We arrived with our children and were told the restaurant was completely full. We completely understood that and did not expect them to magically find us a table. We explained very politely that we are not from the area, we eat strictly kosher, and unfortunately there were no other realistic options nearby. All we asked was if they could make a few simple burgers to go for our family. No table, no service, no special accommodation. Just a few burgers to take with us. The answer was simply no. What bothered us most was not that the restaurant was full. We understand that businesses get busy. What was disappointing was the complete lack of willingness to help a family with children who had very limited options. We were respectful, patient, and asked very nicely. Hospitality is not only about serving customers when everything is convenient. Sometimes it is about showing a little humanity when someone genuinely needs help. A few burgers to go would have made a huge difference to our family and probably taken very little effort. Instead, we left feeling unwelcome and extremely disappointed. A little compassion and flexibility would have gone a long way

One of the highlights is definitely the dessert tray--it's next level and always tempting! The atmosphere and service have consistently been positive, which is why we've continued coming back. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that during our last few visits, the pasta dishes seemed to have more tomatoes than pasta. It may have just been an off experience, and we're willing to give it another try because we've enjoyed it in the past. Overall, a good restaurant with great people and some truly outstanding desserts.

Great Greek spot in Ventura Harbor Village!…read more I've come here multiple times and it does not disappoint. First off- amazing location! Can't beat the view on the water. Last time I visited was during Ventura County Restaurant Week and they had a great deal but their regular prices are also decent. And some nights they have live music and dancers! I always get the Gyro Plate ($22) and it's very good! The meat is perfectly seasoned and the gyro tastes very fresh. Also love the seasoned fries. I've also tried their spanakopita and it is very good. All in all, awesome place to go! Great local business to support.

After the long drive from Joshua Tree National Park to Ventura, plus a completely unnecessary but…read moreemotionally necessary detour through U.S. Route 66, we arrived tired, hungry, and operating mostly on fumes and determination. We checked into our harbor hotel and ordered takeout from The Greek Mediterranean Steak and Seafood, which turned out to be an excellent life decision. First challenge: surviving the parking lot. I don't know who designed that little maze, but I emerged victorious eventually. Once inside, though, the place had a great energy. A dance floor, a DJ spinning genuinely good tunes, and massive windows overlooking the harbor like the restaurant knew exactly what kind of mood we needed. Service was fantastic. Our order was ready on time, and they also made me a dangerously good Negroni to go. Honestly, if someone hands you a well-crafted Negroni after a desert road trip, that's practically an act of community care. Back at the hotel, we spread everything out on our balcony overlooking the harbor while the sun set, and suddenly life felt very cinematic. We ordered the Sampler for Two, which included lamb chops, falafel, loukaniko sausages, spanakopita, dolmades with avgolemono sauce, tzatziki, hummus, hot pita wedges, and a Greek salad. Basically, a feast disguised as takeout. Everything was delicious. The lamb chops were flavorful, the falafel crisp, the spanakopita flaky and rich, and the whole spread felt generous and thoughtfully prepared. Portions were large enough that we saved the hummus and tzatziki for the next day, where they heroically returned as cocktail snacks. A true encore performance. This meal didn't just feed us, it restored us a little. Good food, great atmosphere, harbor sunset, Negroni in hand. Sometimes a travel day ends exactly the way it should.

We ordered an iced tea ($4.00), TO Honey I'm Blonde ($7.75), Stone Buenaveza ($8.25), Limoncello Mascarpone Cake ($7.50), and the "special cheesecake" ($9.50). With $2.68 in tax, the total was $39.68 before tip. Despite the word "tavern" in the name, this place is family friendly. During our visit, there were two large group gatherings (with kids) happening at the same time. The interior is spacious but can get noisy due to the hard surfaces. However, when the weather cooperates, there are outdoor patios available in both the front and back. Although the color palette of the interior décor is dark, the space feels clean and comfortable. There's a variety of seating options--booths, tables, high-tops, and communal tables. I'm sure the pastries on the menu came from a third-party vendor, but they were really good. This new sandwich spot has such a cool vibe: the dark walls, vintage black and white portraits and old school Italian/Mafia inspired artwork make you feel like you've walked into the neighborhood sandwich shop where somebody's about to slide a secret envelope across the table. LOL. But the real crime would be leaving without trying one of these sandwiches! The cold cuts were SO good. Fresh ingredients, generous layers of meat and cheese, and everything tasted like it was actually made with care. If you've been looking for just an old school sandwich spot then you'll be impressed. And can we talk about the presentation?! Everything wrapped up in paper and tied off. The staff were super nice and welcoming, old school hospitality meets a new neighborhood sandwich and pizza shop (which was much needed for the area). Cuzzo's is definitely bringing something fun and different to the Camarillo sandwich scene. I had the Luca & the Don both were a 10/10. Cold cut sandwiches rock here - will definitely get a meatball or sausage sub next. Plus they have pizza, so lots of hot items to checkout next time.
