AP is owned/operated by the most loving, caring, warm couple who are native/long-time Austinites. After only nine months my 2.5yo, who had no prior Spanish exposure, is speaking entirely in Spanish to them. AP is casual, with no strict dropoff or pickup times, and with long hours to accommodate busy parents. Kids are outside almost all the time playing in *shaded* space (surprisingly rare among preschools we toured), and they come home a little dirty and covered in paint, just the way I'd want it.

I have taken almost a half dozen or more informal French language courses. Most of them have been…read morethe 6 weeks type course in which a minimum of Fench is taught but the instructors were sincere and gave their best.. The best French course I have ever had was Berlitz, which is rather intensive but you learn some French. Of course, the cost is a factor there. I once took small group and privately with a French teacher who used what was at that time the Alliance Francais text book. It was very satisfactory in that you got into learning the language very soon. Now, the reason I discuss my experiences is that a few years back I took two sessions of the introductory French at AF. I was vastly disappointed in the text although the instructor was sincere and gave it her best. The reason is that we spent too much time learning the names of fruits, the colors and how to say" one thousand three hundred kilometers" in French instead of learning real conversational French. Perhaps this has changed but I notice on their website they are using the same material. Be warned before you sign up.. The Dell Performing Arts Center is a small, cozy theater with great views of the stage from every seat. The intimate setting made for a wonderful experience. Parking was convenient, with a lot right in front of the theater and overflow parking available. Check-in for the show was smooth and hassle-free, and there's even a concession stand before you enter. The audio quality was excellent, making every performance clear and engaging. Overall, a fantastic venue for performances--well-organized, comfortable, and a great addition to Austin's arts scene!

She forced the kids in our family to read material that was disturbing and inappropriate. They should have had a better principal, or HR team, that could have prevented this. The science teachers, Stephanie Jenkins and Anne Donovan, were also lousy, and they seemed to resent the very attractive students. Perhaps, this was because they were not attractive, themselves. All three of my kids enrolled without any knowledge of a foreign language, which was initially a little nerve-wracking. My second grader was placed in a dedicated French as a Second Language support class, and it made a world of difference. Within a year, he had genuinely acquired the language in a way I didn't think was possible so quickly. My two younger ones jumped straight into the regular classroom, and they too have picked up an impressive amount of French in just one year. One of the most memorable surprises was hearing my kids come home and naturally speak French -- something I never expected to happen so soon. But perhaps the most touching milestone? They now ask me to speak French with them during part of our day at home and correct me when I make a mistake. The language has become something they take pride in and genuinely enjoy -- it's no longer just school, it's part of who they are. Academically, my kids are thriving too -- my second grader's MAP scores showed a remarkable jump from where he started before joining the school. What sets this school apart, though, goes beyond academics. The teachers clearly love what they do and love the kids they teach. Yesterday I called and had an unpleasant conversation with your receptionist who told me that she had no the dates of the exam and can not even tell me when students had DELF earlier this year. She was in a hurry to hang up the phone apparently, because the conversation with a client was something that irritated her a lot. Bizarre school.
