Weekly class is very important and conversing with others is equally important. That's what the social events are all about. Just a few blocks away is Metz Park where they have water activities in lake Austin such as canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, rowing and more. Lynn Petro, one of the administrators and teachers has been there for 20 years and is a student favorite. The teachers and staff are loving, knowledgeable and engaging. The school is full Immersion, so mostly everything is taught in Chinese, with English incorporated accordingly as the kiddos advance through grades. Each kiddo is challenged independently from their grade level, and there's an emphasis placed on learning through play and reasoning, vs memorization and repetition. We were personally concerned about our kiddo learning 3 languages concurrently, bc's our old & tired brains couldn't fathom the possibility, but the school was very vigilant and closely monitored the situation, and it never became an issue (which they had accurately predicted).
