I didn't actually act up that much, but there are still some moments that will live in my head until I die. Great experience here except for that one kid that bit me that one time. Seeing the classrooms in those pictures really brought back the memories. It's unfortunate that I have forgotten 90% of the French I learned here, but that isn't the schools fault. Really nice little school. Will always cherish the great (and bad) memories I made here.

They would listen to the way you pronounce words, they would look at your lips and tongue position (which might be funny in the beginning) and they would correct the sounds you make. So I eventually took the full course and I can't be happier. I could hear improvements every day after the class and I gained more confidence when speaking. Thank you!!

We had our daughter attend the downtown campus this summer and first few weeks of fall. I felt that the communication between the teachers and parents was lacking and come to find out the teachers do not speak english. When we toured the school, we were told the teachers would only speak spanish, as it is a spanish immersion program. However, with preschoolers, it is essential they at least are able to understand what the children are saying and be able to attend to their needs (even if it's in spanish). We noticed our daughter was coming home upset and nothing was being said when I would pick her up from school, so I assumed it was nothing serious. Well, one day at pick up she was clearly being bullied by 2 kids, and although the teacher witnessed this behavior, she did nothing to intervene or use this as an educational opportunity to show inclusivity and kindness. We had a meeting with the teacher and director and we came to the conclusion that the language barrier was the cause. The owner was not understanding and blamed us for not bringing it up sooner. How could we, if the teachers are not communicating? With there being so many other great school/daycare options, I would not recommend this one. The value is not there, the curriculum is lacking for the preschool age group, and the way they handle business is unprofessional.

My family was part of the INIC community for nearly four years. I sent both of my daughters there…read moreas infants and previously left a 5-star review. I would have enthusiastically recommended this school. Today, I cannot. The issue is not the teachers. The teachers have been exceptional and are the reason so many families choose this school. Despite years of tuition increases and persistent concerns from teachers and families, the school has not made the investments necessary to retain them. In early March alone, at least 7 teachers left or announced their departures--nearly 20% of the teaching staff by parents' count. Both of my daughters experienced unexpected teacher departures in their classrooms during that same period. For young children, teachers are not interchangeable. They are trusted caregivers and a critical source of stability. When teachers leave, children lose important relationships and families are left helping them navigate yet another transition. During enrollment, families are told classrooms are staffed with a lead teacher, an assistant teacher, and additional flex staff available for coverage. In reality, my oldest daughter's classroom frequently operated at the legal minimum ratio of one teacher for fifteen four-year-olds. Multiple current and former teachers described being unable to reliably use sick days, vacation days, or even take basic bathroom breaks because there was often insufficient coverage available. When a school is staffed so leanly that teachers struggle to meet basic human needs during the day, it raises serious questions about how well both teachers and students are being supported. Teachers reported compensation in the $14-$17/hour range despite bilingual education being one of the school's primary differentiators. Comparable non-bilingual childcare positions in Austin often advertise higher wages. The result is predictable: teachers leave. Children lose stability. Families absorb the consequences. Demand for bilingual childcare in Austin far exceeds supply, and many families have few realistic alternatives once enrolled. Given that reality--and given that tuition has continued to increase year after year--I expected a greater commitment to investing in the teachers and staffing stability that families are ultimately paying for. Parents who attempted to ask questions and advocate for improvements--including efforts to reestablish the PTA--often received little to no response. While our family's relationship with the school ultimately ended following disagreements with leadership about these issues, the concerns described here are based on nearly four years of experience and conversations with numerous current and former teachers and families. The teachers are the school's greatest strength. The challenge is whether the school will make the investments necessary to retain them long enough to provide the stability and continuity that young children deserve.

