Third updated review. I just love this company. Oscar came out to inspect a crushed duct and to apply some sealant on a unit. He came out, applied the sealant, checked out the duct, and then even removed some blockage on another vent while he was here. Oscar is always so nice when he gets here, even had a great fun conversation with my kids. I also really like that Ryan is so responsive to emails, not every company will operate that way. I just really trust Ryan and the office to be responsive and send out people for what I need. read more

So, I was in a time bind. I needed HVAC inspected/repaired as well as water heater installed in a small space all before this weekend. I have used Stephens Plumbing a couple of years ago, so I messaged through Yelp directly for assistance late yesterday. Even though I didn't get a confirmation before their phones closed at 4:30pm last night, They sent out both an HVAC technician, Poncho, and plumber, Jesus, this morning. Both arrived "on time" and they got everything that I needed done. I am more than over the moon that both issues that I was so worried about got DONE! I had Stephens come out in February to install a new kitchen faucet that I had bought prior to setting up the appt and to unlock my garbage disposal blades. The gentleman also changed out the hot water shut off valve ... They charged me $685 for like an hr long job. Asked for a majority of my money back, he was old ly offering me $150 off my bill.. I had a VERY DISAPPOINTING experience with Stephen's Plumbing. They were late for our scheduled appointment, which already started things off POORLY and showed a LACK OF RESPECT for customers' time. After the visit, I was told I would receive a quote, but I had to call FOUR DAYS in a row just to follow up. Each time there was NO UPDATE OR COMMUNICATION. What's even more frustrating is that the quote was only prepared while I was on the phone with them after repeatedly calling. This level of DISORGANIZATION and LACK OF FOLLOW-THROUGH is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. They clearly don't respect your time and expect customers to do all the follow-up themselves. Good communication and reliability are the BARE MINIMUM for a service business, and unfortunately this company FAILED on both. Based on this experience, I will never consider using them. I honestly don't understand how they have such good reviews given the service I received. read more

Oscar came out the day after I yelp requested (at night). The company set up an appointment quickly around 8am and was flexible with my schedule. They offered multiple windows and I chose the one best suited for me. They called 30 min prior to arrival. Oscar was nice, efficient, and helpful! He checked out our ac and furnace unit after I told him no cool air was coming out. He even replaced our air filter and gave tips for if it happens again. Such an honest and friendly technician - he spotted the area that needed repair, did it in a very timely manner, and came back the next day to bring more parts to remedy the issue. As usual, Stephens resolved my plumbing issue easily and to my complete satisfaction. I had a new refrigerator delivered today and there was an issue with the water valve. The installation company would not install my refrigerator until the issue was resolved. Stephens was able to send Jose Galan and Jesus out very quickly. They were able to come to my residence in little time and and resolved the issue within hours. Consequently I am able to have my new refrigerated connected in just a few days. Stephens Plumbing is fantastic. After a different company quoted us several thousand for some work mid-job that left us without a toilet and with a hole in the floor, Nick came out and quoted us a fraction of the price and assured us he could get it done without immediately doing the more invasive work suggested by the other plumber - while letting us know that we would eventually have to do the bigger job. He came in, installed two new toilets and bidets, it all works perfectly. A warm toilet seat is the most underrated thing I didn't know I needed. Everything was left neat and impeccably clean. You can tell they take pride in their work. We had a small glitch after the fact, and they came back and fixed it for us asap. The prices are very fair, and the work is well done. We have some more plumbing work on the horizon and will definitely be using them again. read more

Very disappointing quality of service. I selected the company because I felt a professional service would be offered, and that was not the case by any means. When my walls were opened up in the ceiling and exposed pipes, they were found later by another company not to be water pipes, but to be air ducks. Unfortunately, the technician from this company indicated there was no leak from these air, ducts outrageous. read more

Amazing experience servicing our water heater. Luis was quick, diligent and offered us a discount for the routine maintenance work.

My toilet was leaking back in April. We needed to have the wax rings replaced, which was over $400 and took less than 30 minutes. According to google, the cost to replace toilet wax rings in California is typically between $50 and $200, including labor. I should have done my research beforehand. A few months later it started leaking again. They did a crappy job, no pun intended. Unfortunately, they don't offer warranties... Replacing wax rings should be able to last over a decade. Very frustrating. I do NOT recommend them. read more

They had to dig through thick cement and brick all the while being considerate of the dust and mess it would cause us the homeowners. They showed up to repair my broken water main. Repairman left to go to the office to get some supplies and get me a price. Never heard from him again. By the time I got hold of another repairman at Stephan's it was after hours and he wanted to charge me emergency charges, and of course he didn't know what those charges were. The first repairman was evidently blaming me for not approving the estimate... that I never got! I'm going without water for a night at which point I'll hire someone else. Bad communications on their part, not mine. I called multiple times and just got their service. Good luck if you use them. Edit: my 1 star somehow turned to a 5 star?! I checked that the water main was turned all of the way off and it wasn't! This caused all of the additional problems. While I turned the main 90 degrees, that doesn't turn it all of the way off (I didn't know that). If the "professional' plumber had checked it most of the problem would have been much simpler. read more

First, I want to commend whoever sends out the adorable thank you cards. Receiving an "old fashioned" thank you card from a business is a classy move, and because of it, I had easy access for an emergency water leak. I called in because the city warned me that we had a constant stream of water since Oct 10. Williams from Stephens came out the same day, and once he crawled under the house, he reported a small pond growing under my kitchen. Williams said he would need to come back with a water proof suit to get closer to the source. Williams returned the next day with Robert and the two of them investigated my tricky Floorplan until they found the culprit. Williams and Robert were very respectful of my home. They didn't leave any evidence of crawling in mud when they came back up from the crawl space. Now, we're in the position of trying to figure out how to repipe my bathroom, but I would highly suggest Stephens now for both plumbing and HVAC needs. read more
