and then we both saw the 2 teachers emerge from the building, she still insisted that I was wrong. At that time I told her that our daughter would not longer be going to school there and that I would be making a report to the state, and she stated "Perfect." Please consider that the school is in the middle of a very busy parking lot off of S. Lamar. ANYONE can access the playground. Your child may or may not be supervised at any given time. The manager is almost never there. I hope this helps keep your child safe- at a different school. read more

Our daughter started attending Didactica when she was 6-months old. The sweet teachers taught her so many things such as how to hold her own bottle, sit up, crawl, walk, run, share, etc. Her first word was "agua" for water, and she learned how to say she was present in the classroom in Spanish. The Director, Gabriella, was always so quick to respond via email, text, and phone call. Every teacher LOVED our daughter. Unfortunately, we are moving across town so therefore have had to transfer to another daycare, but after almost 2 year, I can't say enough wonderful things about the director, all the kind and caring teachers, as well as the clean and well-kept facilities at Didactica. We will truly miss them! read more

Our daughter didn't start going to daycare until she was 18 months old, and as a first time Mother, I was extremely nervous about daycare in general. Not only has Didactica relieved my feeling of anxiety but the teachers and the Director truly have made me view the daycare as a great enhancement to my daughter's life. She loves it there! There's nothing better than seeing your child happy under another caretakers supervision that is not your own. Our now 20 month old has become a little social butterfly since going to Didactica- talking more, super curious, always wanting to read and explore. We can really see a big difference in her. Overall, the environment is safe and sincere and I highly recommend it to any parent wanting to put their child in daycare! read more

We loved our time at Didactica! Our daughter went for the summer - she was happy each day at drop off and pick up, and the staff are very caring and thoughtful. The director is responsive, easy to work with, and made the schedule work for our family. read more

My daughter spent 2.5 years here and thrived here - Her teachers were energetic and creative and she made friends that she truly loves. Gabbi was always responsive and incredibly flexible, and the facility was always clean. My daughter very rarely caught anything at school due to the staffs diligence. Her Spanish is also excellent as a result of the program. I would not hesitate to recommend DIDACTICA! read more

I wanted to take a moment to truly show my gratitude for everyone at Didactica. We have a 3 year old son and an 18 month old daughter who have been going to school here since April and we are in awe of how well they are doing with their Spanish. It is amazing!! We feel so lucky to have found such loving and amazing teachers and caretakers to our little ones. Everyday they are so excited to go to school and everyday they don't want to leave! So to Gabby and everyone who makes our children lives so happy, THANK YOU! read more

We love Didactica! My baby has been going here since he was 4 months old, and the teachers are so sweet and caring with the kids. Gaby, the director, is super responsive and impresses me with her care and attention to running a clean, friendly environment at the school. The baby-class teachers - Ms. Ibon, Ms. Ruth, Ms. Sandra - treat them with such love and sweetness. Cameras allow us to check in whenever we want to see what everyone in the class is up to; this has allowed me to feel connected to my baby even while working, and to make sure I always feel comfortable with what is going on. The teachers make sure the babies rotate to different types of activities (lying in chairs, playing on the floor, stand up jumper-things) throughout the day, and when I asked that my baby get more floor time they didn't hesitate to change up the routine to my preferences. I've even learned a lot about parenting from what they do, taking on the school feeding schedule at home for bottles and snacktimes. Leaving my new baby at any daycare felt scary to me at first, but Didactica has given me confidence at every turn. Wonderful place! read more

We have been very happy here! The director Gabby is very responsive, unlike some schools that we interviewed. We received lots of communication from the school on the upcoming curriculum, what our kids are doing, and extracurricular opportunities like soccer or tennis. Most importantly our son has been very happy and is thriving! He knows his school, hugs his teachers, and is speaking both English and Spanish consistently, as well as mastering the basic curriculum that is right for his age. read more

My daughter started attending Didactica at 12 months and has been there a little over a year. As a first time mom, I certainly had my fears and anxieties, but Ms. Gaby the Director, and the teachers have been wonderful. My daughter took her time to adjust after being at home for a year. But the teachers have always been extremely patient, caring, and kind. I've always been able to address any comments about my daughters care with both Ms. Gaby and her teachers. I've always ask what can I do better as a parent to ensure my child's needs are met. Ms. Gaby has been more than accommodating during any transitions to our schedule and her quick responses to my emails assures me of her professionalism. My daughter loves her current teachers: Ms. Sofia, Ms. Ariana, and Ms. Betty. She even cries when they have to leave for the day. My daughter also needs special care for her eyes, as she wears contacts and glasses. All the teachers are aware and have been extremely accommodating of the additional care. Gives me a piece of mind. I love the structure of Didactica. My daughter learns age appropriate material, she gets plenty of outside play time, and they offer plenty of additional activities, such as water day, soccer, tennis, to name a few. I picked them because their schedule is extremely flexible as a working mom and it was extremely important for my daughter to learn a second language. Plus, the teachers keep the school extremely clean and organized! I don't doubt my decision to pick Didactica to care for my child. read more

We had a wonderful experience with Didactica. Our daughter attended from the age of four months until 3. We absolutely loved all of her teachers there and are still in touch with some of them now. One example of their love for the children; when our daughter walked for the first time in school, multiple teachers cheered her on and even took videos to share with us. Our daughter learned quite a bit while there as well as made some of her now best friends. We truly love this little school. read more