Ms. Amaiya has been outstanding with our daughter while she was in Toddler B. Our daughter loves her so much so that now that she has moved on from her class, she will still sometimes refuse to enter the new class unless Ms. Amaiya is there. She has been so great that she'll often at times help take her in the morning until her current teacher is available to get her. We are extremely grateful for her! Currently, our daughter is in Ms. Stephanie's class and she loves and trusts her as well. Ms. Stephanie has been incredible and is always available to give us updates on our daughter's potty training. She encourages her all the time to do things on her own and she's been so crucial for us in helping us potty train our daughter. The front desk of TLE has been amazing as well! Ms. Jessica and her team have done an amazing job and really have given a lot of consistency to the facility that we felt was lacking for a while. Seeing Ms. Jessica's and Ms. Phoenix's faces in the morning always lights up our daughter's face. We are moving away soon and won't be able to send our daughter here. We will truly miss the staff and all they have done for our daughter. They have made such a big impact on our daughter's and our lives and we hope we've made a lasting impression as well.

I get a call from daycare stating my child had slapped a teacher at 4:50pm during nap time. On…read morethe way home, I explained to my child we do not hit teachers. That is not a nice thing to do. We keep our hands to yourself. Well then my daughter proceeds to tell me the teacher squeezed me and it hurt my heart. When she tells me this she sounded sad and hurt. I went into panic mode asking what does that mean? Like you couldn't breathe or were you in pain? I said when we get home, demonstrate to me and your dad what happen. Well we get home and ask more questions, she said momma sit down, I sit down and she sits in between my legs. She said momma push your legs together like this. She said squeeze me, that's what the teacher did to me. So I said did it hurt? she said yes my heart. So when I dropped her off I told the director, I need a meeting. She asked is everything ok, I said yes and no. I didn't want to give her too much info because I didn't want to lose camera footage. They are known to lose footage or they can not play it back. We have our meeting the next day. I explained to her what happened and told her I want to see the cameras. She explains they are live streamed and aren't able to play it back. So happen the area manager was there. I said what do you mean you can't play them back and so what is the point of having them? So she takes me to the area manager to explain the process of the cameras. She asked what do I want to see. I said a teacher squeezed my daughter and she asked for the teachers name. We go over what happened. They explain I understand if I was in your shoes I would be a concerned parent too and I don't think that teacher would do that. I know you and your family have been here since ******* was a baby. Our priority is to make sure your child is safe but we also want to advocate for our teachers too. They tried to reassure me but it didn't work. The director writes my statement, stated they would question the teacher and get her statement, then they would turn this into licensing, licensing would then investigate the school and then licensing would reach out to me to question the situation. They said in the mean time we will keep this teacher and your daughter in separate rooms. I'm still upset because my child has been here since she was 6 months old and it was like they didn't care. At that point my child turned into a number. We wrap up the meeting. My daughter wanted to go home with her dad, so we go get her things and as we are walking out, my daughter points to the wall and said that's the teacher that squeezed me. Mind you she is on the wall for teacher of the month. So I told myself submit the situation yourself. So I go on the website for daycare abuse and submitted a report. Well when I submitted it, I didn't get a confirmation email or anything. So I find out licensing came to daycare but no one was telling me anything. So then I go back to state website and call the 800 number. That same day licensing reaches out to me. We are talking and she's asking questions. She says something that triggers that she is going off my report. I said what? I said wait you didn't get a report from daycare, she said no. I receive this from an online report. I said you came on Monday and I asked them if you came. They were acting like they submitted the report like they were helping. They didn't want to report this because they were already under an investigation. At that point before I had talked to licensing something told me to pull my daughter out and I did. I went in to get a document signed and the director says Brie's not here, is she coming tomorrow, I said nope and then she asked is she coming Friday? I said nope and she then say is she coming back at all and I said nope. She said did you tell anyone. I said I was getting to that. I said my daughter will not be back and she then hands me the withdrawal form. I signed the form and left. I wasn't going to keep my daughter here. The trust from this facility was gone after they didn't report to licensing, my daughter would say she hated this school or she was scared to go in. I couldn't do it. She had went through 5-6 teachers alone in preschool. She doesn't even acknowledge the school when we pass it. That should tell you something. She use to say that's my school. Trust me, it hurt to make that decision because she also had friends she grew up with since they were 6 months old but I did not feel safe leaving her there with her comments.

