We moved to Northern Virginia a little over three years ago and needed a family dentist. My wife did some research and decided on giving Dr St. Louis a try. Needless to say, we've been very happy ever since. His office is clean and updated with the most modern equipment. Dr. St. Louis and his staff are courteous, friendly and professional. They make you feel comfortable and welcome. He has done a number of dental procedures including Invisalign braces, caps/crowns, etc., and he has been spot on with his work. The dentist touched my teeth or looked at it for probably 5 minutes and or less. I wasn't sure what was going on. I was told I had a few cavities which I came to discover that they actually weren't cavities (through another opinion). The practice is nice with lots of fancy equipment but I didn't feel very comfortable being treated here. read more

I am new to the Northern Virginia area in the past two years. I was here in 2005 also. My daughter and son-inlaw recommended me to Dr. St. Louis. My Dentist I had over 20 years was like family. As he told me once, "I was supporting his kids through college". I went to Yelp and saw maybe 2 at the most un favorable reviews. I admit I went with my guard up. I have never been so pleased with the Dentist and his entire staff. Kathy ( I hope I have her name right--front office manager) Mike, Dr. ST. Louis's technician and the hygentist all are top in their fields. Everyone is kind, accommodating (even when I had to bring my 4 year old granddaughter). I always go with a book or magazine but by the time I get comfortable it's time to go in. So, I totally disagree with the person who says you wait. The chairs might be full but everyone is working on someone. Recently, I had a tooth that went bad in 2 days. An abscess. I called the office at 2 am, and first thing in the morning I was there. It was a very bad abscess and I was glad I didn't wait. Dr. ST. LOUIS and Mike really worked on me. I needed a root canal but have never had a root be so infected. It was as bad as the two C-sections I had years ago!! I've always prided myself in trying to be a good patient, but the pain was so much that Mike had me holding tightly to his hands while the root was being removed. What person does this? Dr. St. Louis was so patient because this took some work. When it was over both Dr., and Mike hugged me and said I was a good patient. Dr. ST. Louis even texted me to see how the tooth was doing. Last Sunday I woke up to a chipped front tooth. I walked in the office and at 64 felt my teeth are really failing me, but Kathy just smiled and said, no! She always calls the day before to confirm. This last month has been way over what I expected financially but they have been so accommodating and I so appreciate that. One thing I really like is the diversity of the staff. No one looks like Dr. ST. Louis and I don't mean that in a bad way. When I first came to VA, I wanted a Dentist that looked like me. I found one in Fairfax, needless to say I did not return. I felt more like a business client than a person who lives in a Dentist chair. When you are seeing a Dentist you would like a smile, comforting words, and no matter how things might be, the Dentist and staff should make you at ease on what can be a stressful time. No one comes to the Dentist smiling but Dr. St. Louis and his staff are tremendously trained, and the customer service is real. Tomorrow, I have a simple last cleaning of the year! And I'm in the chair next year. Also, what Dentist takes the time to check on the last two procedures he did by text!! This is the best dentist I have ever had. The staff is efficient and friendly. Usually, one of those is sacrificed for the other, but Dr. St Louis and his staff manage to provide the best experience and technical expertise in a great atmosphere. I do not usually find many reasons to laugh or smile when going to the dentist. This is what I posted on my Facebook about my visit today: Awful when u go to a new dentist based on Yelp recommendations on your day off and it was a terrible experience. Had to wait 25 minutes before I was seen, had a temp dental assist X-ray and measure my gums. While cleaning my teeth with the metal cleaning utensil she knocked out a filling which she said was loose anyway and was going to need replacing. While cleaning again with this metal utensil she poked into my gums so much I started to bleed which she said was "Normal". After them telling me I needed a night guard and now needed 2 fillings instead of 1, it was all going to just cost me over $700 which includes my insurance payment. I left without making any future appointments. Ugh. I get the feeling that Dentists don't want to be liked. read more

Dr. St. Louis and his staff (especially Michael) are the most wonderful caring dentist I know. I was referred to him when I moved back here from North Carolina several years ago by my long time high school girlfriend who has been going to him along with her family for many years. I trusted her opinion and she was right. He is a wonderful trusting dentist that goes the extra mile for his patients. He and his staff are exceptional and they have the latest technology to use for early detection and treatment. I can also say that his staff goes the extra mile when it comes to maximizing your dental benefits and you will not find that at most dental offices. Other offices will make you pay and then "if" they get paid you might get a credit. His office always maximizes my dental plans. Additionally, he takes "Care Credit" for people without insurance. Many dental offices, even my local neighborhood dental office, don't "bother" with care credit...you pay or tough luck...which gives me a "non-caring" attitude. I recently sent my brother to his office who had a critical painful dental issue going on and who unfortunately is uninsured and Dr. St. Louis did not stress over how he was going to pay. Ultimately my brother made payment but Dr. St. Louis went to work on his problem right away. Most dental offices will make you pay before they start work...it's just another sign that he truly does care about his patients and the "uninsured". I could only say that me and my family have had great dental care with him for about 8 years now...we highly recommend his practice. read more

Dr. St. Louis has been my dentist for years. I have pretty weak teeth so over the years was always afraid to go to dentists who judged me because of it. I regularly floss and brush but these are the teeth I got. Dr. St. Louis was super cool. Always professional and took the time to explain every procedure.