We have had both of our children at Didactica for over two years now and it has been amazing. The teachers love them like their own children and are so patient with them and us. The kids' Spanish is really good and I'm so happy they are continuing to learn! The Director, Ms. Gabby, is phenomenal. She has very high standards, is incredibly communicative and accommodating. Leaving your children somewhere you trust is so important and I know they are so well looked after and loved while they are at Didactica. Ms. Gabby and team have managed through COVID as well as I could ever ask for - communicating frequently and working with parents. They enacted safety protocol including daily temperature checks of the children and those dropping them off and don't allow anyone other than the kids and teachers in the building. I'm very thankful for Didactica and it being a part of our family. read more

I. I really can't say enough about how amazing our daughters experience was at this school. She started around one and we watched her grow in leaps and bonds over the year there. Miss Gabby, the director, couldn't be more kind and available to the parents. June also had two incredible teachers, Miss Dana and Miss Sofia. I felt they truly loved our daughter and we trusted them immensely. The school itself is adorable, has a great Spanish curriculum and is convenient. We paid a hefty rate to save a spot for our child on the waitlist. We were told November-December 2017 they would be able to start. Well it's August 2018 and we still have not received any form of communication regarding our spot. Essentially they took our money. read more

Teachers are wonderful but the director is the opposite. We requested them to save the leftover food my son did not finish so we could gauge how much he's consumed because he's had feeding issues since he was an infant and on the one-digit percentile for weight. They failed to do so consistently after at least 3-4 repeated requests we made. They would throw out everything. They give this daily report that looks exactly the same for every kid every day that says, AM Snack, Lunch, PM Snack eaten well or not well with # of diaper changes and mood. Every damn day, they circled my child ate well and slept exactly 2 hours and felt happy without a fail for ten months. They got busted when one day my mother went and picked up my son at 3, instead of 5, and they had already circled he had eaten everything; my mom walked into untouched snacks from both AM & PM. When confronted, Director said that we came to pick him up too early. I said, the report should've not been completed until he actually had all his snacks. She kept arguing that it was my mother's fault for coming too early. My child also would come home with bite marks, chipped tooth and so forth and when asked what happened or why we did not receive any incident reports, Director never failed to say, "it didn't happen here. Nobody heard him cry." When we questioned the quality of adult supervision, Director would visibly get upset and raised her voice to defend in her broken English. (She only partially understands what is communicated. That's also a problem because she doesn't quite get what you're telling her.) There was a time when I got there to pick up my son, there were 17 (mixed ages from 6mo-2yrs because they combined the two for whatever reason) kids being herded by just two adults creating a very dangerous situation. When I asked the director about the situation, she insisted for good 30 minutes on the phone arguing with me that there was a third personnel that I did not see. There was another mom who stood there with me to count the number of kids for good five minutes and neither one of us saw the third personnel she claimed to be there. Director is very rude., as you can already tell. When I would ask questions on the phone, she talked over me constantly and the last time I talked to her, she hung up on me and told us to take our son out. (And to be completely honest, I was raising my voice back at her, I won't lie) The very last draw for us was that my son cried for months at the drop-off AND at the pick-up. Drop-off, understandable. But at the pick-up, my son would see me over the window and start crying, running to me every single day for at least 4 months. He was so unhappy but he wasn't talking at the time to let us know he was unhappy. Now that he's 2.5 years old, when we ask him if he wants to go back to his 'old school,' he says, "no!! I don't want to. I want to go to my new school." I should've known better and followed mother's instinct and pull him out way before she told us to take him out. But my dear husband insisted I was overreacting until crap hit the ceiling fan. She is also rarely there to supervise. We were there for ten months and my husband and I could count the times we saw her. I would not recommend this place to any parent. To give you more of a credibility behind all these things I wrote, I am a principal at an elementary school of 830 students who's been in education for 15 years to know what's good and bad when it comes down to the quality of a learning environment. read more

Our son has been going to Didactica since he was 18 months old and we couldn't be happier with their always welcoming, attentive and nurturing approach. He is about to turn 4 and we have been so impressed with all the ways he has blossomed there. He thinks his teacher Miss Gina is the bees knees and comes home impressing us with new Spanish words and songs and showing constant improvement with his gross and fine motor skills. The playground areas are spacious and nicely shaded, and there seems to be a nice balance between structured activities and free play throughout the day. But our biggest compliment to the school has been the trust we have felt since day one that he is being well cared for by kind teachers who truly love teaching and caring for little ones. Miss Gabby, the director, has always been super responsive and has clearly put her heart and soul into creating this sweet little school. She is always going the extra mile and organizes special community events like going to the Austin Nature Center, trick or treating at the neighborhood assisted living facility and having a school Easter egg hunt where all are welcome. She also sends regular email updates about what is going on at the school and sends pictures so parents can see what their kids are up to during the day. We could not have asked for a better spot for our son to learn, play, and grow and would highly recommend Didactica to any parents looking for a school w/ family-like approach where kids get to have fun and learn Spanish too! read more

We have two children that currently attend this school. My eldest started when he was 11 months and he is now 2 years old and we started taking our infant when he was 3 months old part-time. Overall, I have been very happy with the school. My oldest loves all the teachers, I can tell because when I pick him up he gives all of them big hugs, even the ones that are not his direct teachers. I know how hard it can be searching for a good daycare/school for your children but I can honestly say it is a good school. The teacher turnover is really low, the staff looks very happy and seem to genuinely care about the kids and the Director Ms. Gabby is very sweet and very accommodating.