We've had and continue to have great experience with the school after being part of the AIS community for 3 years now, going on 4. We are truly blessed to be able to send our son to Austin International School right here in Austin! The teaching staff is incredible and very dedicated to their students, the kids are thriving, and since the school began using the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) testing last year, we now have the confirmation that AIS students always score above average in reading and math, all while learning 3 languages (French, English and Spanish). We won't find other seamless curriculum like this one anywhere else in Central Texas, and we are already looking forward to the next year at Austin International School. We feel she received a incredibly strong academic foundation from MSE, while also learning a love of nature, a sense of responsibility and mindfulness for others, and a feeling of joy in learning. The classroom is bright and peaceful, and the Montessori materials were engaging and challenging. The teachers at MSE are highly experienced Montessorians who care deeply about the children at the school. The teachers also hold parent education meetings, parent conferences, and an annual open house where the children show the parents the classroom materials. Parent observations during the school day are welcome; we did many over the years. The teachers were always open to our questions and requests to discuss issues relating to our child. We also enjoyed the many opportunities to interact with other parents at the school picnics, weekly park playdates, and monthly Mom's Night Out. We felt very lucky to be a part of the MSE community.

They also do younger kids short term trips for kids from all over the world on holiday. The new location in Caesar Chavez is an amazing two story building with a real Austin feel. It is located in the artsy part of Austin east of the center. Within two minutes walk of the location are cafes，restaurants, bars, and places to hang out. Just a few blocks away is Metz Park where they have water activities in lake Austin such as canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, rowing and more. Lynn Petro, one of the administrators and teachers has been there for 20 years and is a student favorite. Heather, who manages the location is an Austin native with welcoming heart and great big Texan personality. The teachers are the best with wonderful personalities and dedication to their curriculum. It's an excellent place to learn English whether you are on short trip or want to enroll as a full time student.

Muy importante! :) The past few years I have ventured out to the public social events held by The Language House. It is so nice to meet and mingle with other adult learners. Weekly class is very important and conversing with others is equally important. That's what the social events are all about. I have also made a few close friends in class - we meet regularly for coffee or lunch and practice our español. I am a father of two children who both have attended St. John Neumann (SJN) pre-school. I've had…read morean overwhelmingly positive experience with Kelly Montgomery and all of the teachers at SJN. If you are fortunate enough to find a spot for your children, I wouldn't hesitate even for even a minute. We've tried several different pre-schools in multiple cities and SJN is our hands-down favorite (and our top pick for any children joining our family in the future). I receive multiple updates per week via email from my child's Pre-K teacher, Ms. Chrysta. She includes specific aims and goals in her emails and lesson plans, and she produces great results, too! Of note, my child's social and writing skills have improved, and she takes direction far better than before attending SJN. Most importantly, my child feels loved by her teachers, and she loves them back. At this critical Pre-K age, both a trust and a bond with teachers and the administrator set the tone for everything else. Most days, my child feels moved to enter the office of "Chi Chi" (Kelly) and give her a goodbye hug. I also see this trust and love between my child and teachers not directly involved with my child's education. The small size of the school allows for this. All of the teachers and staff say "hi" and "bye" to my child by name, and ask my child questions about the day or the weekend. This makes SJN as much a community as it is a school. The classroom sizes are kept small so that each child has a chance for individual attention and instruction. SJN has early drop-off and late stay options, too. The other parents I've met tend to be highly involved in their children's lives. There are both fathers and mothers dropping off and picking up kids. I've made friends with many of the families, and hope to continue meeting even more! There is one extremely negative review of SJN pre-school here on Yelp from August 2017. I would ask other Yelp users to do their homework: inspect this reviewer's other reviews and draw their own conclusions about the fairness, accuracy, and focus of this 1-star SJN review.

