This school has helped me a lot. The program that brought me to the United States had ended after five months of my arrival to the US and I found myself facing the fact that I should go back to my country, Palestine. I was absolutely terrified of the idea. I talked about my fears to Amrin, and she, in turn, talked to her parents. I met with Anjum, and she decided to extend my scholarship another semester to learn English, then find my way to get my higher education. I will not forget when she told me, "You are like my daughter, and I will not throw you on the street". The teachers in this school are high effective and very sensitive to the needs of the students. They also respect the cultural differences among students because the school has students from around the world. They were so helpful for me when I was a student there and after I graduated. After seven months, I was able to apply for a university with a very good level of English. When I started at St. Edward's University, I had some difficulties in writing. House of Tutors did not leave me alone. Marta, my writing teacher helped me editing each paper I wrote in my first and second semester at the university. She did not leave alone struggling with the new system at the university even she was very busy with her classes and her writing. Alex Mclelland also helped me with a final paper I wrote for one of my classes, and he also helped me registering for my classes. When Anjum knew that I had difficulties with writing in my school, she told Suzan to arrange tutoring for me to help me overcome this problem. When I finished with the program that brought me to the US, I had to move to live alone. At that time, I did not have internet in my apartment; the owners let me using the school internet and also printing all the documents in the school. The owners of this school did not leave me alone in the first Eied: the celebration of the end of Ramadan. They took me with them to prayer, and they invited me to have breakfast with them and their friends. This behavior made me feel loved because I have no family here, and what they did for me filled this gap. The last month was the hardest ever for me because of the war on Gaza. None of the teachers or the staff left me alone. The owners and the staff always asked about me and my family, the teachers did so. Suzan, one of the employees there. She is also my best friend, and who I knew from school did not leave me alone. She took me for a week to stay at her house to make sure I am ok. She let me staying in her house and also celebrating Eied with her family. Suzan also helped me and took me to take the vaccine for school and other things like driving me to pick up my books for school, besides letting me joining some activities with her family like dinners and shopping. I am now an intern at House of Tutors to learn how to teach English as a second language for Arabic students struggling with comprehension. The internship is a unique and distinctive experience for me for several reasons. First, this internship gives me the opportunity to meet students from different countries of the world, and that means I have a chance to know different cultures, enriching my personal experience. Second, the experience of teaching is interesting. Teaching English as a second language gives me the feeling that I am a capable of change by helping the students to learn something new they will benefit from in the future. Third, this internship has given me the opportunity to know the teaching methods and materials used by teachers: photos, videos, and working in groups. Fourth, working with school staff also makes ​​me get to know other activities carried out by the school, particularly the extracurricular ones. Fifth, the internship also gives me the opportunity to meet many people, and this means building a good social network. Jumping from the corporate world straight to Hoft was a huge change for me. Hoft surprised me with the teaching methodology and how serious teachers are regarding our learning journey. For example, after some classes I had the feeling to adjust the level, which was properly handled by the leadership. Hoft is an English school that I would recommend to anyone, not only because it really enhances our vocabulary, grammar, reading and pronunciation, but also because of its location in downtown, being very easy to come to the class. House of tutors is an excellent school to study English, because they have a great team of professionals and the environment is great. All the tutors who taught me were very nice and gave me very useful information about business and grammar. I really loved my classes with Brian, because we had to discuss and be aware of the news and all the current changes in the US and the world. This semester at HOFT was a bit challenging to me. I started working with a school as a volunteer, obtained my driver's license, and opted for four-day-a-week classes. After attending two semesters successfully with a two-day-a-week schedule, I went for an experiment. I made three major changes after discussion with Mr. Blair: My coursework here in HOFT was very helpful to me, while communicating with families to build trust and rapport, addressing their questions and concerns about their child's progress. During the semester break, I passed the driving test, so I started driving to school, then HOFT, then school, then back home. In the beginning, it was quite difficult, but I overcame my fear in time. In the previous semesters, I had two classes a week. Now, this semester I attend four days a week. Studying every day, doing homework, and being attentive have become a challenge for me. But all the teachers were so helpful. They comfortably delivered their lectures, which is why it was a wonderful experience. read more

DO NOT GO THERE to get any GMAT score improved. I do not know about other classes they offer, but for GMAT, it was horrible. I took it this summer. It was $799 which is a lot of money for a little over 1 month length of course. The teacher was always late and he looked at his phone all the tme during the class. He got distracted often. He couldn't solve several math problems. He is not professional at what he is doing. I do not think he prepared for the class before he came to the class. Their computer system was aweful too. I could not take a practice test on their computer because their computer systems were not working properly most time, so I had to do a practice test at home. When I finished the course, I took a practice test at home. The score I got was exactly same as the diagnostic test. I am VERY UPSET. I wasted money away. DO NOT GO THERE. You might think you could improve the score by taking this course. It is wrong. Just buy books and study by yourself. It is all about practice anyway. read more

My academic journey at HOFT institute was incredible. I studied English as my first language for nearly 14 years of my education so the ESL program was easier for me.