If you feel you must go there then please check carefully with the other Mom's who are enrolled, if you go to the church as fellow members why they don't go, and make sure you get everything you need in writing from the director so that she has to follow up with what she promised. I've had one child in this school for the past few years but am now finally able to move to another higher quality Westlake Hills preschool. The wait lists are long so you take what you can get. The school itself is not too bad, definitely on the lowest end of the scale. The teachers are sweet but left to self direct. There is little to no direction that I've been able to tell from the director. Depending on your age and class you may have an extremely organized teacher who works really well with the kids or someone who's just a glorified babysitter. The turnover is pretty high but does seem to be balancing out a little recently. They were a "drop in" program at first and have just gotten licensed by the state this past year. That has helped a lot by forcing the school to get better organized. I'm also a member of the church - which is wonderful by the way, no complaints there! I only mention this because many of my fellow Mom's with pre-school age kids refuse to send their children to our own MDO program which I think is a shame. I'm now joining the ranks and moving. Kelly, the director is wonderful with the kids - she knows them all by name, gets down to their level to speak with them and is a sweet person. On the down side she's horrible at paper work and seldom returns phone calls or emails. If you are looking to join your best bet is to make an appointment or just show up to speak with her. Make sure you get ALL the paperwork and fill it out. She's often told mother's not to worry about it and then they never get in. Follow up with her yourself - frequently. The classrooms are temporary since they are used often for other meetings and events. Mrs. Vaughn's is stationary as is the baby room but the others are subject to change. Not a huge deal but know that any toys or activities the kids do will have to be brought out daily. There isn't any real indoor space to play in inclement weather so they are mostly left in the classroom. The outdoor playground is very nice though with plenty of shade and areas for smaller and older children to play. To sum it up for me, if you have another option take it. If this is your only choice it's not the worst place to be. Make sure you really understand if you are in or not and what days you get - the director won't always tell you and if you really want in you are going to have to stay on top of it. Good luck!

The most striking feature of the school is the very small class size and the extraordinary personal attention that each child receives from the school's devoted staff. Nearly all of the teachers have taught at the school for a long period of time. Dr. German has operated the school since the 70's, and has a masterful knowledge of how to work with high school students. Without fail, I found each teacher and advisor to be fully committed to my daughter's education, and meticulous in their assessment of strenghs and weaknesses. More importantly, these teacher had the time to dovetail the curriculum to the needs so carefully determined. I have no doubt that my daughter's success relied upon this very unique approach to education. This small, nurturing environment has afforded my daughter a very enriching high school experience. She blossomed at Huntington Surrey. She leaves well prepared for college, and with happy memories of her high school years. For this, I am very grateful to the school, and to its remarkably-devoted faculty.

This person is the President of the Board of Directors at Butterfly Christian Preschool and clearly thinks I am not entitled to have an opinion on the re-enrollment policy nor to share it with others. It's important to note that not a single other preschool in Westlake has such a disruptive re-enrollment policy. That goes for Westlake Methodist, Park Hills Baptist, Westlake Presbyterian, St. John Neumann and though not Westlake, Good Shepherd Episcopal. If you want your child to adapt to a preschool schedule and develop friendships with their cohort for years only to have it all yanked away then this is the preschool for you. Clearly the focus is not on the child with respect to re-enrollment, right Austin Mom C.? I can assure you my child will no longer be a student at this school once their MWF experience comes to a screeching halt in May. I might add how unprofessional it is for the Board President to question the decision to let my child finish out the school year. I've never heard of a Board President (or Board member for that matter) encouraging a family to withdrawal from a preschool. Interesting. Board President Austin Mom C., would you prefer that I turn my child's world upside right now rather than wait until fall?

We have a kinder and 2nd grader and they absolutely love going to school. We vetted every school to find the right fit and feel fortunate to be apart of Trinity. The staff is responsive and kind. The community as a whole has been embracing. Yes Trinity does have a high curriculum standard but we find that to be a positive.
